Levi B. Frost House and Asa Barnes Tavern

[edit]

Hi. It looks like things surrounding these two articles (Levi B. Frost House and Asa Barnes Tavern) have become chaotic. Please stop undoing the changes that experienced Wikipedians have been making to these articles. We are making those changes to help the article conform with Wikipedia guidelines and conventions such as the manual of style.

As a new contributor, you likely aren't familiar with all aspects of the way things are done at Wikipedia (there's nothing wrong with that -- all of us were new once, and it takes a while to figure things out here; heck, I've been here several years and I'm still learning).

It is not a good idea for an encyclopedia to have two or more articles about the same identical topic. When a topic is known by two different names (as in this case), we create one article and use redirects to point the other names to that one article. In the case of this house, it appears that the National Register of Historic Places calls it the Levi B. Frost House. Therefore, let's use this name, and redirect the other name to point to it. If you have reason to believe that "Asa Barnes Tavern" is the primary name of the building, I suggest that you start a discussion at Talk:Levi B. Frost House (the discussion page for the article) -- explain the situation to other Wikipedians (cite sources if you have them) and let other interested contributors weigh your ideas and the evidence. Repeatedly reverting the edits of others is edit warring; it accomplishes almost nothing (other than causing aggravation) and it can lead to your account being blocked. --Orlady (talk) 02:14, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your editing

[edit]

Your editing is disruptive. Please stop. Tiderolls 04:31, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The link you are changing is describing the war, not the troops. You need to find a source that states the troops were French, then add that content. I will not warn you again for this disruption. Tiderolls 04:35, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your block

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for for disruptive editing at Levi B. Frost House. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Tiderolls 04:46, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I pointed out twice that you were changing an interlink incorrectly, and explained how you could add the content you desired. You also deleted an image from the article without explanation or discussion. I've only blocked you for 24 hours to stop this disruption. If you do not find a way to see how you were being disruptive and return to the same methods you will more than likely incur longer blocks. I will watchlist this page in the event you have any questions. Tiderolls 04:46, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
