Hi. Can I ask why you're drastically reducing some paragraphes on Iraq? It looked a little strange at first glance so I reverted a couple times, but I'd like to ask what it's about. Thanx/Sorry. 68.39.174.238 04:22, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Massgraves-iraq1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 13:46, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Dannywhitelandry.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. An image that you uploaded, Image:Landrysuperbowlxii.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Lou Engle. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. -Andrew c [talk] 15:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of The Call (religion)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Call (religion) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bfigura (talk) 03:05, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I removed my speedy deletion tag, as I'm not sure the organization is what I would call "speedy material". I did tag it for notability (explained on the page), so if you can improve the references to suggest why this group is important, that would be stellar. Speedy deletion of Lou Engle

[edit]

I deleted this article again due to speedy deletion criteria A7. This article has been deleted due to WP:AFD in the past, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lou Engle. If you want this article to stay, you need to make sure it meets our criteria. You need to explain how this subject of the article has gained in notability since the last deletion discussion. Please see WP:BIO and WP:N. This subject of the article must be established to be notable through non-trivial coverage in multiple sources which are independent from the subject. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. But please, do not recreate these articles again if the article you create doesn't pass our basic inclusion criteria.-Andrew c [talk] 03:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
