How do I upload a non-copyrighted photo to my new article entitled
Birgit Ridderstedt -
am I too new to do so?
Can I send the jpg to an administrator?
EmilEik (talk) 20:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you must be four days old and have at least 10 edits to be able to upload a photograph. If you can prove within a reasonable amount of doubt that it is a free image, I would be happy to upload it for you. Where did you get it? ~ L'Aquatique[talk] 03:44, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Michael St. Laurent
[edit]A tag has been placed on Michael St. Laurent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. II MusLiM HyBRiD II ZOMG BBQ 01:00, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Response
[edit]Hi EmilEik - I'll look into your request tonight, if that is amenable. In the meantime, I just wanted to let you know that the way to get somebody's attention is to post on their user talk page, rather than directly to their user page as you did for me. Cheers, and talk to you tonight. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 19:59, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've had a look at the article and restored it in your user space for now, at User:EmilEik/Michael St. Laurent; you can do whatever work on it you like there. If I'd come across it tagged for speedy deletion I'd have declined it, for whatever that's worth, but I'm also something of a softy. If it came to articles for deletion, though, I'd vote to delete it. If you want to get it moved back to the main space, you'll need to find more sources (online or offline) that talk about his life and work. Let me know if you have any questions. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 22:56, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- I note you gave his birth date as c. 1948. Where did you find that information? Is there no more information about him in that source? Sarcasticidealist (talk) 20:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Someone who worked with him and is about the same age. No more info from there that would help, unfortunately, only the names of a few shows and more photos. Thanx for your help so far! EmilEik (talk) 11:35, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

The article Jan Hilary has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no significant, credible assertion of notability, no reliable sourcing, no relevant GNews hits of significant GBooks coverage
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 21:27, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
