From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello Emx~enwiki, and welcome to Wikipedia! The first thing you should know is that we encourage you to be bold. Feel free to edit and improve articles, by clicking any 'edit' link.

If you'd like to test what Wikipedia can do, check out the sandbox - just type and save the page and your text will appear. That's the beauty of a Wiki.

For more information check out our tutorial - it's designed with newcomers in mind, as is the help section. If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.

I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~.

Once again, welcome! James Kendall [talk] 14:04, 14 February 2006 (UTC) Thanks. Emx 22:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

firefox 2 image

[edit]

it did not contain the mozilla tag, and it was pointless uploading it when the last image was just fine. Silver is also considered to be acceptable and Firefox is on apple and linux as well, downplaying the need for a windows "default" theme. If you were to make a screenshot make it 800x600 so that the buttons show up better and include the mozilla, free screenshot, GPL, and wikipedia-screenshot tags.Phnx2ashes 19:50, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your image again because you didn't place the correct tags on it-- again. If you insist on placing your image of Firefox 2 up as the main image please include the following tags:
  • mozilla
  • free screenshot
  • GPL
  • wikipedia-screenshot
(just place the above in the {{}} symbols)
Also if you make the image when your screen resolution is 800x600 the browser stands out better, if it's bigger than that the wikipedia homepage becomes the focus because it takes up so much room.--Phnx2ashes 01:42, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All those tags are there, and the image is on Commons. Do I need to add those tags localy? Just look at it - all those are there! --Emx 07:32, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you do have most of them, but you dont have the correct Mozilla tag which looks like this:

{{mozilla}} Your best bet would be to just update the current screen shot on the firefox article. Do this by clicking on the screen shot and scrolling down to "Upload a new version of this file", Its much simpler to change an article's main picture this way, and it allows people to see previous versions of the screen shot, and you dont have to worry about tags because it uses the existing tags already placed on the image. I hope this was useful for you. Also if you could please create another screen shot with you monitor set at 800x600. This makes the image look much better when its shrunk.--Phnx2ashes 01:06, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also I know it says "logo" but people have established that this tag must be used for all screenshots of Mozilla products. Which is why it was used for all the previous images.--Phnx2ashes 01:12, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

non admin rollback and warning tools

[edit]

With all the great work you do I thought I'd make like a lot easier for ya - so, I have added non admin rollback and warning tools for you. They really rock!

So, can you please clear your cache (hit CTRL-R) and then when you see some vandalism use the RED rollback link. This should rollback the edit but also open the vandals talk page (turn popups off if it doesnt) and, whats best is there you should see an extra tab at the top next to history and one press and they are warned! (you still get to choose the warning) - see if that works :) Let me know if you like!  Glen  19:06, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS: If not your thing just say the word and Ill remove immediately... but that'll definitely not happen! :)' Enjoy!

Devil May Cry 4

[edit]

Thanks for removing the vandalism by Matthew666, but I think it would be better to revert to this version: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Devil_May_Cry_4&diff=93253707&oldid=92333946

The version of "Known Information" you reverted to has misspellings and typographical errors, as well as lacking some relevent information I have added since. I won't take the action myself, as I don't want to step on another editor's toes.

Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Boradis (talkcontribs) 21:30, 11 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Bosniakophobia

[edit]

It is interesting how Serbs promoted invented word "Serbophobia" on the internet. First they introduced the word to wikipedia, and then thousands of other scrapper sites copied content from wikipedia, and now Google yields thousands of matches for this invented word. Of course, while Bosniaks wanted to do the same, and create an article Bosniakophobia, Serbs quickly jumped and voted "NO!". And of course, attempts to create Bosniakophobia article failed thanks to Serbian activism on wikipedia! They don't use wikipedia for educational, but for their nationalistic/politic purposes. It is sickening to see Serbian propaganda and lies poisoning Wikipedia. What we Bosniaks need to do is focus more on Srebrenica Massacre article which is under attack by pro-Serbian vandals and revisionists/deniers on a daily basis. Ohlone

[edit]

Please note when you see a large green banner at the top of an article, such as is on the article at this moment, your edits might be lost. Further, it would be considered polite to wait until that large green banner changes. Understanding there might be confusion as to how the banners are use, here is a link to the various types Wikipedia:Template_messages/Maintenance. Message to Emir Beganović

[edit]

Dear Mr. Beganović:

Thank you for correcting the recent vandalism at the Assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

Some time ago, material I put in regarding the conspiracy in Serbia to assassinate Franz-Ferdinand and this material was ripped out by others. I have rewritten it slightly to be less judgmental against Serbia and stick to the facts and put in references so the material is all verifiable, and placed it on the discussion page. Its been about 2 weeks and no one has made any intelligent comments. Can you take a look at it and give me suggestions?

Official name of Bosnia and Herzegovina

[edit]

FYI: There is a continuity with the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (March 1 1992-December 15 1995). Howeve, officially the Republic doesn't exist, and ought to be given its own historical entry. This is contained in the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina (set out in Annex 4 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina):

Para. 1. Continuation

The Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the official name of which shall henceforth be "Bosnia and Herzegovina," shall continue its legal existence under international law as a state, with its internal structure modified as provided herein and with its present internationally recognized borders. It shall remain a Member State of the United Nations and may as Bosnia and Herzegovina maintain or apply for membership in organizations within the United Nations system and other international organizations.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:59, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
