Carano vs. Cyborg Card

The article that you posted doesn't indicate that Werdum is out, just that he is uncertain. Also, earlier I had changed the fight order to match the order as shown on sho.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.87.53.88 (talk) 21:01, 3 August 2009 (UTC) Well, this article states otherwise about Werdum http://mmajunkie.com/news/15715/fabricio-werdum-scratched-from-aug-15-strikeforce-card-promotional-debut-delayed.mma . We should probably keep him off the card until we find out for sure, but I just wanted to let you know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.87.53.88 (talk) 22:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mixed_martial_arts#Quinton_Jackson.23Feud_with_Mo_Lawal, input appreciated. --aktsu (t / c) 13:45, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi, with the recent removals of Kim's amateur record I started a discussion/poll at Talk:Kim Dong-hyun to determine whether there's consensus to include it. Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 19:48, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mixed_martial_arts#List_of_.22notable_fighters.22_at_Strikeforce. Sorry for spamming so much, but as you've probably already guessed I just want to get things like this out of the way so I can do productive things instead or edit warring with people. Thanks, and BTW I haven't forgotten about your message about flags I've just never gotten to responding to it (because of stupid things like this using up my available editing-time :\). I'll get to it soon though. Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 08:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Flags

Yeah, I don't think we'll get anywhere if we bring it up again -- especially not right now as there doesn't seem to be too many of us active. Maybe later this year would be a better time... You're probably better off just ignoring the edit warring and let the IPs have their fun as there's not really a "correct" flag since it could potentially mean a number of things. The only thing I take action over is people add flags to the infoboxes as they shouldn't contain any flags whatsoever per WP:MOSFLAG. I also don't add them when I create articles, and when I come over an article with an outdated recordbox I usually end up removing them since I just replace the entire thing with the one from my record-box-creating PHP-script. Baby-steps. The whole nationality-issue (which is amplified by the flags) I think is pretty silly and unimportant, but thankfully I've gotten pretty good at ignoring it. :) --aktsu (t / c) 08:47, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

UFC 100

Hi. Didn't know about "advertising material" here. I haven't edited in 3 years....since Spike will re-air UFC 100 with unaired prelim bouts how can I make it so it doesn't violate the rules? Should I just wait until after the new broadcast? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.104.235.200 (talk) 19:24, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Be careful

Be careful not to be drawn into an edit war and violating our WP:3RR policy. I noticed that there is an ESPN affiliated link that you may be able to use to source some of the information. Take a look at WP:REF on how to add inline references to cite the information. If you need a hand with this once the page protection expires, or you want to format information on the talk page to be added to the article before hand - feel free to drop me a line. You can request editing to the page while it is protected by using the {{editprotected}} template. Best — Ched :  ?  08:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Regarding Carano vs. Cyborg

The reason that I am referencing the Showtime card as opposed to the Strikeforce card is for the following reasons. 1. Showtime updates their site more frequently than Strikeforce and has never listed a fight that isn't offical 2. Coker was checking with Showtime as to which fight they would rather have or if both could air 3. The fact that Strikeforce's own press release dosn't indicate what the 4th fight is...http://www.strikeforce.com/news/news.asp?story_id=195, at the end there it says "The Aug. 15 fight card features three world championship fights and a fourth fight TBA." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.215.131.102 (talk) 21:07, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Here is another reason, make sure to watch it the whole way through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeDGXDqG6vk She mentions Werdum and nothing about Hieron or Taylor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.215.131.102 (talk) 23:23, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

How 'bout this, if I'm wrong I will never edit on wikipedia again and if you are wrong you never edit here again? Change it if you like, but you don't have to be a jerk about it. You'll have to change it back to my card anyway before the fights occur on Saturday. And speculation my ass, they wouldn't mention Werdum on that video that they released today if he wasn't on the main card. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.215.131.102 (talk) 23:39, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I never called you a name or was uncivilized. Anyway, I am not wiki fluent so I don't really know how to source things real well. I suppose you do, so if sourcing with editors is the only problem I aplogize. But, I could swear we were in disagreement about the last fight on the main card. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.215.131.102 (talk) 23:53, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Holy cow, I did not call you a jerk. I said you don't have to act like one because it seemed to me like you were being very uptight and angry about this by your wording in certain sentences.69.215.131.102 (talk) 00:03, 14 August 2009 (UTC)--69.215.131.102 (talk) 00:03, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Tito Ortiz

How in gods name was my edition of legacy considered contrevrsial. These facts are all stated by the documentation of his time in the UFC. all the facts were grouped from the afcts alreay in tyhe page. If your jealous i put it up before you thought of it then thats unfair. My information is not bogus nor contreversial as you stated dude. No, in this case where what he's involved in seems to be content disputes rather than blatant vandalism it doesn't matter how many warnings he gets (in the same way you wouldn't get me blocked that way unless I was actually vandalizing as defined by WP:VAND). WP:DISRUPT is probably the most relevant guideline in this case, and per that your best bet is explaining the situation at WP:ANI and getting admins to look into it. I'm not sure there's a point in doing that as it stands though (at least going by your warnings which is about flags and whether Carwin-Lesnar is accurate). You should probably just stop using the warning-templates altogether and instead explain what's wrong with his edits. If he then continues there might be grounds for a block for disruptive editing (him never responding or explaining his edits doesn't particularly help his case) or a edit warring block should he continue to do the same edits over and over but without actually breaking 3RR. For the latter you really need to not be the only person reverting though as you'll probably get blocked as well, and that pretty much goes for the former too as it shows he's actually being disruptive.

(That said, I haven't really looked too closely on his editing-history, just the most recent edits, so there might be grounds for a block already. The correct venue is definitely ANI and not AIV though since his most recent edits doesn't seem to clearly be vandalism.)

Hopefully that helps, and I'll definitely keep an eye on him as well :) --aktsu (t / c) 23:37, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

(Can't be bothered to create a new heading) There's a discussion about whether "mainstream emergence" is a accaptable term (as a heading) for describing Strikeforce's expansion in 2008/2009 at Talk:Strikeforce where your input would be appreciated. --aktsu (t / c) 15:20, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah... Not sure what to say really. Not sure I feel like getting into an edit war right now either, I'd rather watch Eagles vs. Colts which just finished downloading (:D). I say it's best not to change it until in a few days or so so that as many people as possible gets that change to chime in and thus show a clear(er) consensus. --aktsu (t / c) 19:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Just one simple problem, the discussion completely ignores all the relevant sources out there. The proposition that you used to justify sources for the section was simply yours and not wikipeadia's. MMAweekly is a credible source as well as others.Sea888 (talk) 23:54, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: Chiefwi66ums

Yeah, might be a sock- or meatpuppet but it's not like it's impossible he just happened to stumble upon the talkpage either so no reason not to assume good faith for now. --aktsu (t / c) 03:18, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Is this website (that I, and many others have never heard of) worth creating an article for (one that seems to be an advertisement basically might I add)? Also, he's edited his pound for pound rankings into every top fighters wiki..

Didn't know if this was kosher or what you think? (pinchet (talk) 17:36, 25 August 2009 (UTC)) Gavyg03

WT:MMA

Yeah, I missed it - thanks for the heads up. Nicely done, will probably be good reference should the issue be brought up again :) Too bad it probably can't be used for anything encyclopedia-wise as I can imagine it took some time to compile (I thought going through Strikeforce's 20+ events to compile its list was bad enough) :\ --aktsu (t / c) 15:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Thiago Silva wins by KO not TKO

when I said Jardine lost by KO because he was unconscious, that was evidence the official decision was a KO, and it is officially a KO, and says so on Sherdog and UFC.com, research before you end up proving yourself wrong, making it look like you don't know what you're doing and looking like an idiot. Itsmacko (talk) 22:12, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

What's with all the angry people lately? :\ Is is because we're getting close to fall/autumn? --aktsu (t / c) 22:51, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, nothing to add really. Hard to assume it's anything but WP:OR with the edit summary "Jardine was unconscious". I just happen to always go to the ACs since they're the actual authority on results, unlike both the UFC and Sherdog. Too bad some of them still don't publish the reports online though (I'm looking at you CSAC)... --aktsu (t / c) 23:09, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
