While I understand the COI guidelines that have been provided, I am quite alarmed by user "DaHuzyBru" obsession with this being some sort of sock puppet editing. TBT Headquarters is located in Boston, MA. Two of our interns attend Boston University and live on campus. Therefore, when making the edits, they are both using the same WiFi Network (aka: BU's school-provided network). That's why the IP address is coming up as the same. I would be happy to confirm that these are two different people using any method that is suitable to you. ---- Josh
- An "obsession" is not quite the word I would use. Have you advised your two interns to edit in the exact same way in the exact same format? I can only go off my experience with sockpuppeting and that is why I raised it.
- Most of the players that the TBT info is being added to have merely trivial mentions in sources. Rarely do any of these players have reliable, independent articles dedicated to them being involved in TBT. None of the edits your supposed interns are making have any sources provided, so that is grounds for anyone immediately challenging the validity of the content. Yes, I gave these interns a standard format to use while editing these pages. As I mentioned, I would be happy to do anything necessary to substantiate these claims, including sharing email receipts that clearly show the timestamp, who received the emails, and the format I gave them to use to edit these pages. Your claim that TBT only gets trivial mentions in sources is not correct. While some teams get more coverage than others, I can point to at least one article for EVERY SINGLE player that was edited that shows that these are accurate stats. Many of these include regional or major metropolitan newspapers, respected sports websites such as SB Nation and ESPN, and college athletic websites. With that being said, I understand that the fact that I didn't instruct the interns to provide sources was a mistake.
- My point above was not that TBT only gets trivial mentions – it's that the players only get trivial mentions in relation to TBT. Provide some example sources here if you can. Are you going to go around to all the player pages and added references? DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:41, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

How come Big 3 is allowed to have its own section on bios but TBT is not? Their league does not currently have a television deal (all of our games are shown on ESPN), our ratings have consistently been higher, we've garnered more media coverage, and we've been around longer. Why are we classified as insignificant, but they are not? --- Josh

Hello! I am this user's boss at The Basketball Tournament. He notified me that there was an issue with him editing pages of players who compete in our event.
Just wanted to give a couple of pieces of background:
- Contrary to what was stated in the discussion page, this is NOT the same person editing on multiple accounts. The IP address may appear the same since they both attend the same college and are using the school-provided WIFI network.
- I take exception to the notion that TBT is an insignificant, minor league tournament. All 63 of our games are broadcasted on the ESPN Family of Networks. In addition to the countless overseas professional athletes that compete in our tournament and represent their alma maters, guys like Chris Paul, DeMarcus Cousins, Marcus & Markieff Morris, and several other NBA players serve as coaches. None of these guys would classify TBT as "insignificant".
- One google search of The Basketball Tournament dispells your false notion that there is "limited sourcing" about TBT out on the internet. It is one of the most covered basketball events of the summer. Our ratings are frequently higher than the NBA Summer League and even USA Basketball Olympic Qualification games.
- Countless NBA and overseas executives use TBT as a scouting platform. It is crucial for them that they have access to our players stats.
