- Welcome to my OpenTalk-page! Please, feel free to respectfully post any sort of material, information, or media in our respective "Talk Topics".
- Conversations are to be structured in accordance with the general Wikipedia layout. Discussions shall procede with the most recent comment being placed at the bottom of the current header without jumping topics. Please make links where possible to assist the growth of this page.
- Messages intended for consideration beyond any of the listed topics are to be placed in the "Recommendations-Box", or "Common Area" (posted below in the Table of Contents). Do not start a new topic (outside of the designated areas) without permission. All unsigned entries will be deleted within 24 hours of their posting. The Common area will be "cleaned" weekly.
- Topics which span an area of conflicting views will adapt eventually to express optimal objectivity, there are a few rules to ensure the security of posted messages, these are your "Rights and Tenets of Speech" (posted below).
- As you read this line of text, our precious OpenTalk-page is severely lacking material, please contribute!
I am the arbiter de-facto of this realm. I will oversee and mediate any and all page-activity. DO NOT POST ON MY PERSONAL USER PAGE! I here-by cite all relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. I will eradicate any changes to my User page, and any sort of ongoing pestering, or trolling, will be reported appropriately. Enough said on the subject of conduct and R.E.S.P.E.C.T, you may commence, now! Jk (or am I Jk? To be continued...).
Thanks again, your tirelessly dedicated and always Anonymous-

[edit]Rights and Tenets of Speech
[edit]Rights
[edit]I am in the process of ammending a "Constitution". All rules are subject to change and up for reconsideration. Here at OpenTalk, as of Dec 18 2011, you have the Right to:
- 1. "Speak freely and without censure"
- 2. "Keep, and voice a personal opinion"
- 3.-
Tenets
[edit]- 1. "No one (excluding Thaavatar, and any appointed personnel) should for any reason, at any time Erase another's work.
- 2. "There is no need for bad-mouthing or slanderousness, and it is looked down upon"
- 3.-
Recommendations-Box
[edit]- I encourage you to Recommend new topics to me in this "Box". All recommended topics will be selected or discarded within 24 hours of the time stamp. Thaavatar will personally respond to each request until there are 100 topics.
What "OpenTalk" is or isn't

Meaning (linguistics)
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to our article meaning (linguistics)! It's always good to see editors interested in linguistics topics, and your help is very much appreciated. I noticed that you'd posted an SOS message on the page itself, and I've made some formatting fixes so now it is looking a lot better. That effect happens when you leave a space a the start of a line in the edit box - I just deleted the space, and the effect was gone. Have a look at the cheatsheet linked in the welcome post above for more formatting help, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have, about linguistics articles or about editing Wikipedia in general. I'll be happy to answer. You can ask on this page if you want, as I will be watching it. All the best — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 16:39, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Proposed Deletion
[edit]Deleting work needlessly? I'm not deleting anything. I'm merely tagging an article for proposed deletion due to no references, and dubious notability. The message I sent you was a courtesy notice. Screaming, by the way, "HEY GUY" on my talk page was unnecessary. --Axel™ (talk) 17:03, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
By the way- if you improve your list, add references, etc., you can the the proposed deletion notice off. But you must fix the article first.--Axel™ (talk) 17:13, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Bolinas, California. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 17:17, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Bolinas, California, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 18:03, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hi again Dylthaavatar - I saw your question on Cindamuse's talk page about how to best find consensus on pages, and I thought you should check out our essay on the bold, revert, discuss cycle. Many editors here follow that cycle as a way to find consensus with the least stress possible. I also second the advice to always leave an edit summary! Again, let me know if you have any questions. — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 02:10, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Are you active?
[edit]I am contacting you on behalf of WikiProject Linguistics. You have not made an edit in the last 6 months so please reply within the next few days, or your account will be moved to the inactive participants list and nothing could make me sadder. :'( Speling12345 (talk) 4:57, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
