Conflict of Interest, but notable person ElisabethLesser (talk) 16:28, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- A conflict of interest need not prevent you contributing, as long as you are open about it. See WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest for guidance.
- You are welcome to comment at the deletion discussions of your articles - read WP:DISCUSSAFD for advice before you do, and make sure to declare your COI in any comment you make.
- Wikipedia:Notability is not a matter of opinion, or of saying so, but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also WP:42.
- The deletion discussions will run (normally) for seven days, anyone may contribute, and at the end an uninvolved administrator will decide what to do, based not on a count of heads but on the arguments presented in terms of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You may continue to edit the article, e.g. to add references, during the discussion.

Matt Fellowes & HelloWallet
[edit]Hi Elisabeth, you may have seen that both of these deletion discussions have now concluded. As I suspected might happen, neither article was deleted, and there was a fairly solid "Keep" conclusion in the case of Matt Fellowes. This will help to protect this article against any future challenges. The "No consensus" conclusion to the HelloWallet article was more due to the lack of people contributing than to an actual inability to decide. My own view is that if Matt Fellowes meets notability guidelines, then HelloWallet certainly does. I am sorry if you felt that I was out to 'get' you, or the articles at any point - this was never the case. I really just wanted community consensus. If at any point in future you have problems with the articles, please feel free to contact me for support - I am at least one editor who knows that the articles have been tested against Wikipedia's standards, and, as far as I am concerned, both have passed.
