Welcome!

Hello, Dykeflower, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!--Mishae (talk) 16:30, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've read the page about Categories and I'm still confused. I am a novice on Wikipedia and I am working on my forst article. Are categories automatically filled by cues from the article? Must I create them separately? Can you please provide guidance on how Categories work in general. Thank you. (Dykeflower (talk) 02:09, 23 September 2013 (UTC)).[reply]

Hi Dykeflower, welcome to Wikipedia! Categories are added to articles manually, by editors. You add categories by typing [[Category:name of category]] at the bottom of the page you're categorizing. (While using the "edit source" editor, that is.) However, one thing to be aware of: article categories don't go on draft articles, like the one you're working on. Wait until it's a full article to categorize it. Hope this helps! Howicus (Did I mess up?) 02:33, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, it's been a while since I've worked on this article but it's complete now. I can't figure out how to move it from a draft to a published full article. Thank you! Dykeflower (talk) 04:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC).[reply]

I have put it through WP:AFC and added the submission template on the top. Also just an FYI that new comments should go on the bottom of your talk page. Cheers, Mkdwtalk 07:26, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi hi. My article is waiting review. Can I add Categories to it now? Or do I have to wait until it's a published article? Also, I don't quite understand where to enter them. See above for help from user talk Howicus who says to just add them to the bottom of the page. Dykeflower (talk) 17:09, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
