Speedy deletion of Rory McCann

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Rory McCann requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Roleplayer (talk) 16:58, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as the edit you made to Antonia Bernath. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Stifle (talk) 21:13, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you are quite an excellent wikipedian! I apologise for putting my signature at the bottom of the page on Antonia Bernath, I am fairly new so therefore I don't have the wikipedian knowlege. sorry for causing you inconvenience! I really want to help wikipedians, like you helped me, but don't know where to start. I would love some advice!

Don't be sorry, it's fine! Read Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers for more information for new users. Stifle (talk) 10:44, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi this is my talk page! Just give me a holler and i will reply.

Scotland

[edit]

Hi

The ordering of the leaders at the Scotland article has been decided by a consensus of Wikipedia editors. Please do not change it without discussing it first. If you think the order should be different please explain why at Talk:Scotland and wait to see if a majority of editors agree with you. That is how Wikipedia works.

Thanks, and happy editing. DJ Clayworth (talk) 20:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. As I said, if you believe that the ordering should be different for any reason you need to explain why at the Talk:Scotland page and wait to see if a majority of editors agree with you. If you have further messages for me you can write them here and I will see them. DJ Clayworth (talk) 20:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see no problem with listing the First Minister above the Brown, in the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales articles. PS- I'm not sure if there's a 'First Minister' for England however. If there's no 'First Minister' for England? there might be problems with subverting Brown in these articles. GoodDay (talk) 21:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, just thought I'd let you know there is a vote going on at the Scotland talk page concerning the discussion you began. --Jack forbes (talk) 14:17, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course you can, everyone has the right to vote. --Jack forbes (talk) 19:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to WikiProject Theatre!

Thank you for adding your name to our project membership list! Our goal is to make Wikipedia the the finest, most comprehensive resource of theatre topics available online. As a project member, you might like to introduce yourself on our talk page and maybe add the project membership userbox to your user page.

If you haven't done so already, please add our main project page to your watchlist and browse our page of useful templates. When you have a moment, please take some time to review our article structure guidelines for theatre articles, which give a handy guide to sections you should try to include in articles about theatre. If you would like suggestions about where to start, we've gathered a few suggestions in the Project to do list and in our tasklist.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the project talk page or on my talk page. Again, welcome and happy editing!

WikiProject Theatre May 2008 Newsletter

The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter (May 2008)
The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter!
Issue 3 - May, 2008

Welcome to our third newsletter - we've got lots to get through this month so without further ado, let's crack on...

The Big Debate - Character Lists in Play Articles

For those of you who haven't headed over to our talk page recently - you've been missing out! Throughout the past month there's been great discussion about the issue of character lists in play articles. The aim is to form a standard presentation of character lists to be used on all play articles so if you'd like to make your voice heard on the issue then check out the talk page now.

Collaboration of The Month

Yet again this month's COTM has remained unchanged as no-one has nominated any articles to become the new incumbent. Quick - get yourself down to the COTM page and nominate an article for next month!

Assessment

The number of articles at the Assessment page are growing - if you're feeling a little lost and don't know where to begin to help us out, head on down to the Assessment page and give us a hand.

New members

The past month has seen Dereksmootz, Duckie for broadway, Dozenthey, Fewster, Nrswanson, Kleinzach and Broadweighbabe join us - welcome to you all! It's wonderful to see such a large influx of new members.

If you've been editing a theatre-related article recently and noticed another user helping you who also appears to have an interest for the subject of theatre, why not drop them a line and invite them over to the project?

HELP!

We're crying out for people to help us out wherever possible. We are currently looking for members to volunteer to give us a hand in several areas. If you can do any of the following, please drop us a line at the talk page:

  • Newsletter Editor(s) - Always fancied yourself as a bit of a journalist? Perhaps you could help us write this newsletter - it doesn't take long to compile. Maybe you'd like to help but can't commit on a regular basis? In that case, why not rally round a few other members of the project to help you out and take it in turns each month to compose the newsletter?
  • Mailmen/women - If writing the newsletter isn't your bag then maybe you could help in the distribution of this fine document? As our membership grows it becomes quite laborious to send it to everyone. It's only a quick task that needs doing once a month, and really is just a case of copying and pasting a template onto our members talk pages.
  • Portal editor(s) - It's come to our attention that the Theatre Portal hasn't been updated in a long time and we'd like to get someone, or a group of people to take charge of it and get it up to the standard of some of the great portals out there (e.g. the Comedy Portal, the Solar System Portal etc).
And finally...

Don't forget to add the WikiProject Theatre userbox to your userpage to spread the word about the project!

A tag has been placed on Dramarama 2000 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay.
