Removal of tone marks for pinyin

There is no "Wikipedia guideline" which states that pinyin transcriptions cannot have tone marks. In fact, it is a general convention amongst articles dealing with China-related topics to feature tone marks in pinyin when providing a romanised transcription to gloss Chinese characters.
