Easy there Re: Article about Slut

[edit]

Nobody is an idiot. Vandalism still occurs after a page is semi protected. Registered users who vanadlize a page still recieve the same warnings from administrators when caught by one, as a person who edits with an ip. In this case you were bold and caught the vandalism and thats all that counts is to make wikipedia a nice place, not a place to insult others. JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 06:24, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • From what I could tell at the time, someone vandalized the page and then it was later semi-protected with the vandalism still on it. I was irritated because there was no actual review of the page's content before it was semi-protected in the vandalized state. If an article is semi-protected with vandalism still on it, it both connotes that the article is not currently vandalized, and it makes it impossible for unregistered users to revert the vandalism. Imagine if the subject of derision on "slut" found the insult, and couldn't revert it! Edman (talk) 18:12, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Now it becomes apparent that when the vandalism occured the page was semi-protected. At the time I was editing it, it didn't appear that way in my browser. Edman (talk) 18:15, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
