Information icon Hello, I'm 4TheWynne. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Patrick Cripps, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 02:04, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Luke Davies-Uniacke, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page APS. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:40, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please STOP adding categories to living people when there is no mention of that category in the article text, such as this. If you continue to do this, you may be blocked from editing due to disruption. Please reply here to state you understand this. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:27, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

stop I have reverted the vast majority of your category additions as blatant WP:BLPCAT violations. In order for such categories to be added, they need to be supported by reliably-sourced content within the article. You can restore any of the reverted categories as long as they meet WP:BLPCAT and WP:CATDEF. Mass addition of such categories despite being amply warned by multiple editors will lead to a block of your account, so please review the links provided.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:58, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Categorisation

[edit]

Please, when you create a new category such as Category:People educated at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, please add categories to it in turn so that it can be found by humans and maintenance bots traversing the category hierarchy. It's really important that categories are not simple metatags but part of the hierarchy. Thanks. Le Deluge (talk) 15:41, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
