- Hello Alhutch,
- I already wondered if it is usual here to welcome new users. I already have some experience, but thanks nevertheless for the advices :o)

Userbox Wars
[edit]Hello Alhutch,
I just read this on your user page: "I wonder if you might consider simply removing your political/religious/etc. userboxes and asking others to do the same. This seems to me to be the best way to quickly and easily end the userbox wars."
As a great fan of userboxes (see here) I would appreciate information regarding the "war".
-- Greetings, Dudenfreund 08:17, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- i think the "wars" over userboxes have sort of died down now, thankfully. there were a lot of disagreements about them, but i believe people have sort of just learned to live with them now. feel free to use all the userboxes you want. i was going to remove that notice from my user page, but i found that it messes up the layout, so it's still there. see you around the wiki, --Alhutch 17:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I see, thanks :o) Another question: I tried to create an english version of this template, but I am unable to use the picture from the Wikimedia Commons. The reason is a file with the same name that is uploaded only in wiki-en. I don't have any experience with uploading, renaming or moving pictures, what do I have to do?
- -- Greetings, Dudenfreund 13:49, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- thanks for the note, what i would do would be to download the file from commons, then upload it to wikipedia with a distinctive name, different from the file that's already here. sort of a roundabout way to do it, but that's the best i can think of. drop me a line if you need anything else.--Alhutch 03:55, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
What is this?
[edit]Hi! Can you explain what this user sub-page is? My lack of German makes it difficult for me to understand the dispute that's happening around it. -FisherQueen (Talk) 12:17, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Request for deletion of user sub pages
[edit]Hi Dudenfreund, I will request for deletion for your imposing fleet of user sub pages as misusing the project. (FYI unless you didn't make any edits in here since 18 June 2006, less than 100 contribs over all.)
- Main reason: WP is not a host. The sub pages have nothing to do with building up an encyclopedia. You may use other webspace or your own harddrive for saving ("Sicherung") - whatever.
- Second: Copyright violation because it's C+P pages from german wikipedia without history, without permission (see [1]) of the original contributors.
- Third: There's no content-related context here in en:wp for flames, cabals, personal attacks, discussions, whatever from another project.
For underlying policy see WWIN:not a webhost and the advices given on UP:copies of other pages in user sub space and UP:ownership of pages in sub space. --Rax (talk) 22:45, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Dudenfreund. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Dudenfreund~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
