Bonanza Card Game

Bonanza is a simple card game developed by Daffodils Games and Publishing Limited that can be played between 2 or 7 players by simply forming whole numbers using cards with arithmetic numbers and symbols. The game was developed to help children and young adults understand and appreciate the fun in Mathematics.

Rules

Cards

Each arithmetic symbol comes with numbers starting from 1. There are also power cards that comes with no arithmetic symbol, they start from 2. These cards are used as the starting number for forming whole numbers.

Game Types

There are three game types, Bonanza funky, Bonanza classic and Bonanza Strict.

Game Play

Game cards are shuffled and dealt. Players are given 8 cards each and a set time.

Winner Rules

There are two winner rules.

Sunrise

The player with the highest positive whole number at the end of the game wins.

Sunset

The player with the lowest positive whole number at the end of the round wins.

Competitions

Bonanza Mental Challenge

The challenge was organized and sponsored by Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company for public school pupils in the Tema Municipality and its environs. At the end of the competition, 5 schools in the locality emerged as winners.

Bonanza School Challenge

This was the first competition organized with the Card Game. It was sponsored by Vivo Energy Ghana in the year 2015 for Public schools in the Accra Municipality. Six schools emerged as winners at the end of the competition.
