Scandinavian migration to the United Kingdom

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Scandinavian migration to the United Kingdom, is considered bad practice, even if you meant it well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:40, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your advice! I'm rather new to Wikipedia (as a contributor), so appreciate the guidance! I felt that the User's criticism of another's contribution was non-constructive and needlessly strongly worded. In future, I'll attempt to redirect the discussion towards collaborative contributions to improve content, rather than tinkering with other's comments. Great, many thanks. In future, if you disagree with a comment, it's best to just say so by adding your own comment underneath (unless the comments are particular offensive, when there is a case for removal - see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines). Cordless Larry (talk) 09:41, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
