From now on would you be willing to edit only the talk pages of articles you have a COI on? You can use {{Request edit}} to make proposals, which another editor will assess and add into the article if it keeps to policy. Currently the system is rather backlogged, but given the publicity you've generated I'm sure your requests would be answered relatively quickly.
