Hi Drewbeedooo! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!

Wikipedia Assignments 1 & 2

[edit]

Completed.

Wikipedia Assignments 3 & 4

[edit]

Myself, Elowe08, and DaChavey09 are forming a group to approach one of these topics: 1, Co-Cultural Theory. 2, Identity Management Theory. 3, Communication Accommodation Theory. 4, Cultural Convergence. I won't try to approach DaChavey09's awesome intro. Only know I fully endorse it.

Wikipedia Assignment 5

[edit]

My group has picked Identity Management Theory Some sources I've looked into are below. Colin Tredoux, et al. "Social Identity Theory And The Authoritarian Personality Theory In South Africa." South African Journal Of Psychology 33.2 (2003): 109-117.
Niens, Ulrike, and Ed Cairns. "Identity Management Strategies In Northern Ireland." Journal Of Social Psychology 142.3 (2002): 371-380.

Wikipedia Assignment 6

[edit]

I have begun editing the original article in my Sandbox.

Wikipedia Assignment 7

[edit]

I am unsure what it means to move the articles into the main space. The original Identity Management Theory page is so ill-constructed that we will need to reconstruct it altogether, instead of just editing it.

Wikipedia Assignment 8

[edit]
  • Working in Sandbox on Article.
  • I would like to review the articles of Jamesmin89 and Aflemington11, since they look interesting to me!

Hello Drewbeedooo, I have been peer-reviewing your work thus far and you are doing a good job. You are making it very clear as to what your assignments are for our class and how you are accomplishing them. I look forward to seeing your complete work. This is an interesting theory and it is important for those who aren't Communication Studies majors to understand this as well. I will keep in touch. JAtwan09 (talk) 20:55, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
