User talk:Elliott Haworth

[edit]Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Elliott Haworth, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Talk:Martin Lewis (financial journalist)
I have attempted to get his page updated via his Talk page with new and relevant information on a few occasions but I am struggling to get hold of editors who are willing to look at or approve the suggested changes.
We removed the citations from articles on MoneySavingExpert as per the previous rejection in July, and have updated with external sources that I believe meet Wikipedia's criteria.
I was told to be patient and have been waiting for six months now – hoping to find someone who might be able to help me.

- I am afraid your proposed edits contain tone issues. Passages such as
2022 yielded a significant victory
andLewis has been a leading advocate
are opinions stated as facts, a act called editorializing, which Wikipedia tries to avoid. - The reason for the long response time may be because you are requesting the addition of massive amounts of text, which most editors do not have time to go over. Ca talk to me! 12:41, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Ca. As you can probably tell I'm not overly familiar with Wikipedia process. I do understand that as a paid consultant I cannot make changes to his page, only suggest them. Much of his page is very out of date, missing significant milestones and achievements, and contains errors. I have tried to add them section-by-section to reduce the workload on editors to no avail. Before I remove the editorialising, do you have any suggestions as to how I might proceed to get the page updated more quickly? thanks, Elliott Elliott Haworth (talk) 13:05, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- The best thing you can do is instead of proposing a wholesale rewrite, propose small, incremental changes, one at a time(have one reviewed before proposing another). Most of us aren't being paid to be here, so we don't necessarily have lots of time to spend on lengthy requests. The shorter the request, the more likely it will be reviewed.
- I edited your link, the whole url is not needed. 331dot (talk) 15:22, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
