Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Broadway League has been reverted.
Your edit here to The Broadway League was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://twitter.com/#!/thebwayleague/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:12, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:The Broadway League Logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Broadway League Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:21, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Kids' Night on Broadway.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello. Your additions to the article The Broadway League have had to be removed following notice from another editor that it substantially duplicated external sources. If you are connected to The Broadway League and have permission to license this content under our required licenses, please see donating copyrighted material for how to do this. If you are not connected to them but received permission, that permission will still need to be verified through those processes.

We are not able to copy content from previously published sources (except in brief and directly marked quotations) unless these are explicitly compatibly licensed or demonstrably public domain. Otherwise, all information should be put into your own words.

In addition to copying issues, I note that concerns have been expressed at the talk page that the material was not neutral. This is not unusual - the subjects of articles are naturally interested in promoting themselves and their work in their own publications. Wikipedia, however, has a different purpose; we exist to neutrally summarize in due balance what reliable sources say about notable subjects. We can certainly use official sources for some information about themselves, but we cannot use them for material that may be self-serving or in a way that promotes their aims. You can read more about those concerns at the talk page of the article. Please also see conflict of interest guidelines, if you are affiliated with the subject.

If you have any questions about copyright permissions procedures, please feel free to drop by my talk page. For general assistance, you might want to visit the teahouse or help desk. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:11, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
