Hello and Welcome! I hope you like the place. --mav

Hello! I reverted some vandalism from Suffragette, and I think one of your edits got caught in the crossfire, but I can't seem to find it. Could you have a look and see if anything's missing? 81.105.48.31 00:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but it is oke, my small contribution remains. Ellywa 10:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I came here through the Dutch wiki, where I am currently kindof addicted to. Its nice!

Hoi.

Darkelf 10:45, Dec 18, 2003 (UTC)

Please check again your historical atlas. In 1686 Danzig was a biggest city of Polish Province of Royal Prussia, and this didn't change until 1793. Thanks in advance. Cautious 12:57, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC)

We need an article about the neologism spum, which (according to the article) won't appear on the internet until next month? -- Wondering simply, Infrogmation 04:11, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Thanks, correction made. Ellywa 11:00, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Believe me, I didn't mean to do that, I was just thinking in English too much. I'll have to go round and fix the Interwiki links, since I did it in the other languages I signed up for as well! Thanks for listing things on the Dutch VfD. David Newton 06:11, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Why do you delete the thumbnails from the constellation entries? – Torsten Bronger 00:44, 11 Apr 2004 (UTC)

The "tumbnails" were no real thumbnails, bur redirects to larger images. I replaced them, because the interwiki robot could not upload them automatically. I think I changed only one. I am now hoping the robot will be debugged. If you don't like it, it may be reverted (I saw you did this already). My apologies if I caused any inconvenience. Ellywa 01:13, 11 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Could you please put a more descriptive caption on the image you added to birefringence? Thanks. —Steven G. Johnson 03:58, Apr 20, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Broken image

[edit]

Your picture at Image:Afbeelding Mauritshuis, Den Haag, juni 2003.JPG seems to be a broken image. Could you upload it again? While you're at it, could you add a image copyright tag? You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc. Thanks so much, Ricky81682 (talk) 01:58, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

Image licensing

[edit]

Hi. I am currently reviewing license/copyright information of art images. I came across this image: Image:Leeuwenjacht delacroix.jpg which User:Squash labeled as images of unknown source (Template:Unverified. I think that given Delacroix passed away more than 100 years ago, the image could be tagged with Template:PD-art, but I thought I would ask you first. Thank you for your attention, Tomos 13:27, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Interwiki for Thai cities

[edit]

Recently you add Interwiki links for Thai cities. However the dutch article you link is a disambiguation page, while the German or English one are about the city. Thus I had to remove the links again. andy 22:05, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Sorry and thank you for restoring this. I am currently adding many links to dutch wikipedia, I try to avoid mistakes, but it is sometimes inevitable. Ellywa 16:18, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

RobotE

Have you applied for permission to run your interwiki bot? I don't see anything about it on Wikipedia:Bots. --Carnildo 05:25, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes indeed, I did, please note Wikipedia_talk:Bots below on that page. I thought I could the run the bot while permission is pending? Is this correct? Ellywa 05:32, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'd missed that. It would probably be a good idea to stop the bot, at least until it gets approved for a proper test run. We've had trouble recently with interwiki bots accidentally removing potentially thousands of interwiki links. --Carnildo 05:57, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see the need for that now. I have run the same bot from this account, Ellywa, for many 1000's of changes without any comments. The only difference is the name of the user. Please look into my "User contributions" and take a stance after that. Ellywa 06:00, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You may run your bot for a full duration of one week, to prove the burden of proof that the bot is: harmless, useful, and not a server hog. -- AllyUnion (talk) 06:50, 27 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. RobotE is now flagged as a bot. If you ever need this flag removed, please ask at meta:requests for permissions. Angela. 09:39, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

HI, thank you very much Angela, in behalf of all who don't want the bot in the Recent changes. Ellywa 05:33, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Dear Ellywa, after looking the contributions under User:RobotE, I'm very impressed. Congratulations for receiving the bot status flag for the account. Please understand that my replies on Wikipedia talk:Bots was not meant to be harsh or go against your bot in any matter. You must understand that FlaBot caused some damage with its edits which remained unnoticed for sometime. Therefore, I was attempting to be careful and making sure that nothing bad happened. Although you made edits under User:Ellywa, there was no prior request for the status. Certainly, we can accept your proof with your edits under User:Ellywa, but it is far better to make certain that whatever code you are running is run under the account you say you are going to run. I apologize if I had caused any trouble for you, but I wished only the best for the Wikipedia. Thank you. -- AllyUnion (talk) 09:01, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hi AllyUnion, Of course I understand you have to be carefull and as I am not a regular contributor here you are not aware of my intentions and the way I work at NL wikipedia. No hard feelings at all. Keep up the good work for the good of Wikipedia, Regards, Ellywa 10:16, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

RobotE's edit to Tarsier (and likely other pages) was marked as modifying the ja and nl interwiki links, but it also modified the he link. I'm not sure if you intended this or noticed it, or if it worked correctly. — The Storm Surfer 01:12, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mashhad

[edit]

Hi, thank you for your message. I didn't know Wolley was from the Dutch WP and creating problems there. The website he is linking to is actually Persian. The information he wants to add to the article is totally inappropriate since these events are covered elsewhere in much more specific detail and within the proper context. See Judicial system of Iran, for instance. He also has a very definite POV as he is stating that they are homosexual when there is no evidence of this (they were convicted of raping a boy). The only way I see of dealing with him is taking the case to ArbCom. What are your thoughts? SouthernComfort 00:52, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Correction: it seems that he is from the German WP - he has been involved with the article there as well. [1]] The image he uploaded there was also deleted it seems, as it was here (he took it from another website). SouthernComfort 03:04, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I noticed RobotE is working on the wikilinks between articles of different languages. Is there any plan to work on categories too? Thanks. :-) — Instantnood 13:05, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Personally I have no plans, but I will try an automatic run. Usually I only put new links starting from new articles on Dutch wikipedia. Ellywa 10:25, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I've seen that RobotE has been adding wikilinks to categories such as Category:1991 births. As you can see, this makes for a pretty nasty page, since the interwiki is already included in the template of which the page is made up. Would you mind reversing these changes? Thank you Sam Vimes 20:48, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, this was a mistake, I renamed it into User:Ellywa/testarticle. Can you please delete the redirect, I never know how to list a page for speedy deletion down here. Thank you for telling me. My suggestion is to make no links at all anymore, never, exept maybe for combined terms, but to link automatically if somebody wants to know more about any word or term. Guidelines such as context you mentioned are not effective (at least not at NL wikipedia) because people keep always going on with adding links.... Today somebody made a link to an old aunt of mine, just a very ordinary although nice person. Only because she is the mother of somebody... Just because the name is there, the link is made. It happens all the time. Ellywa 05:54, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners

[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 02:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Use of dagger (From Wikipedia:Help desk)

[edit]

At the Dutch wikipedia we are having a discussion regarding the dagger † in front of the date a person has died. Did you have any discussions about this here, and where and why did you decide not to use this sign? I cannot find any discussions about it, maybe in some archive. It would be helpful if you can point it out. Thanks, Ellywa 22:40, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I see no reason to, and never heard of anyone proposing this. Millions of these little crosses would need to be used, and personally I would be against since it doesn't refer to anything except some lame religious symbols. Elfguy 23:10, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a "lame religious symbol" - by which presumably you mean a cross - it's a dagger. (Most computer fonts don't display the difference very well, but if you paste it into Word or the like, switch to something like Times New Roman, and blow it up, you can clearly see the "daggerness"). It's a standard typographical character - the second conventional marker for a footnote (the series goes * asterisk, † dagger, ‡ double dagger).
Whilst the original use of the symbol was to indicate a cross - it was used in printing religious liturgies, and signalled the priest to make the sign of the cross during the reading - it became quickly secularised, probably in order that they wouldn't have to worry about using a religious symbol in a secular text. Dagger it is and has been for centuries.
Use of a dagger to indicate "deceased" is rare in English, but certainly not unknown - I have a copy of the Oxford University Press compositors' handbook next to me, which mentions it, though it holds that it should be prefixed to the name (so, eg, †Churchill). It's only really valid in some highly specific contexts - for example, in a list of names, where it's useful to note which ones are dead but you don't want to go into detail. It is, though, a perfectly acceptable if obscure use with no particular religious significance. There's also a similar standard use for philology, where a dagger prefixed to a word means that it's obsolete.
For the original question - I'd discourage its use without a particular reason, and certainly discourage adding it to all death-dates in a biography. Shimgray 23:50, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • If it was intended to be a dagger it would look like one. It looks like a cross, and thus is intended to be religious in nature, therefore has no place here. Religious arguments are restricted to Religion related articles, Nintendo related material is left to Nintendo related articles, and so on. I don't want a cross on every article mentioning anyone who ever lived, same as I don't want an image of Mario Bross everywhere. Elfguy 00:37, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Some fonts represent it in a way such that it looks like a cross - some fonts also represent the characters "l", "1" and "I" identically, but this doesn't make the letter l "intended to be a number".
Your argument is just silly, because it does look like a dagger - in some fonts one stylised into being simple (since, lets face it, how much detail can you put in one-pixel-thick Courier?), in some fonts a very ornately stylised one. (see Image:Daggers.png for a set of examples) Typographical symbols are stylised by their very nature, and this is much more recognisable than most - does a pound sign look like "lb"? does an ampersand look like someone writing "et"? No-one really knows what an at-sign originally represented, but this doesn't stop people using it to mean "at" - you'd certainly not get very far claiming it looks like a snail so it represents a snail.
It's a valid literary use. It's not part of some super-secret religious conspiracy to infiltrate Christian symbols into people's writing - are you going to argue next that half of all books using footnotes are filled with religious symbols because they use daggers?
I'm not claiming we should use it on wiki - I personally think it's messy, and biographical articles aren't a good place for it even were it in common use - but spurious anti-religious objections don't help anyone. Shimgray 01:10, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • The German wikipedia does this. I suspect that it sounds horrible on a blind user's screen reader, and the trivial gain for sighted users doesn't seem worthwhile to me. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 23:22, August 21, 2005 (UTC)
I see no reason to use it either since it seems to suggest some sort of religious bent which would not be NPOV. I much prefer "d. January 1, 2006", "died January 1, 2006", or eliminating the letters altogether such as "(January 1, 1900December 31, 2005)". People are going to know that those dates relate to birth and death so there's not really a reason to even say "born" or "died". I don't like "passed away" or "met their creator" or any of those terms that hedge around, and imply religion in, the fact that the person is dead. Plus if we started using the "dagger" character, all the other religions would throw their arms up saying that they would require a Star of David or 9 pointed star or whatever. Then we'd have disputes over what symbol to use for those people who were born into one faith but then no longer practised that faith or even converted.
If it's not supposed to represent a cross, though most would just assume this anyway, and it is supposed to be a dagger, its use seems archaic and has fallen out of disuse to the point where it would be more of a sore thumb than an indicator of death. Dismas 23:42, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • The dagger (which I always thought was a cross) is a very common way to mark death dates in genealogy. However, this use is not common in the US, where genealogists tend to write (b. 1909, m. 1938, d. 1999). The "m." is for "married". I don't think such a huge change would ever be approved. -- Reinyday, 16:19, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

Thank you very much. This is very interesting, there are totally different viewpoints about this subject here than on Dutch wikipedia, where we have these two extremes:

  1. The use is non-neutral because its a christian symbol.
  2. The use is trivial because it is used everywhere.

Ellywa 18:57, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Marking births and deaths (from Wikipedia:Village pump/January 2004 archive 6)

[edit]

How should we be marking births and deaths on the anniversary pages? (eg January 21) people born on this day who are now dead have their year of death marks as († YYYY), (+ YYYY) or (d. YYYY) (each page seems to be different). For people who have died on this day, births are often not marked, or they use the convention (* YYYY), (+ YYYY), (b. YYYY) or (YYYY - YYYY). I had been changing all the death symbols to the dagger (†) as I thought it was a good symbol of death (stab, stab) and * for births, but another user pointed out that both † and + could be seen as Christian symbols and there was a policy to avoid them. I can't find any policy on this in the manual of style. Fabiform 20:21, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)

NPOV is the policy you seek. We need not have a Christian bias here when it is not needed. See related talk at Talk:Historical anniversaries/Example --mav 20:36, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Well I'm not Christian and it hadn't occured to me people would see the dagger as a cross instead of weapon. But I do of course want to be NPOV which is why I asked here. Thanks for pointing me toward the relevant talk page. I see the consensus on the talk page is for (b. YYYY) and (d. YYYY). Cheers, Fabiform 20:57, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)
When I saw the symbol I thought it was supposed to be a cross. But, whatever, I don't care one way or another for that reason. The dagger is unclear, though. I'd prefer (yyyy-yyyy), or alternatively, (died yyyy). Anthony DiPierro 01:54, 22 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Actually Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies) is better. We use (yyyy-yyyy). de.wikipedia uses the format with * and crosses. Secretlondon 20:44, Jan 21, 2004 (UTC)

The issue at hand is on pages like January 21 (as indicated) where there is a ==Births== section. In that section, if the person born then has since passed on, it's common to list the year of their death. In what manner should this indication be given. Of the above options, (d. YYYY) is my preference. - UtherSRG 20:55, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)

ah but (YYYY - YYYY) would duplicate information in this case

Today we have this entry for example- Births

  • 1738 - Ethan Allen, American patriot († 1789)

Changing this to (d. 1789) is one thing, but this would look odd IMO-

Fabiform 20:58, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)

The dagger (†) notation for many English-speaking users is a footnote notation. Its use to mark a death is archane and unclear to modern readers. When I see a "†", I start looking for the footnote explainer. My vote is for the standard (YYYY-YYYY) WP style. As for the Ethan Allen Link above -- the death is not germane to the list topic unless he died on his birthday. Otherwise, it should be in his bio entry article. Davodd 21:48, Jan 21, 2004 (UTC)
I disagree that the mention of Ethan Allen's (and everyone else's) year of death is out of place on the anniversary page. It adds context. Either way, these dates are all over the anniversary pages and written in many different formats, so I think it's worthwhile to tidy them up (rather than remove them). Of course, if lots of people jump in and second your comment, I'll bow to the consensus. Fabiform 22:31, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)

I think that including the death dates on the year page for someone who was born that year is a TERRIBLE scheme. If you want to know when they died, read the darn article. The only reason to have that year link there is to jump people to that year page, but presumably people aren't interested in reading about the magical connections between 1738 AD and 1789, but in reading about Ethan Allen. I beg, beg, beg people not to do this (+1789) thing. Among other things, it looks unprofessional, it clutters the page and we have enough work maintaining those timeline pages already, without having to add in a death date everywhere we put a birth date and visa versa! Please. Stop. (And delete all the junk that's already in there. Thank you kindly. jengod 02:36, Jan 23, 2004 (UTC)

Propaganda Poster Art Centre

[edit]
File:CIMG1316 Propaganda Poster Art Centre.JPG
View of the interior of the museum

The Propaganda Poster Art Centre is a museum located in Shanghai wich exhibits posters from the Maoist period of communist China, especially from the Cultural Revolution period.. The museum is located in the basement of an apartment building in Huashan Lu in the former French Concession area. It consists of only two rooms.

Many posters are showing Mao as the rising sun of the country. On other posters the western world is shown as the "bad guys", depicted with big noses.

The owner of the museum, Mr. Yang Pei Ming, is keeping the posters as they are to be seen as an art form. He started collecting the posters as a hobby, and he wants to preserve the posters for the future. The museum is visited mainly by tourists, as it is listed in The Lonely Planet guide.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:49, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Environmental noise directive

[edit]

Hello Ellywa,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Environmental noise directive for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Tritario (talk) 13:28, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Environmental noise directive, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Directive (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Francesca Fabbri requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Postcard Cathy (talk) 22:41, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

energy vs power

[edit]

With this edit: [2] you added the information "provinces have made in the past a large profit from selling energy companies". Is this a translation from the Dutch word "enegiebedrijven"? In that case the translation could also be "power companies". See the redirected articles energy company and power company. I think "power company" might be better. Please have a look. --VanBuren (talk) 22:22, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are absolutely right. I am missing your subtle knowledge. What I meant however was "nutsbedrijven " which is broader. It can include water and gas. Do you think public utilities could be a better word? I have changed the article accordingly. Do you think its correct? Btw nice to see you here.Ellywa (talk) 23:33, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. I linked it as well. :) --VanBuren (talk) 12:24, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Elisenda Fábregas has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the prod blp tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Jbh (talk) 01:30, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jbhunley, there was a single reference, but apparently it was not noted somehow, perhaps because the template references was missing. I added several more and will remove the template. Thanks for warning me. Ellywa (talk) 10:11, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

it is important to protect https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Buk_missile_system&diff=653082522&oldid=653082078

I looked into a Dutch newspaper from 20 March 2015, De Volkskrant. It states in Dutch that a journalist has found a metal scrap three months after the crash in a part of the fuselage. The journalist took the piece with him. It has appeared to be a part of a Buk. The Dutch government has not commented yet, at least, I could not find any formal reference, so I am quite sure there is no official publication from the goverment. The "Onderzoeksraad" (research council for accident investigation) says they will study the material as soon as it is handed to them and cannot draw conclusions before they have done their own research. Penny Green

[edit]

Hoi Ellywa,

I see that you made Penny Green a disambiguation page, also including a Professor at Queen Mary University. Because we don't yet have an article about her, I have restored the redirect: I'd suggest that you first write the article about the professor, and then restore the disambiguation page. --Slashme (talk) 09:50, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Slashme, thanks for mentioning. I wasn't aware this was the usual way to disambiguation here. I took your suggestion and made a short article about her and again made a disambiguation page. I hope somebody can correct my mistakes... I am not fluent in English. Kind regards, Ellywa (talk) 10:33, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Good work! After reading the references on that page, it seems that Green and Lynck were both controversial candidates, so I've made that clear. Maybe you'd like to translate the article to Dutch? Do you have the Content translation tool active on your account? --Slashme (talk) 11:59, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your addition! Perhaps I should translate the article, the issue was discussed in our national parliament. Thats how I came to look for her at Wikipedia. :-). I sometimes use the tool. Ellywa (talk) 12:10, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Vertaling

[edit]
Levenspoort Wageningen

In het Engels is dat "that the name of the deceased may not disappear from among his kinsmen and from the gate of his home town." Modern Joodse vertaling op Sefaria. gidonb (talk) 00:04, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dank je wel Gidon! Groet Ellywa (talk) 06:28, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(And it will not be necessary for the name of the word to come from its place.)
