Hello Jacquelynstucker. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jacquelynstucker. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jacquelynstucker|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 16:59, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not being paid for these edits. Jacquelynstucker (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You identified yourself as her publicist. You are not paid for this role? 331dot (talk) 17:03, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not for creating her Wikipedia page, no. Jacquelynstucker (talk) 17:03, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are paid by her in any capacity- such as being her publicist- you are a paid editor and the Terms of Use require you to make the formal disclosure I describe above. You do not need to be specifically paid for edits or instructed to edit. If you are her publicist, editing Wikipedia clearly falls within your job duties. 331dot (talk) 17:06, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't something I generally do for clients, but Jacquelyn is a new client and didn't yet have a Wikipedia page. Please advise how to add in the required disclosure. Jacquelynstucker (talk) 17:12, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please also be aware that existence does not equal notability. A person or thing doesn't merit inclusion in Wikipedia merely because they exist; they must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to be included. In the case of a musician, the notability criteria are detailed at WP:MUSBIO. Also because she is a living person, any article about her would have to conform to Wikipedia's strict policy on biographies of living persons. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:17, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jacquelyn meets criteria 1 (reviews and biographies featured on major arts organizations' websites worldwide), 4 (tour of Vier letzte Lieder in USA in 2020, 2021), 6 (multiple leading roles at operahouses in Europe and US; can be verified by contracts), 9 (Glyndebourne Cup, 2018; Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Semi-Finalist, 2017), and 12 (Glyndebourne Cup documentary on Sky TV). Happy to provide citations -- just let me know what is needed. 85.54.37.68 (talk) 17:21, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Please post the following as it appears when you view this page, not in the edit window on your user page(User:Eastofeternity) :{{paid|user=Eastofeternity|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}} and fill in the information requested(as much as you can, at least).
We don't have "pages" here, we have articles. This is an important distinction. There are still some unsourced portions of the draft. Every substantive piece of information in an article about a living person must have a source, see the biographies of living persons policy. 331dot (talk) 17:19, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you advise what information about her in the article is not substantive? 85.54.37.68 (talk) 17:21, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mean to suggest that anything is not substantive, just trying to emphasize that all information in an article about a person must be sourced. Her astrology information is still unsourced(since you, if understandably, don't provide a date of birth) and I'm not sure it's really encyclopedic anyway. I would just remove it. 331dot (talk) 17:25, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Will remove -- she is a fan of astrology and asked me to include it. 85.54.37.68 (talk) 17:25, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I hope that she is aware of what she is getting into. There are good reasons to not want a Wikipedia article(see this link, and she should read it too). She (or you as her representative) does not get to exclusively dictate what appears there, nor can she prevent others from editing it. Any information about her, good or bad, can be in an article about her as long as it appears in an independent reliable source and is not defamatory. 331dot (talk) 17:29, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:32, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand where to post
{{paid|user=Eastofeternity|employer=Jacquelyn Stucker LLC |client=Jacquelyn Stucker}} 85.54.37.68 (talk) 17:25, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On your user page, you can click your username at the top right corner of the screen, or just click User:Eastofeternity. Make sure you don't have the "nowiki" tags around it when you do, this will suppress its proper display. 331dot (talk) 17:26, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like this is done. Can you verify? Eastofeternity (talk) 17:27, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) I have done it for you, on your userpage (User:Eastofeternity).
Please log in to your account, as you are currently logged out. As I said below, please ensure that you are logged in while editing, otherwise your edits will be recorded as the IP address you originate from. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:28, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am now logged in. Sorry -- I think in changing my username I missed my chance to log back in with my new username. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:29, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Am I able to resubmit the article? Eastofeternity (talk) 17:30, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You may resubmit it if you have address the sourcing issues and believe that she meets some aspect of the musician notability definition or more broadly a notable person. 331dot (talk) 17:32, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Before I resubmit, are the sourcing issues sufficiently addressed? Eastofeternity (talk) 17:33, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a source for her repetoire? I mean, I believe you when you say she performed in those operas, but it needs to be documented somewhere that can be verified(as an opera is not like a film or TV show where it can be viewed by a reader and has written credits). 331dot (talk) 17:36, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It can be viewed on Operabase, which I've linked to under "lyric soprano" in the first sentence of her biography. I've also linked to reviews for everything else. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:47, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Some archival material on Operabase can't be viewed unless the viewer has a paid subscription. It is, however, a reputable industry database that is maintained by neutral editors. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:48, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like that would work. Needing a paid subscription is not a barrier to using a source(as long as anyone can buy a subscription), see WP:PAYWALL. 331dot (talk) 17:53, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great. To be safe, I've removed anything that can't be found on Operabase with an unpaid subscription or by Googling her name with the role in question. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:54, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just resubmitted. Let me know if anything else needs a second look. I really appreciate your help here -- this is the first Wiki I've had to create for a client, so many thanks. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:55, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just checking in to see that my edits make sense here. Eastofeternity (talk) 16:13, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

If you are not Jacquelyn Stucker, you cannot use her name as your username, and you must change it immediately. I can change it if you tell me what you want to change it to. 331dot (talk) 17:00, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi -- please change the username to stuckeradmin_MWA. Jacquelynstucker (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's not individualistic enough. I assume "MWA" is the name of your agency- usernames cannot be that of a position as accounts are for specific individuals only and may not be shared. You don't need to use your real name, but you need to use something unique to you. 331dot (talk) 17:05, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please change my username to eastofeternity. Thank you. Jacquelynstucker (talk) 17:14, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I will post above in a moment. 331dot (talk) 17:16, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. 85.54.37.68 (talk) 17:16, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Eastofeternity, if that was you who left the last comment, then you were logged out. Got it -- many thanks. Eastofeternity (talk) 17:27, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
