need help

[edit]

Hi, I recently updated the Draft:Katie Britt page, and changed it from a low quality article that does not meet notability requirements that someone tried to make several months ago, to a more in-depth article that DOES meet notability requirements, and follows all the Wikipedia rules. Yet, someone still declined it saying that it doesn't meet notability requirements, even though that is not true. How can I proceed here? What do we do when the page patroller is just flat out wrong?

These 3 sources count towards notability, right? They are multiple, independent of the subject, significant coverage (not just a trivial mention), secondary published sources, reliable.

Your problem with WP:AFC does not require administrator intervention. I also agree with the user below: it looks to me like you have a conflict of interest, which you have not declared.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:19, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I suggest you wait for the 2022 Senate elections to end; multiple declines mean if an uninvolved editor were to create the article directly in the mainspace now, it would probably be deleted at articles for deletion. May I please kindly also ask your relation to Ms. Britt, if any? Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 22:22, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We went to the same high school together. But I wouldn't say I know her personally. Is there a conflict of interest with that? Do you have any suggestions on how to improve the draft article so it qualifies? It already meets Wikipedia's definition of notability for living people. So I'm not sure how someone can have the power to decline an article that follows the rules?--Eileithyiai (talk) 20:27, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Bild Zeitung

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you re-added a previously excised source (the Bild Zeitung). Bild is not a reliable source (see: WP:BILD). It is a right-wing tabloid that is known in Germany for its sloppy, xenophobic and incendiary journalism. (Until March 2012, it printed a topless woman on the front page every single day.) Please cite more reliable sources; WP:RSP has a list of good sources to get you started.-Ich (talk) 09:45, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

topless woman lol? I had no idea about Bild. I appreciate the heads up! Thank you --Eileithyiai (talk) 16:05, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. Thanks for letting me know. I'll write in my own words from now on.--Eileithyiai (talk) 16:14, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Ivanka Trump. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:54, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you have an affiliation with Ivanka Trump, you need to declare it per [[WP:COI]. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 19:48, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You think I know Ivanka Trump? The celebrity? That's funny. No, sorry. --Eileithyiai (talk) 18:04, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove information from articles, as you did to Ivanka Trump. Wikipedia is not censored, and content is not removed on the sole grounds of perceived offensiveness. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page to reach consensus rather than continuing to remove the disputed material. If the content in question involves images, you also have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide the images that you may find offensive. Thank you. Calidum 18:24, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wait: you're saying that I'm not allowed to edit the content of the Ivanka Wikipedia article? You're saying that what is already up there is set in stone? I'm sorry but I do not find that to be a valid request. It's nothing personal, but Wikipedia is a public encyclopedia that ANYONE CAN EDIT. The whole point is to EDIT the articles. And your assumption that I am deleting things based on "perceived offensiveness" is not only arrogant, it is wrong. In every edit summary I listed the EXACT reasons, and as you can see from my edits done today, most of the reasons fall into the category of weasel words ([[MOS:WEASEL]]) or the source saying something completely different, or it just not being encyclopedic. Does every factoid about every topic belong in Wikipedia? Because my understanding is that the answer to that question is no. I hope you're not personally offended by this message, because I'm merely taking actions CONSISTENT with Wikipedia's rules. I feel like users on here are very very quick to jump onto the backs of anyone perceived as pro-Trump, conservative, or Republican. If I was just deleting stuff I don't like and had no reason, or adding crazy unverified statements, then yes you would be right. But I am not. Eileithyiai (talk) 18:37, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
