SoltyRei

[edit]

Your revisions on List of SoltyRei characters is far better than I expected. Your work seems to be well-informed. I'm hoping that you'd also make a better descriptions about New Rights Children than on Talk:SoltyRei, and also Registered Citizen and Unregistered Citizen. Those three I mentioned are still missing in SoltyRei Glossary section due to lack of information, if that's alright with you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Philippeandrews (talkcontribs) 09:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kudos! I'll definitely work on the parts you mentioned. I'm also going to try to expand the article set a bit more in general once I have more free time on the weekend. The only concern I have is that my knowledge of the anime comes solely from watching the US DVD in English subs, but hopefully others working on the articles will catch any discrepancies. Adoption

[edit]

I noticed you were looking for someone to adopt you and was wondering if you wanted me to adopt you. I've never adopted someone before, but I've been here a while and have become familiar with many of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please let me know if you want me to adopt you. Either way, I'll be happy to help you whenever you need it. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:49, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That'd be great! Even more so because we're both working on the Solty Rei article set. Do I need to do anything to accept the adoption? --Elunah (talk) 05:07, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, I changed the template on your user page and added one to mine. It's pretty simple, huh. Anyway, if you have questions about something or if you're having trouble with a dispute on a talk page you can bring it to me. Also if you are wondering where to find something in the MOS or something like that, I can help with that too (I know when I first started out I had a real hard time finding guidelines and stuff). You seem to already be skilled with wikicode, which I'm really happy to see (though I'm happier to see your grammar is better than my own ^_^). Well I guess that's all I have to say. If you need any help, let me know. I look forward to working with you. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:17, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Very simple indeed! I don't really have any questions at this moment, but I'm sure some will come up. I was wondering if you could take a look at the progress I'm making on rewriting the List of SoltyRei characters article. I set up a sandbox of sorts here. There are some notes I made about it in the Talk section of the "article" as well. I'm not very advanced in my progress yet, but I wanted an opinion about my methods and approach before I get too far ahead of myself. In an case, thanks for adopting me! I look forward to our collaboration as well. --Elunah (talk) 04:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mind if I make a few small edits to your sandbox page and put some comments on its talk page? I think that would be the easiest way. Over all it looks pretty good though. Thanks for your hard work. --Eruhildo (talk) 20:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, that's perfectly fine! I'd prefer it to be a collaborative effort, in the spirit of Wikipedia. I'd do work straight on the article itself, except that I can't leave the article in a half-finished form like I can in a sandbox. ++Elunah であります (Chat) 21:19, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts on SoltyRei character list

[edit]

Okay, first question! Oh, first off, I hope it's okay that I ask here--if it's better for you that I ask on your Talk page, I can do that instead. Anyways, a few days ago, 58.26.64.226 appended Rose's character description by saying that her PROCEED suit can copy the abilities of anyone she fights. Today, the user once again posted this, but added that the suit was bulletproof. I don't think this is true, and it's not mentioned anywhere in the anime, so I reverted the changes and put a request for a source in the edit summary. Is this the proper action to take?

Also, regarding the contents themselves, do you think the additions made by 58.26.64.226 are correct? I personally don't agree, and I'm almost certain nothing like this is ever explicitly described, but I could be wrong. I also don't think it's implied--Rose is never hit by bullets while in her suit, and even when Solty is wearing it, she is struck by lasers from Eirene. There is one part when Rose is fighting Sylvia and they say that the suit is responding to her, but I believe this means that the suit is responding to Rose's individual information, instead of leeching information from Sylvia. ~~ Elunah であります (Chat) 07:03, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The actions you took towards the IP user were excellent. What he/she wrote was wrong - the suit was never implied to be bullet-proof and does not allow her to copy others' abilities. If I remember correctly, she just responded well to the suit. Oh yeah, it's easier for me if you post questions on my talk page because I always check my messages before doing anything else on Wikipedia. I'm more likely to respond faster that way. But it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. --Eruhildo (talk) 21:11, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Sorry about that, I didn't notice it.  Elunah であります  Rawr!  05:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I should have caught that and told you about it sooner, but I wasn't paying attention. Sorry. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:SoltyRei characters

[edit]

My apologies for such a late reply. I've been rather busy lately. In any case, the main thing you are trying to address with the article is minimizing and summarizing the in-universe content in a concise and succinct way while also including a out-of-universe context for the article. For instance, List of characters in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow features sections on the conception and design of the characters, as well as overall reception of how they were received by various publications. Your primary problem here is that SoltyRei has only aired in Japan, thus your ability to add such information is extremely limited, as English-language sources are generally preferred for providing such information (as this is the English Wikipedia. Naturally, Japanese-text citations can be included, but they should be few and far between). With this in mind, there is little that can really be done other than improving the in-universe content as I demonstrated earlier. The quote style can work. See Characters of Carnivàle for how it should go. As for reassessing the article itself, you can request it from an uninvolved editor or from the project, or simply be bold yourself and do it. I would recommend the former, and a few users you can look at are User:Collectonian, User:TheFarix, User:Juhachi, and User:Mika1h. I wouldn't mind if you asked. As for featured list status, again, I think that isn't possible until you can get English language sources on conception and reception and that simply won't happen until SoltyRei is released in English.
