North Cotswolds (and other new parliamentary seats?)

[edit]

Hi there. I have been creating some stub articles relating to new constituencies which will come into existence at the next general election. When I came to North Cotswolds, I see you have already created an article. I hope you don't mind that I have changed the text so that it is consistent with my other articles and I have expanded on the contents of the new seat. Also, there were one or two factual issues with the info box, which I have corrected - e.g. the electorate data is as of 2 March 2020, not 28 June 2023 which is the date of the report. You may want to check any other new constituency articles you've created.

In terms of the map you have created (North Cotswolds in Gloucestershire), unfortunately the outer boundary does not correspond to the boundary of Gloucestershire because part of South Cotswolds is in the county and you haven't shown this. This is going to be an issue with quite a few new constituencies crossing county boundaries and it will need resolving.

I look forward to hearing back from you. JSboundaryman (talk) 16:57, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi; was away when you left this and I completely forgot about it. For the places where constituencies don't correspond to counties; theres 3 options for how this can be ammended. 1. Leave it as is and just have it imperfectly reflect the counties; this is the simplest options 2. include all seats partially within the county; leaving a dotted line representing the county boundary 3. clip the constituency boundaries to the county boundaries; perhaps confusing though. At the moment; i've just kept with option 1 but if you suggest so, i could have a look at following option 2. EnglishPoliticalPerson (talk) 22:12, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
