PNG vs JPG

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you uploaded at least one of the PLANTS maps. In the original these are PNG files, which is a good choice for maps and other line drawings. Converting them to JPG creates artifacts (look closely around the edges of each states, and you'll see a fuzzy kind of effect). See Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload for more information. Hi

[edit]

Hi; you're welcome. Hope to see you around. You might consider putting Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Plants on your watchlist. All sorts of interesting questions and discussions arise there, though the bias is more towards systematics and biology than ecology. Hesperian 12:22, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

welcome to new york city

[edit]

I see at the plants project that you are in NYC--I hope you will be interested in Wikimedia New York City, the New York City Chapter. We meet every other month, usually at Columbia, but in January there is something special: Wikipedia Day NYC, a celebration that will be held on Sunday January 24, 2010 at NYU. Please try to come to some or all of it. If there's anything I can help you with, just let me know, on wiki or by email--and please sign up for our mailing list, at [1]. Science lovers wanted!

[edit]
Science lovers wanted!
Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! Sarah (talk) 01:34, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Low marsh

[edit]

The article Low marsh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
