Misplaced sandbox?

Hi there. A few minutes ago, you created a live article called "/German_Book_List" - I think that you meant to make it in your own user space, so I've moved it to User:Ebnielsen/German Book List.

If you did actually intend to create the article, then please note that Wikipedia is not a directory, so it would be likely to be removed.  Chzz  ►  22:53, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also userfied the other two English and German book lists you created. Please note that Wikipedia is not for indiscriminate lists, so it wouldn't be a good idea to keep creating lists that appear to be random book lists. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 23:05, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
They're now at User:Ebnielsen/English Books and User:Ebnielsen/German Books

Welcome and introduction

Hi, Ebnielsen. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  22:51, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

A tag has been placed on German Books, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. A tag has been placed on German editions (since 1993), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A little insignificant Talk to me! File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:File:Salvage.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ZooFari 06:01, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jones Salvage Yard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Jones Salvage Yard. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 21:42, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Team's headquarters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. Those images were already copyrighted under the relevant laws. You did not get a release allowing others to use, re-use, modify, etc. these images; which is the only kind of release that would permit their use under our licensing agreement. We cannot accept any restrictions such as "only for use on Wikipedia"; "not for reprinting or re-use"; "only for use on certain articles"; "do not modify"; and so on. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:09, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is that the permission given was not sweeping enough. Because images are subject to much more draconian and specific laws, we must be equally rigid in the restrictions placed on their use. Wikipedia's purpose is not the dissemination of images, but rather the spread of knowledge; so the restrictions on images do not interfere gravely with our primary function. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:26, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
