File:Parade1969AhsanRV.jpg The source of this file has no license at all and is available to public...Hence it can be used in Wikipedia articles....Aliahmed47 (talk) 11:44, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

The source not mentioning a license isn't relevant and you claimed this as fair use. I'm disputing the fair use rationale not the license. Eeekster (talk) 19:56, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

How come this is not fair use...? Aliahmed47 (talk) 21:27, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

I said why when I disputed its use. Did you read that? Eeekster (talk) 22:27, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

I have changed the license of the image to CC Zero does that fix the problem...Aliahmed47 (talk) 08:50, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

No, picking another license out of the air doesn't fix anything. Eeekster (talk) 09:28, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
The file can be viewed on the source and the source has not released any license on the usage of the file nor this file had any license. This file was released in 1962 without notice of copyright. Hence, if it violates the terms and conditions of Wikipedia please feel free to delete this file knowing that this file was nominated before but left by the admin. I have unreviewed a page you curated

Hi, I'm Travelbird. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Agave shrevei, and have un-reviewed it again. If you've got any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Thanks, Travelbird

No, not really. Eeekster (talk) 10:33, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Hmm. This must have been a weird hick-up of either page curation or Twinkle as I'm not really aware I posted this. Maybe a glitch in the automated system ?? Btw: I didn't (consciously) unreview any article (is that even possible ?) Travelbird (talk) 10:37, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi again. I've looked into this, and it is apparently possible to un-review pages using the new page curation tool. I didn't actually know that this tool left messages elsewhere, and they don't seem to show up in my contributions history either. As for the missing signage: This might be a glitch in the automated programme of the page creation tool and would have to be looked into by its creator. File:Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan.jpg

File:Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan.jpgThis image appeared on the prospectus of Pakistan Marine Academy and as a former cadet of the institution I own that prospectus...This is a scanned image...I know it has been used in Pakistan Marine Academy's official website but on website it has been copied from here...I have mentioned this in the talk page of the article....Aliahmed47 (talk) 11:32, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Owning a copy of the prospectus does not give you the right to make copies nor does it mean you own the copyright of the image. Please stop uploading images until you understand copyright policy. Eeekster (talk) 19:57, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

This prospectus is of 1976 and on the prospectus there is nothing related to the use of image...So it can be used here on the article right...Aliahmed47 (talk) 21:43, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Please take your questions to Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Eeekster (talk) 22:28, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

I have changed the license of the image to CC Zero...Does that fix the problem...Aliahmed47 (talk) 08:49, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

This picture appeared on a prospectus of the institution Pakistan Marine Academy in 1976. The prospectus does not contain any copyright terms and conditions on it and the academy has also not released any such conditions on its released media whether current or historic. I have also mentioned it in the image description. If this image violates the terms and condition of Wikipedia please feel free to delete this file knowing that this file was also nominated before but left by the admin. Following the united states law for copyright any media released without notice before 1977 enters the public domain since its copyright expires. Aliahmed47 (talk) 20:42, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
I have changed the source of the image as I found the copy of the image uploaded on the Academy's Facebook page. You can refer to the entire prospectus there which doesnot include any copyright terms and conditions and was released in 1977. Therefore its copyright has expired and it is in public domain. If this has fixed the problem please remove the tag. Aliahmed47 (talk) 09:24, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Re: Proposed deletion of Punyabhushan Awards (2009–2018)

Hello. Thanks for informing me about the PROD of Punyabhushan Awards (2009–2018). I have rectified the page accordingly. --MK 08:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Did the AFD tool screw up and create that page? Eeekster (talk) 21:19, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
The deleted page was created by you and had nothing but the AfD template and associated markup, so sounds like it. Monty845 21:26, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Aerial View of Spallation Neutron Source

Hello, I'm Horakcm and am responding to your flagging of http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Aerial_view_of_the_Spallation_Neutron_Source_at_Oak_Ridge_National_Laboratory.jpg. What kind of confirmation do I need to add to the file description? I work at ORNL and SNS and can certify that the photo is in the public domain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Horakcm (talkcontribs) 17:39, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

The notice includes links to what you need. Eeekster (talk) 21:18, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Mission Marvel image

I reduced the size of File:Mission Marvel.jpg. I hope that this will comply with the fair use policy. If it does not, please let me know. This is the first fair use image I have uploaded, so I know that I might make many mistakes. JDDJS (talk) 22:22, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

File:RAAF IAI Heron on the ground.jpg:

Hi, I've just removed the tag you'd added to this image. I imagine that you're not aware that two of the Royal Australian Air Force's three Herons are permanently deployed to Afghanistan, and the third is used to support training for Afghanistan-bound army units which is conducted in remote areas of Australia. I read the Australian aviation press regularly, and can't recall seeing any stories about the single Australia-based Heron ever being put on public display. As such, the fair use claim seems fine, unless you're aware of some free images which can be used showing this UAV in Australian service. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 05:54, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Unless it is impossible to take a picture of this plane, it is not fair use to use the non-free photo. I know you are an admin, but I strongly suggest you read up on non-free image policy. Just being difficult to get a free image does not justify using a non-free one. Eeekster (talk) 09:43, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I was mistaken: at least one of these UAV's has been placed on public display: [1] (I should have thought to have checked airliners.net :o ). That said, tagging images of obscure military aircraft on the assumption that free images exist isn't a great idea given the nature of how they're operated (particularly in non-democratic countries or countries with high levels of military preparedness). Patrick_Clifford,_Promotional_Photo_2010.jpeg:

I added rationales to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Patrick_Clifford,_Promotional_Photo_2010.jpeg#Summary This page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/patrickcliffordmusic/8058647252/in/set-72157627711940107 seems to unambiguously grant permission for use. I hope I didn't assigned the wrong fair-use category to the image to start with. Please advise. Udar (talk) 07:00, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Is he dead? If not, the image is not fair use. Eeekster (talk) 09:39, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Is there no provision for authorized use of copyrighted materials? It seems to me that this is in the same category as an album cover. In fact, the photo appears in the packaging of an album; does that suggest a different category? Udar (talk) 15:58, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
