Proposed deletion of Mrenh Gongveal
[edit]The article Mrenh Gongveal has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- A search for the terms in Khmer and English only brings up the self-published book by Keith Kelly and in its original state the article heavily used it as a reference. The article for the book Mrenh Gongveal: Chasing the Elves of the Khmer (currently up at AfD and likely to be deleted) used the same sources, but there's nothing here to show that these sources explicitly back up the claims that there are legends, myths, and stories about these specific beings or that they differ from the basic idea of elves. A search for the various terms and spellings only brings up hits to Kelly's book or other things he has posted to the Internet.
The article is essentially unverifiable original research since very few of the sources are ones that we can access. I also got the strong impression that the article was written to promote the book itself, as it utilized the book quite heavily and the references here are the ones that the author used to write his book. There's also likely a strong WP:COI here that was not disclosed.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:10, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
