Thanks for uploading Image:BombCasings742c10.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

This is your only warning: Please do not add obscenities to Wikipedia, like you did in Kristy Morgan. Injecting obscene pictures to articles or user pages offends many people. Wikipedia treats such actions as vandalism and blocks people from editing for such repeated vandalism. -- P.B. Pilhet 22:18, 27 August 2006 (UTC), Counter-Vandalism Unit[reply]

Playboy models of the day

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I have listed all of the articles on Playboy models of the day for deletion, because you haven't written anything which indicates their notability. If they are noted for anything other than having been chosen one of 365 modesl of the day, then please indicate on the article pages. Also, your use of the Playboy centerfold infobox is inappropriate, because they aren't centerfolds. User:Zoe|(talk) 23:19, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citing sources

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you added new information to Me & U — we thank you for doing so, but in order to satisfy our verifiability policy policy, we need to know from which sources you got that information. Just adding a link to the article next to your addition would be all right, or you could put it in the article's discussion page. If you need any help, feel free to ask me at my talk page. Thanks! Avian flu

[edit]

Thanks for trying to help at avian flu but the minor details about one country's laws coping with this world wide problem are not appropriate for the avian flu article. A seperate article on Hungary and H5N1 could be done as someone tried to do for India. WAS 4.250 22:14, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post copyrighted material on Wikipedia, as you did with Saul Landau and http://www.counterpunch.org/landau08292006.html. It is a violation of Wikipedia policy and United States law.--Curtis Clark 16:05, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Although using sections from references may seem a good idea, it is not. Direct usage without clearly stating that it is from another author is plagarism and a copyright violation. Fair use covers quotes and incidental use, not insertion as your own material as this appears to be. LinaMishima 20:50, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not stop posting copyrighted material, as you did on George W. Bush's second term as President of the United States, you will be blocked. Please only contribute original material. Thanks. ~MDD4696 18:25, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:BloodDiamond.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BloodDiamond.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nilfanion (talk) 22:16, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Tiffany Sterling, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:VinceGillThesedays.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:VinceGillThesedays.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 18:41, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:CharlotteSullivan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CharlotteSullivan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 19:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
