[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Timeline of numerical analysis after 1945, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Handbook of Mathematical Functions (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Ema--or, and thank you for your contributions!
I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, List of things named after Isaac Newton, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Newtonian. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:
- a link to the article you copied from
- the date you copied it
You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.
If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.
Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 15:59, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

The article William G Hoover has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Jab843 (talk) 01:39, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Thomas Wainwright (footballer, (1879-1949). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Thomas Wainwright (footballer, 1879-1949). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Thomas Wainwright (footballer, 1879-1949) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:43, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Timeline of women in computing, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://lykkeliginoerdland.dk/2012/05/15/kvinderne-der-gik-foran/.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Underlying event
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Underlying event requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://muon.wordpress.com/2010/03/26/underlying-event-a-definitive-study-by-cdf/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of List of things named after Friedrich Bessel
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of things named after Friedrich Bessel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Applied mathematics into Applicable mathematics. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:34, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
The article Timeline of modern scientific computing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Redundant page; duplicates material in Timeline of scientific computing.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Blueclaw (talk) 02:12, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Simon's problems moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Simon's problems, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Disambiguation link notification for October 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Theoretical physics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Phenomenology (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Tttttttttttt
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tttttttttttt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:07, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Please refrain from using talk pages such as Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Mary Ann Mansigh for general discussion of the topic or other unrelated topics. They are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways, based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines; they are not for use as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See here for more information. Thank you. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mary Ann Mansigh. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Kj cheetham (talk) 09:02, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
I didn't see these messages, approx 12hrs apart, so couldn't answer/act/much less act in time. Too late for you, the venerable Celestina has set me to rights(aright/a-right?)! Ema--or (talk) 06:58, 13 February 2021 (UTC) I err, she didn't mention canvassing. Ta-ra. Ema--or (talk) 14:42, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
Mary Ann Mansigh moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Mary Ann Mansigh, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Too late. I've already edited this thing at least 2ce before reading this. It was left incomplete so as to encourage others to fill it out, but it seems the occasional apathy and unhelpfulness (yes, assume good faith) left me no choice. 20:56, 10 February 2021 Question to you celeste and nathan. If I make a a decent quality article, are (such) edits disruptive? Just out of curiosity. ;) Cheers .... ~~ Edit - Sorry for not spelling your name correctly/using correct name, *celestina*.

Kj cheetham (talk) 16:29, 12 February 2021 (UTC) I've decided to increase the cooling off period between some of my posts, to tone things down. That's right, to take increasing refractory breaks. ;) (uh uh uuh. That was that actress said: excusez mon francais; naughty naughty naughty). As there is a bit of "heat" from sheriffs, ya-know. But I'm not leavin town, yet, oh no, nooo... Notifying WikiProjects of deletion discussions
[edit]Your recent notifications breach WP:CANVASS. In future please post a neutral notice to notify Wikiprojects. An example of such a neutral notice can be found at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways/Archive 48#Sammy the Shunter AfD. Mjroots (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- just an fyi....an easy way to make neutral notifications is to use a wikilink to the deletion discussion as the section title and make the body one simple sentence: "A topic that may be of interest to this project is under discussion at the above-linked AfD. Your participation is encouraged." To maintain neutrality, you must notify every project that follows the article and none that don't. 174.212.222.24 (talk) 19:42, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
discussions, discussions
[edit]My defence starts here.
It seems the past few days have seen me acquire some (arch)nemeses. But I will start with the first, the very very first, Celestina (some cool nicknames I see out this one, Celli(e)/Celly, Cece, and of course the ubiquitous Tina). While she didn't seem too pleased about my actions I tried consultation, diplomacy and engagement for feedback but got none. Then I approached on her page, and instead of answering, msg ignored (spellcheck ingirted?). instead, eventually (eventfully? more like uneventfully, heh), I was deleted. just goes to be sayin, there's no you can tell some people, though. But [ain't mad at atcha], though... Ema--or (talk) 05:44, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
It’s today come to my attention that the above is polemic. Mmmmm, mm. Well, well, oh deary me. Ema--or (talk) 17:58, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
I also want to make a song, about this, don't worry, no names, just good clean fun. Ema--or (talk) 19:13, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Page in question: Talk:Mary Ann Mansigh
Hey, Ema. Listen, article talk pages are for discussion — i.e. "talking" (into the ether doesn't count). They are not intended for a series of continuous comments and queries just from one, single user. If nobody responds the first or second (or let's say, even 3rd) time, then it's best just to wait until they do. Otherwise, it comes across as rather WP:FORUM-y, which is frowned upon and, ultimately, is a prohibited practice. Thank you in advance for your close attention to this matter. Regards, El_C 15:24, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Enough time has passed for me to consider a reply. I think I have it, but I want to wait. Still, shouldn't let too much time go by..... Ema--or (talk) 22:46, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Time has cooled things down, and changed my original plan, seems to me. I was going to post a long monologue on article's talk page, but I've seen better to do otherwise. Perhaps everyone's moved on, too.
I suppose I have a difference of opinion, but I don't own wikipedia, neither am I in power, an admin etc. Frankly I'm starting not to care ?about trouble? anymore, maybe I'm already there. I by nature might've been tempted to give my reaction one of defiance, debate and satire/teasing/mild ridicule (radulae/radicle//aedicule?) but I have it doesn't serve any purpose and frankly I am tired from the whole afd affair. thrilling it may be, but in the end the doesn't help anyone.
I've already spent more than a mote of time on this issue, and more than enough edits for this year.
Still i got a few things to point (copint?) out.
I've exhausted my role in this conversation, for now. everything is now on this page's for the future. Hopefully we will see progress/more material to improve article.
Since my warning(s) and thread closure, I've also attempted engage with any other poster in this page, and stay relevant. But feel free to close (per headbomb), archive, or otherwise move my comments. 20:57, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
I haven't seemingly addressed this coherently. Maybe time not only cools all feelings but dulls thoughts too. Ema--or (talk) 08:15, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
