Congratulations on reaching 100,000 edits. You have achieved a milestone that very few editors have been able to accomplish. The Wikipedia Community thanks you for your continuing efforts. Keep up the good work! – From: Northamerica1000(talk) 07:51, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Please stop

hey, i was wondering if u could do one thing for me. can u STOP trying to deleting every file i put up please. - user:Kburke559

I have a better idea. You could just stop taking photos from the web and claiming them to be your own work. It is quite obvious that many of these photos are not yours. Eeekster (talk) 00:32, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

do u not have anything better to do with your life, i tryed to do all the file saying i didnt own the file and say who did, yet u still deleted it. - user:Kburke559 7:30am 01/04/12

Once again, please stop stealing files from the Internet and claiming them as your own. If you continue, you risk being blocked. Eeekster (talk) 19:58, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Budan's theorem pictures

I admit that the GNU licence is erroneously used BUT the .pdf file I inclued as evidence states that:
"Permission to copy without fee all or part of this material is granted provided that the copies are not made or distributed for direct commercial advantage, the ACM copyright notice and the title of the publication and its date appear, and notice is given that copying is by permission of the Association for Computing Machinery. To COPY otherwise, or to republish, requires a fee and/or specfic permission." which is on the FIRST page of the linked pdf. I will reupload them both with the correct licencing though.

Yes, that's what it says and, no, that is not compatible with Wikipedia policy. Please don't upload them again. Eeekster (talk) 20:05, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Garage/Psych Records

So far they don't appear to meet the notability requirements to be on Wikipedia. That's why they get deleted. Eeekster (talk) 02:18, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

How to add the copytight notice

Hi, how do I add the copyright notice to my image? It's free to use, I created it. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Transitions-transversions.png Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Petulda (talkcontribs) 11:00, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Have you tried edit? Eeekster (talk) 11:02, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

If you could provide a template for cases like this, that would be helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Petulda (talkcontribs) 11:07, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Eeekster.. thank you for your notes on the image I uploaded for Wikipedia talk:Articles for Creation/Giulio Maria Pasinetti. This image was a personal image that he sent to me and asked me to add after he saw his new Wikipedia page that I created. There is no copyright information, as it was taken by him and it was his personal request to post it. How do I properly post such an image? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Neuro321 (talk) 21:06, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

While he may have requested you to post the image it doesn't look like he provided anything on what license to use. We can't assign one for him. Eeekster (talk) 21:42, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

I have updated the image page to include its source and an explanation why I consider it is fair use. Please review it and consider removing the flag for deletion.

Thanks --Rawender (talk) 03:03, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

You do realize you've just nominated a FA for speedy deletion, one that I wrote myself, and if you checked through the history, you'd see me do it? Undoubtedly they copied it from us.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:02, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Well, I have no way to know that. All I see is a page with a copyright notice and nothing I saw there pointed to WP as the source. Eeekster (talk) 20:05, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Right at the bottom of their page is the text: "It uses material from the Wikipedia article "Mark_Hanna ".". I think it's safe to say that they copied from us - I've declined the speedy :) [stwalkerster|talk] 20:07, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
I have seen a number of news articles that have copied and pasted text from us without any attribution ... you might want to check the article history in future.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:11, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
I do try to check. But I'm not perfect. Eeekster (talk) 20:13, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
None of us are. I made a similar mistake myself, don't worry about it, just take care.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:18, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi, would you please point out the areas of copyvio on Hills Like White Elephants? Instead of deleting the page we can just stub it down. I'd be happy to do that and to rewrite. Thanks. Truthkeeper (talk) 20:36, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Just clink the report link in the speedy box. Eeekster (talk) 20:37, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
How do we know it's not a mirror site or reverse copyvio? I think that version of the page has been there for a while. I'll have to trawl through the history to pull up the exact version. Certainly the page needs to be sourced, but that's easily done. Truthkeeper (talk) 20:42, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
That can be hard to determine sometimes. Eeekster (talk) 20:43, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, if you look at the bottom of the entry it is sourced to Wikipedia. That's a clue. Truthkeeper (talk) 20:47, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on User talk:Elhyper, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eeekster (talk) 02:06, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello,

Can you please help me edit the Military for sale by owner article at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Military_for_sale_by_owner I don't know how to input the citations and the links I tried have been removed. I want to make the article legal and interesting for Wikipedia.

Military for sale by owner article

Hello,

I removed the :proposed that this article be deleted" for the link below, I have added more relative information and removed any links that may have been considered promoting an external site. Can you please give me suggestions on how to improve the article to keep it live.

Thank you,

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Military_for_sale_by_owner --Rhim15 (talk) 01:51, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

I see no reason to keep it alive at this point. Eeekster (talk) 01:52, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

This is regarding the picture (media) I recently uploaded.

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Sir_J._J._College_of_Architecture.jpg

I've taken prior permission of the creator/ author, in this case, the photographer and he has permitted its fair use in this article. I have also added a link to his portfolio, as requested by him. I also added the non-free use rationale to that media, if that was what you were looking for. The image is a very important part of the article and hence removing it would only affect the article's credibility. :et me know what is to be done and it shall be done. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyktic (talkcontribs) 20:23, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

The information on what should be done is in the notice you received. Eeekster (talk) 23:31, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Steve Ince bio photo

Thanks for your mesage about the photo of Steve Ince I have recently uploaded, as a bio entry without a photo looks quite ugly. [1] I just got his confirmation that (on my request) he has sent a Declaration of Consent to one of the e-mail addresses mentioned at the related Wiki page. [2] Does this mean that this will do, or do I still have to add something at the photo page? I must admit I am a bit confused about all the info about how to do this properly, and apparently I am doing something wrong, so I hope it will be changed after the consent is received.Gamnos (talk) 13:55, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

The OTRS people will deal with it in time. Eeekster (talk) 02:45, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello, you have left me a message on my talk page saying that my picture's copyright info is disputed (File:Animated Evil Eye.gif). The problem, is I don't know what to file it under. The website that I got it from says that it can be used anywhere. However, there is no such copyright description. Here's the link to the site that I got it from: http://www.heathersanimations.com/eye.html please leave a reply on my talk page. Thanks! Tboii99 20:01, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Eeekster (talk) 20:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
I put the proper copyright tag, so can you please remove the flag? Thanks! Tboii99 01:39, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
You make it very hard to answer when you do another edit while I typing. Eeekster (talk) 01:42, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
So are you going to remove the tag or not? Tboii99 22:25, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Gee, that's weird, your contribution history shows that you were online right before my last message, so you most likely saw it. Kinda strange that you didn't reply... Tboii99 01:37, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Not strange at all. The tag cannot be removed (by me or you) until the discussion is closed. Also removing the discussion entry, as you did, is vandalism. Please don't do that again. Eeekster (talk) 02:00, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
No problem, I won't do it again, but I changed the copyright status, so I don't see why you won't remove the tag. Tboii99 19:10, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
I'm not allowed to remove the tag. Eeekster (talk) 00:06, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

File Permissions

Hello There,

I am a professional photographer. I have worked with the band Oh, Sleeper for a few of their promos and magazine ad's now. I uploaded these, emailed the wikimedia to say that it was ok to use, yet it still gets taken down. What am I supposed to do, to give consent to use my images?!

here is the site stating its ok to use http://www.danherringphotography.com/?p=681

here is the work in question.. Thedeadbadger (talk) 22:07, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Thedeadbadger (talk) 20:43, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

If OTRS clears them, they'll be kept. Eeekster (talk) 22:58, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

So even though for example, right now, the old image is back up. If my image gets cleared it will go back up? Or do I have to continually put my image up until it clears.....

Thedeadbadger (talk) 23:17, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

When your image is restored, you'll need to edit the article to put it back. Eeekster (talk) 00:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

How to properly upload an image

Hi,

I was given the OK by the subject of a Wikipedia page to put a picture on her page, but it was speedily deleted for 'blatant copyright infringement.' I want to know precisely what I need to do to upload the image properly and attach it to her Wikipedia page. The image was already removed, but the article is still there, at least. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Layla_Anna-Lee ---JV (talk) 03:26, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

The copyright section of the help pages can tell you better than I can. Eeekster (talk) 19:18, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
With all due respect, you had marked it for "speedy" file deletion, not even giving me time to say anything about it. You presumed it was a blatant copyright infringement without even letting me state anything. I'd like assurance that you won't do anything like that again without actual just cause, as I will quickly tire of the cat and mouse game. ---JV (talk) 04:22, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
What makes you think I didn't have "actual cause" for the speedy? Eeekster (talk) 07:27, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I had permission to use the image. ---JV (talk) 15:27, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
So you claim. But just saying that doesn't work here. And I don't remember there even being a claim of having permission. Eeekster (talk) 16:16, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I had noted, when uploading the file, that the subject had given me permission to use the photograph of her likeness, which you are patently ignoring. I will consult the copyright section on my own, as you are not willing to give me more direction on where to look. You have actually been very little help to me, but I want to thank you for your time anyway. ---JV (talk) 11:25, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Candleabracadabra

Thank you for your firm words to Candleabracadabra; this user is persistently fighting to get me to restore and userfy a copyvio that he wrote, and it was helpful to be able to point to what you said rather than trying to come up with something fitting by myself.
