Peer Review

I have responded at the Peer Review you requested me to look at. Could you return the favor? I have an article (Prairie Avenue) at Peer Review that needs some feedback.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 17:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

s/b means should be.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the copy edit. I have been trying to get fresh eyes on the article. Can you now support it for FA?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Deja Vu CD Maxi Cover.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Deja Vu CD Maxi Cover.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:31, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Parol

Psst... are you available on Dec. 19-20 so we can expand the article and it hits DYK on the eve or on Christmas Day? P.S. we need to expand it to at least 6 paragraphs. Pictures would be nice. Ask titopao if he can upload his pics on 19-20--Lenticel (talk) 01:42, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I'll be working tommorow so let's start beefing the article on the Dec. 19 evening or Dec. 20 morning. Let's use

*...that (text)? -- Article expanded fivefold on July 19, 2007 by [[User]] and ~~~~

on T:TDYK.--Lenticel (talk) 12:36, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Afternoon is okay. As for the Flickr pics, make sure that they are Creative Commons. I don't know how to verify the licenses so you're on your own if you chose to upload them. As for EDSA I, we really need offline sources. I know the Internet has a wealth of info regarding EDSA, there are really not enough resources out there to patch a FA article. By the way, I have a headache due to our own Christmas party where I acted as EMCEE/caterer (I'm in the office from 7 am to 7 pm) so I'll sleep in a little while. P.S. you need to archive your talkpage --Lenticel (talk) 12:53, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

I'll start improving the article now but won't nominate it. you'll have to expand then nominate the article. Baka sabihin mo sinolo ko na yung article. Oh, think of an interesting hook ok? Merry Christmas!--Lenticel (talk) 01:40, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I nominated the article here. Add a pic there so it will be put on top of the list. Feel free to adjust my hooks:)--Lenticel (talk) 01:03, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On 25 December, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Parol, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Do you think it's ready for Peer Review yet? ætərnal ðrAعon 07:10, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

re: Bolding

Yeah I reckon it looks heaps better unbolded. It's good to see most other people agree! Spellcast (talk) 19:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Enrique Iglesias

Thanks for your helpful and astute comments on the Enrique Iglesias GA nomination. As GA reviewing is open to anyone who is willing, you are welcome in the future to review any articles you see fit to. The Iglesias article would have been great to cut your teeth on, as it is a clear quick-fail candidate. Even if you want to avoid in-depth reviews, just doing any quick fails would be very helpful to the GA process. I would also be happy to walk through the process or answer any questions you might have. Thank you again! Hope to see you around, VanTucky talk 19:07, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Non-Free Content

Images

Hi BritandBeyonce. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. My User page, JayJ47 is looking really dull and I need some images to brighten it up. Is it possible for me to upload some non-free images and use it just for my user page, with a detailed written fair use rationale? Also if possible, i'd like to know in your opinion whether or not the likelyhood of them being deleted or kept there is at a high chance, or low chance. Thank you. JayJ47 (talk) 05:43, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Images I want

Hi BritandBeyonce. The images i'd like are the following: Covert of the albums: The Dutchess, FutureSex/Love Sounds, Timbaland Presents: Shock Value, Innocent Eyes, Dangerously in Love.

If you could find free images for these pics than please let me know. Thanks again for all your help. JayJ47 (talk) 05:57, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi!

Well I'm sorry to hear it didn't get promoted, dude, but this always happens to articles that try for FAC right after a major revamp is done and it goes through a PR. My main suggestion is try it out for GA during this time, do the neccessary alterations highlighted by the GA reviewer and it's awesome if it passes! Then I suggest you get the help of good music-related contributors like Brandt Luke Zorn, WesleyDodds, CloudNine, Ceoil, 17Drew, User:M3tal H3ad, LuciferMorgan and/or Cricket02 to help you improve the article further then put it up for PR again. After it gets reviewed, send it in for FAC, and from that point what's meant to happen will happen, I don't know because I don't control fate. I do hope it gets promoted cause it definitely has potential. So I hope I helped you :-) Good Luck and thanks for your time! (SUDUSER)85 12:25, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

GA is up for Gimme More, notes left on talk. (SUDUSER)85 14:31, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Grats! Gimme More passed as GA, I've left some notes so, check it out. Once again, Grats! (SUDUSER)85 14:55, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

EDSA

No idea really. Darn, if only I have Phil. history books right now.--Lenticel (talk) 09:37, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm not thinking of posting right now, I'll give them a month or so. Why? Because its 22nd anniversary will happen on Feb. That would put some inspiration on all Tambays in my opinion.--Lenticel (talk) 09:47, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

I suppose 200px it's just fine since it does not take so much space and it reduces quality loss. Does it have to be 300px? Seriously, I'm going nuts with this. XD Bull Borgnine (talk) 00:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Sometime ago when I read that guideline, the ideal size was 300px, but I guess they changed it. Now it's 500px - 600px, and nothing more than that. Anyway, I changed the image to 400px as I think the name of the single that appear in a 200px image is too small. In my oppinion, 400px is good, and it's in accordance with the policy. What do you think? — Jhn* 16:55, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

My Article

Hi BritandBeyonce its me again. Sorry to annoy you like this. I'd really appreciate it if you would take a look at a music-related article I created today, and improve it if you can. If it violates or doesn't meet wikipedia's policies and guidelines than please request it for deletion or give some tips on ways I can improve it. I'm am currently trying to find more sources to add to the page, so if you come across any which could be useful than please let me know. Thanks, and again sorry to bother you. JayJ47 (talk) 02:32, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Nomination

I am considering nominating you for adminship after the numerous times you've helped me with good advice, and after all your hardwork in creating and improving upon the standards of articles related to the Philippines, and also music related articles. Do you think you're ready for this? Please let me know by replying at my talk page ASAP. JayJ47 (talk) 04:24, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Re-Nomination

I'm pretty convinced you qualify for all the things needed to become an admin. When you apply they'll ask you a series of questions (some you must answers, others you don't). The discussion will go on for a period of 7 days until a final decision is made. Users will also be posting their views of whether or not they think your're ready. If your're still unsure check out these pages: Wikipedia:Administrators, Wikipedia:Administrators' how-to guide, Wikipedia:New admin school. I hope it all goes well for you, and if this isn't the time maybe look into it in the future. JayJ47 (talk) 06:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Nomination Done

Hi. You need to confirm if you want to accept this nomination for adminship here: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/User:BritandBeyonce. JayJ47 (talk) 07:35, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

final period.

Hi, but the current rule in MOS is quite clear, is it not? On one level it creates inconsistency, but not the level that matters. Confining periods to their proper grammatical role is the level that matters, yes? My concern is that allowing the option to dot or not will open the floodgates to indiscriminate dotting all over the place. Like after stubby captions such as this:

An American bulldog.

Tony (talk) 08:19, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

I think there's a feeling that forcing people to distinguish between full sentences and sentence fragments is sometimes hard (see my example a few sections up at MOS talk, which probably worked against me. And yes, there is widespread breaching/ignorance of the issue. As an FAC reviewer, I need to tell an awful lot of people to remove the dots, which is tedious. I think it's worth retaining the rule, but I'm not going to fight my friend Noetica till sunset about it. Tony (talk) 08:46, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

It's not what I want to say about MOS at FAC; FAs are required to follow MOS in Criterion 2 of the FAC. If the rule is in MOS, I ask them to follow it. Part of the deal. Tony (talk) 09:54, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Check it out

Hi. I think i've done something wrong to the page thats meant to let you apply. If you look here: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship you'll notice that yours isn't there! So if you can find out whats wrong than please fix it! JayJ47 (talk) 21:40, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Your RfA has also been moved to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/BritandBeyonce, as that's the correct title. :) Another user fixed this for you. Acalamari 22:40, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome. :) Glad to help. Acalamari 02:40, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome. :) Thanks for fixing that Barnstar too. Acalamari 17:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I've added a question, good luck. Dihydrogen Monoxide 02:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Gimme More

Apparently, it's not an official mix, just a mashup that's been getting airplay like the T.I. mix.

the remixer/producer is official though.
