Hello Emann56,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Snoz, may be copied from http://blackdogwebhosting.com/snoz-the-canadian-interactive-advertising-agency. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 01:22, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Snoz

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Snoz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here.  GILO   A&E 01:30, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Snoz

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Snoz, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

[edit]

Hello, I'm Safiel. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Snoz because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Safiel (talk) 04:16, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Snoz, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Snoz, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Snoz saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Tgeairn (talk) 04:52, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Snoz. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Safiel (talk) 05:23, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Snoz Logo, from Snoz, snoz.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Snoz Logo, from Snoz, snoz.png, which you've attributed to http://www.snoz.ca. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yunshui  14:24, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. In addition, you will be blocked if you copy other editors' work and present it as your own again, as you did when you copy-pasted the content of Hoota and Snoz into your article. Yunshui  23:39, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. You have also committed a number of copyright violations. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Yunshui  23:43, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

The block happened 10 years ago. I was a kid who didn't know better. I regret the actions that I have done and will not do it again. I would just like to make wikipedia a better place. Including pages like highest grossing media franchise and the Mario section is outdated since it has made over $55 billionEmann56 (talk) 12:19, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Confirmed block evasion. I don't think this should necessarily prevent you from being unblocked at this time, given that you only made a single edit with the other account, but you need to address your violation of WP:SOCK in a new unblock request. This specifically includes stating which other account(s) you have used. Yamla (talk) 12:24, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Emann56 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I was told to look into the violation regarding WP:SOCK. There are zero violations regarding WP:SOCK on my account. Confused where to find this information that Yamia spoke about in the last unblock request Emann56 (talk) 14:09, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

What, then, is the relationship between this account and User:Mrnintendosmith, both logging in and out on the same IP within minutes of each other? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 15:08, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It has been 10 years since I even logged into emann56. Didn't realize (or remembered) what was going on till after I created the new account and reset the password of the old account. The new account is not needed. I simply just wanted to fix a few things regarding top media franchises gross numbers. Everything seems to be outdated. Emann56 (talk) 17:10, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 17:38, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I concur with Jpgordon's unblock. Happy editing, Emann56, and welcome back. --Yamla (talk) 19:27, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
