Disambiguation link notification for March 14
Hi. When you recently edited Tennis and Badminton Club of Reykjavik, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:Bahrain Red Crescent.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bahrain Red Crescent.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:07, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:A Bahraini Tale.jpeg
A tag has been placed on File:A Bahraini Tale.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 22:22, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
The article A Bahraini Tale has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Doesn't appear to meet the notability guideline for films or the general notability guideline
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – hysteria18 (talk) 19:18, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of A Bahraini Tale for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article A Bahraini Tale is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A Bahraini Tale until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. – hysteria18 (talk) 09:52, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Reconstructed Late Bruial Moundin Bahrain Museum.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. File permission problem with File:Bassam Al-Thawadi.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Bassam Al-Thawadi.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 21:41, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Protected areas in Bahrain.png
Thanks for uploading File:Protected areas in Bahrain.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:39, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Bahrain GAN
Hey,
I'll help with the GAN. Did you fix all issue raised in the Peer review? Mohamed CJ (talk) 09:22, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! Well, I've done the crossed-out parts, the governorates and military repositioning part, telecommunications and sports, plus updated the economy bit. Also fixed the dead links. Only thing left is to summarize the History bit because it is unnecessarily long (and the History of Bahrain page already has these data, so we can merely link it as the main article), compared to other good articles such as Croatia and Scotland, the history section (at least the Al Khalifa part) needs a good summary. Besides that, the only thing left are technical issues such as reference formatting. Should be a good candidate! :) --Droodkin (talk) 09:51, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Bahrain pearling trail DYK nomination
Hey, the changes you made aren't sufficient. "The structure of this sentence is the same as the original with too much similarity within the structure of the paragraph". I know this is annoying, but I recommend reading Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing to understand this better; this will help you avoid the problem in future. Mohamed CJ (talk) 12:52, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Mina Salman
I've removed plagiarism from the article. I recommend using Duplication Detector tool in the future before nominating articles to DYK. Most of the references used currently are primary, which isn't helpful when establishing notability and might make the article end up going through WP:AfD. To assert notability, per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), you need to insert secondary independent sources (it's always better to use secondary sources when available, because use of primary sources is very limited and in most cases it is not enough for inclusion in the article and doesn't help with notability). I've searched Google and found those, perhaps they can help you. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. Mohamed CJ (talk) 13:55, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Mina Salman
On 17 July 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Mina Salman, which you created or substantially expanded. License tagging for File:Manama areas.png
Thanks for uploading File:Manama areas.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:07, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

To-do list
Hey, I saw your To-do list, it's always good to have an updated one so others know what you're planning for and can help you with it. I see that you want to expand the article History of Bahrain. This article need great expansion, especially the modern history part. You might as well want to create a new article Modern history of Bahrain. I created Background of the 2011–2012 Bahraini uprising a while back and that was a bit hard, because I had to search for references as those topics were not covered in any other article. I know it's far from complete, but nevertheless it's good as a start. Two of the best sources I heard of are Khuri (1980): Tribe and state in Bahrain and Belgrave’s diary (both banned in Bahrain, because they contradict "the 'official,' sanitized version of Bahraini history that the regime has worked hard to construct"). There are also other important sources mentioned here. So when you plan to write that article, let me know ;)
Other important references/works |

I know they're too much, I'll keep it here as a reference for me and you.

DYK for Janabiyah
On 21 September 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Janabiyah, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the village of Janabiyah in Bahrain is home to hundreds of prehistoric burial mounds and that artefacts obtained from excavations show that the Dilmun civilisation of Bahrain engaged in trading with the Indus Valley civilisation? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Janabiyah. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Muharram in Bahrain, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://mybangladesh-info.blogspot.com/2009/10/hossaini-dalan-mourning-of-muharram-is.html.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Muharram/Ashura in Bahrain
Hey, I've uploaded some images which I took this year for the sole purpose of including them here on Wikipedia. I didn't get time to reply to you, but I liked the idea. Anyway, I've uploaded most of them here. Inshalla I'll upload the rest tomorrow, and when I get time I'll work on the article. Also some describtion wasn't complete, because it used it as file name in beginning, which has a character word limit, this also explains file order. I can't promise you I'll do anything though. About the article, I've got many to say about it, but good work anyway :) Mohamed CJ (talk) 19:44, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

In The News
I've seen your nomination. While I don't think it's the best story to nominate, it was a good attempt. Don't make the result of it stop you from nominating any other events you think are notable. Sometimes you don't even expect it, but your story gets posted. Oh, and try to write some strong reasons about why it should be posted such as countering systematic bias, being prominent in mainstream media websites, having a significant effect or being a milestone, adding variety, having a well-written article.. etc. It's all about the opinions of other Wikipedians and your ability to convince them. Mohamed CJ (talk) 22:52, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

History books
I took your advice to rely more on books. I got Tribe and state in Bahrain by Khuri (1981). But I wasn't able to get other books which I think are important. I'm planning to write Modern history of Bahrain and since you love history I know you will help with that. It would be nice if we can get access to other books as well (such as these). I will start a stub at my user page (here) and move it to main space when I think it's ready (for obvious DYK-related reasons). Mohamed CJ (talk) 07:34, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I was also wondering at which date should the article start with. Mohamed CJ (talk) 07:52, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I found some of those books in the National Library next to Fateh! Pretty sure you can borrow them or have them photocopied. We can move most of the stuff in the History of Bahrain page (the 20th century bit, at least) to that article and leave behind a summary in the article. Great idea though, I'll be sure to help when the time arises! As to the date when Modern history starts? It could start from the 1920s, assuming that we take the reforms of the 1920s as the start of the state in Bahrain. We could go old fashioned and start from 1783. Or from 1820s if we take the arrival of the British as the start of Modern Bahrain (Remembering their treaties and all). Looking at sample pages like Switzerland, Egypt and Yemen, modern history starts from the era of industrialisation and/or independence. I'm not sure at which date to pick though, though it has to be either the 1920s or prior. --Droodkin (talk) 12:25, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- Good that you reminded me of Al Fateh library. I've been there before, you can borrow many books, but not those considered to be "reference books". Instead you can read and photocopy them. This is the nasty part, you have to do it yourself, and there is only one photocopying machine there, so you have to wait if someone else was using it.
- I've finished reading the first chapter and I think it would be a good idea to start from 1783, however I plan to go into much more details than the current History of Bahrain does. The article misses a lot of details. For instance there is no mention about the allies of Al Khalifa, how they treated the population and the intra-tribal wars within Al Khalifa. If I find the article getting too long (because I just love mentioning details), it would be a good idea to spit it into two or even three; History of Bahrain (1783–1869), History of Bahrain (1869–1973) and Modern history of Bahrain. I choose the year 1869 (or 1868), because it is the time when Britain took almost complete control over Bahrain and this meant that there were no foreign challenges to the rule of Al Khalifa, instead internal challenges became the most important. Mohamed CJ (talk) 10:24, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- I think that is a great idea. 1783 is a good starting point. I agree with your 3 article system. I'll try to help when time permits me! --Droodkin (talk) 12:08, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Sources
Thank you very much for the help you offered so far and I hate end this with "but", but it would be much better if we used different sources. The article currently relies almost completely on one source. That is not good and won't get us anywhere near GA or FA that this would be masterpiece deserves. So I highly recommend using other sources. However, should you insist on using it, I won't stop you. For me, I'm using it currently, because I've never studied Bahrain history in depth before and as I'm reading through it I learn new things. And I plan to include more sources after finishing it. Again, I express my appreciation of your work. Mohamed CJ (talk) 16:33, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm the one who should be thanking and praising you! I mean, look at the article! It's fantastic (sure, we need to diversity our sources), job well done, my friend. Time restraints these days make it hard to contribute to Wikipedia :( Your efforts are commendable and brilliant, you're a national treasure, my friend! (I've found this to be useful, if you wish to replace the citations for the international part of the article). --Droodkin (talk) 17:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- Ha! Thanks! The 'national treasure' remark made me blush, then laugh on myself :D I must say that reading my own country's history is very interesting, It is so interesting that it took me away from politics despite being only 10 days away from the second anniversary of the uprising. I was able to match many stories that I've heard of with facts. It's disappointing that we weren't taught about this in government schools and it's more disappointing that the same book I'm citing is still forbidden from publication. College is starting next week, so I'll try to do my best before that ;) Mohamed CJ (talk) 18:27, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed it is, my only complaint is that I keep forgetting what page I was on because darn Scribd doesn't have any bookmarking features :( I agree, it's a shame that it's not taught (I mean, it's pretty cool to brag that we fended off an Omani invasion at least 3 times! :P). I know the feeling, I'm currently on break but school restarts this week. Hopefully, it'll mean more time for editing (and finishing my To-do list with regards to the villages of the Northern Governorate). --Droodkin (talk) 18:52, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
- You can download all pages on Scribd for free. Just make sure you pass through all of them (you can probably skip through 5-10 pages per second if your connection is fast), then right click on the side of internet page and choose "save as" and make sure you change "Save us type" (under file name) to "Webpage, complete". After the download finishes, you'd have the whole book downloaded for free. I've done so, then printed it, because I found it difficult to read and because paper makes it feel more "real" :P If you have any difficulties, let me know. Good luck. - Hey, One is still greater than Zero :P I've posted lots of old photos on a blog I run, I'll try to track down the sources to fulfill the PD requirements. I've found the Prime Minister's biographical website and that has a lot of old photos (including ones of a young Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa). But the website gives no detail of the copyright status of the photos, so I don't think we can import it here. Then again, some photos come from 1930s and 1940s which mean their copyright is supposed to have expired by now. Have a look through the site! --Droodkin (talk) 10:13, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Moving article to mainspace
Hello,
I might not be able to finish the article in time, but I'll write the lead and move it to main space. It would be much better if we can write it until independence, so the next article can deal with another era. So I'll give the article such a title. For now I guess copying some sections from History of Bahrain can be sufficient. Mohamed CJ (talk) 10:32, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

List of educational institutions in Bahrain
Hello Drookin,
I want to inform you that I made a table for the List of educational institutions in Bahrain, since I think it would be much cleaner compared to the old list that was kinda of messy. What do you think of it? Please inform me if you find it good or I should revert it to the old list.
Plus, the page has some schools missing, for example: High Quality School and New Vision School, both located in Maqabah (I will add them soon to the list).
Thank you, Bahrani Student (talk) 12:41, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
- The table is definitely an improvement! We can expand based on this table, like adding a "Year established" column or "Curriculum" column. Also, I noticed that there are some government schools mixed in between; while I do know there are hundreds of these schools in the country, we can in the meanwhile, split the page into Public schools and private schools. And yes, by all means, if you can expand the page then you definitely can & should! Good work and happy editing! --Droodkin (talk) 12:53, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Tunisian Baathists
Thank you for your contributions. I'd like only to make remarks about the allegiance of the Party of the Arab and Democratic Vanguard. This party like the Baath Movement is also linked to the Iraqi faction, as there is no formal "syrian" party in Tunisia. --Katous1978 (talk) 16:48, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Bahrain museum panorama.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Bahrain museum panorama.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Manama
Hi Droodkin. As per your request at the Map Workshop, the 1926 map of Manama is coming along nicely and it should be finished in a day or so. Whilst poking around related WP articles, it appears (based on the map), that there are some inaccuracies in Manama related articles - Manama Souq says that Fareej el-Fadhel et al are districts of the Souk, which is not true. Do you want me to fix these or do you want to do it? Best Regards, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 18:08, 14 September 2013 (UTC) p.s. Your user page says you live in Bahrain. Do they have a record office that might have old maps of the city?
- Hello! First of all, thanks once again for taking the effort to make the map. I checked up on it and it's a mistake, apparently. The fareej-es are residential quarters, not in the souq but adjacent to it. I'll fix it up tomorrow (or sometime soon), thanks for pointing it out. --Droodkin (talk) 18:48, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Robert Hill (biochemist).jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Robert Hill (biochemist).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Stefan2 (talk) 20:55, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:BAPCO logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:BAPCO logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:39, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Capital Governorate Bahrain.gif
Thanks for uploading File:Capital Governorate Bahrain.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.
You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:47, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I am trying to verify the above article, which has no references. I have found references to "Qit'at Jaradah" and believe it may be the same place. Can you confirm? Thanks. MB 18:46, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, I have looked around and found references to Qit'at Jaradah in page 2843 of International Maritime Boundaries, Volume 4. I believe that Qisrat Jaradah may be another name for the islands but it is evident that Qit'at is the official nomenclature. I would suggest swapping Qisrat with Qit'at in the article & redirecting Qisrat Jaradah to Qit'at Jaradah. Thanks for asking! --Droodkin (talk) 10:20, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
- OK, I have done that. It seemed obvious but I have no familiarity with Arabic so I wanted to be certain. This change cleared up several red-links in WP and "de-orphaned" the article. One more question where the answer seems obvious from the context: There are several articles that refer to "Al-Jaradah", such as Territorial disputes in the Persian Gulf#Bahrain and Qatar. Do you agree that these should also be changed to Qit'at Jaradah? MB 14:31, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, the Al-Jaradah mentioned is in reference to Qit'at Jaradah. Thank you for fixing the article, it's much appreciated! --Droodkin (talk) 17:04, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.
I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. Also be sure to check out the Wikipedia Asian Art Month affiliate event - creating articles on Asian art topics can get you a Metropolitan Museum of Art postcard!
If you're interested, please sign up here for the English Wikipedia. If you are interested in also working on other language editions of Wikipedia, please visit the meta page to see other participating projects. If you have any questions, please visit our talk page.
Thank you!

Invitation to participate in study
Hello,
I am E. Whittaker, an intern at Wikimedia with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.

DYK for Petra Stienen
On 17 June 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Petra Stienen, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Dutch Arabist Petra Stienen was awarded the Aletta Jacobs Prize by the University of Groningen for "using her work to represent and transmit the voices of women who would otherwise not be heard"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Petra Stienen. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Petra Stienen), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for June 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yousif bin Abdulrahman Fakhro, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bahraini (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

As someone who knows how time-consuming well-researched edits can be, I thank you for the work you've put in. Hi Droodkin, I hope all is well. Thank you for moving the Barjeel Art Foundation article to a proper Wikipedia page. I have moved the edits to the new page. - Hello A.karim.kh, I moved the page unilaterally in the interest of time as reviews for draft articles take months to manifest and I believe the article is of adequate quality and notability to warrant its own Wikipedia page. If, in the event it does get considered for deletion, we can make our case to keep. Yes, the article should appear from Google. Droodkin (talk) 19:42, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Take pity on colleagues with poor connections
Hello. It appears your talk page is becoming quite lengthy and is in need of archiving. According to Wikipedia's user talk page guidelines; "Large talk pages become difficult to read, strain the limits of older browsers, and load slowly over slow internet connections. As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 KB or has multiple resolved or stale discussions." - this talk page is 204.4 KB. See Help:Archiving a talk page for instructions on how to manually archive your talk page, or to arrange for automatic archiving using a bot. If you have any questions, place a {{help me}} notice on your talk page, or go to the help desk. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 12:25, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
