The Odd Men Out & Ryan Ogden
[edit]Sorry about all of that. We're just a small band like the article said, and I thought it would be fun to put us on there. Ryan is one of my best friends, so any 'criticism' I wrote about him was just a joke. I see why you need to crack down on that, though. You'd never know. But if you'll allow I'd like to make another Odd Men Out page a few pictures, whatever else. Thanks a lot, and it's understandable why you wouldn't want us on there.

username block
[edit]You recently blocked the username user:пенис. Your justification was that usernames consisting of "symbols" are not allowed. First off, this name does not consist of symbols -- it is my name in non-latin (Russian) script. The very policy you linked to -- Wikipedia:Username -- does not ban names in non-latin script. Rather, it simply says that they may not appear correctly on some computers and the strongest language included in this policy states: "If your name is written in a non-Latin script, consider providing a transliteration in your signature (which you can set in your preferences), and a link to your userpage (and preferably your talk page) in your signature to allow other editors to contact you easily". That is, there is no basis in wikipedia policy for permblocking a username that is written in non-latin script, as wikipedia policy merely suggests (and does not require) steps that can be used to mitigate confusion caused by usernames written in non latin script. I hope that you will reconsider this permblock. Thank you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Bozobuddy 19:52, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Move request
[edit]When able could you move HMM-266 to VMM-266. Change happened on March 23 and I am unable to do so as an anon user. Also, just out of interest, VMFA(AW)-332 deactivates on March 30. Thanks--203.10.224.58 05:06, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Done. I'll leave it to you to fix the double redirects ([here]. — ERcheck (talk) 07:16, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Heh
[edit]Heh :). If you want a breather from RC patrolling, you could always fix the two links I can't touch (David A. Yeagley, Tyrannosaurus both have a [[Peabody Museum]] that should point to [[Peabody Museum of Natural History]]). No worries, either way. | Pat 01:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- I can't. They're protected. | Pat 12:45, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Can't do as much basic housekeeping as I used to.
- Well, it's not as rock solid as a respected journal, but here's a link to a February 19, 1989 Connecticut Guide[4] that mentions a number of (then-)current events, including "Bad Eagle and His Descendants" (open on the 19th and 20th. While it's a local event section, it's still the New York Times. I'm amazed it turned up; that's centuries ago in internet time, and I was drawing a blank on a library search. | Pat 01:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Great News
[edit]I have some great news. RADM DeLoach from the Pentagon called me and they are interested in my work and want me to work in collaboration on a project about Hispanic Naval and USMC grads. It can be done in Wiki and I told them yes. I was thinking about recruiting you and Looper. I don't know how it is going to be done yet, but I was wondering if you would like to be part of it.
This is part of an e-mail that I received from Rear Admiral DeLoach:
Tony the Marine, The honor is mine to speak to such a dedicated patriot, educator, and writer. I marvel at your ability to collect, research, and synthesize vast of amount of material into great stories and articles about our cultural heritage. You are truly performing a great service for the future generations of our Country...

USMC
[edit]I believe there is more than enough good stuff for you guys to qualify for Wikipedia:Featured topics. Maybe you should think about putting something together?--203.10.224.61 04:22, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- Working on it. See the USMC Portal talk page. Your input is welcome. — ERcheck (talk) 21:43, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
