Speedy deletion nomination of Dr. Richard O'Dell
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dr. Richard O'Dell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —Ascii002 (Talk • Contribs • Sign my Guestbook) 15:04, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Dr. Richard O'Dell, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Dr. Richard O'Dell. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Notes
[edit]Please read WP:RESUME. What you posted looked very like a CV (Brit term for resumé) to me. Wikipedia isn't a host spot for CVs. LinkedIn is fine for that, if you want something more posh than Facebook. Otherwise, please read WP:AUTOBIO which explains about (not) writing about yourself, and WP:BIO about writing about people in general. WP:RS is useful too. I'm afraid it's easier for a rapper to get an article than for a doctor. Don't ask me why. Peridon (talk) 15:59, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
The article Dr Richard ODell has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Please stop
[edit]Kindly refrain from recreating articles about yourself - Wikipedia is not about you. Wikipedia includes biographies about living people, but not those written by the subjects themselves. You are incapable of being an objective judge of whether your life's accomplishments are notable enough to be considered worthy of inclusion. Please let a disinterested third party do it with the backing of reliable sources. If you truly believe that you deserve an article, please use either the requested articles or articles for creation processes. Thank you. --Drm310 (talk) 06:58, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
