WOOD BROTHERS/JTG RACING
[edit]Please forgive me if I'm using improper formatting or the wrong manner in which to address you or this topic, but I'm still a noob in the world of Wiki. I'm trying but especially with dyslexia it can be a challenge ;-).
I am the original author of the history of the Wood Bros. Racing Team page/post, which was mercifully merged into the JTG page. It took me a long time to write the original post which I did out of admiration for the team and for the history of the sport. My appreciation to you and others who have helped keep the page full of info and updated.
MY QUESTION FOR YOU: Since it looks like you are the one who disputed the NPOV on the original WBR page, could you PLEASE (I ask respectfully) please remove the dispute tag box thing?
I don't think the history of the WBR team is exactly a hot button social commentary issue like racism, abortion, or politics -lol. I already posted in the talk page for that listing that I am the original author and a lifetime fan and friend of the team (and NOT an employee). I did a TON of fact-checking and research to guarantee accuracy which is supported by facts and over 50 years of well-known team history. As with most NASCAR teams there's not a whole lot of controversy anyway. And I think you can read in the history sections that I went into greater detail about families, crew members, etc. than most any press release would ever include.
Again, I'm sorry for bugging you with this - but you seem like some kind of Wiki Yoda Grand Master or something, thus any changes could easily be done by you whereas it would be hard for me to figure it out (no, I'm not retarded but I'm a carrier for the disease!). So please, if you have a second - it would just be a lot less confusing and frankly, less unattractive, if that NPOV box were not there. I'm not sure how to give you my personal contact info without publicly broadcasting it - but I'd be glad to answer any questions you have about me, the team (as I know them) or any disputed facts you may question. The first part of my email address is dreamimageprods (which is all one run-on, case-insensetive word) and the second part, after the AT symbol, is yahoo dut commm. Gee, that's REALLY clever of me huh? (okay, maybe not so much).
Oh yes, one more thing if you could spare another second? The 3rd section down on the Wood page, with the header titled: International success 1960s...if you read it then you can see it reads silly at the beginning by starting the paragraph mentioning the Indy 500 win. That makes little since because the story of that win is not explained until the end of that section, thus seemingly out of place. I think if you read it, you'll see what I mean. Is there a way you can delete that line? Or re-write it? I just think it would make more sense that way and also would be mroe journalistically correct as far as story-telling flow.
Well, sorry to bother you, and I appreciate your help and contributions to the service of Wikipedia. I really am trying to read all the HOW TO info and learn how to properly do things on here - which can be a challenge with a full-time job. But it is "edukayshunul". So if you could simply remove the dispute box and tinker with that Indy 500 mention, it would really mean a lot to me. Especially if some kids or racing newbies were trying to learn about the Wood team...they might be confused as to what may be in dispute or something. Thanks again, and keep up your great, legendary work on here! Written/Posted on Sept. 26 2007 at 1:45am EDT.
Alternative to Creation and Evolution
[edit]Your article states "Because divine creationism and atheistic evolution are mutually exclusive..." evolution isn't atheistic. Its a scientific theory, which has nothing to do with religion. It isn't atheistic any more than gravity is. If that is the postition of a book, then that belongs in an article about the book (if noteable.) If that is an assertion of the article, it is horribly POV and factually incorrect. Further, evolution does not even address the question of origins of the universe. - Thanks and apologies: I grabbed the wrong name, an obvious lesson to me not to multitask so much. That said, I would have appreciated a little courtesy - surely you have made at least one mistake in your life? KillerChihuahua?!? 17:56, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your additions. However I have reverted the Category of Australian Politician. The Administrator is not a politician but the Queen's representative. None of the other Administrator pages put them in that category. Bduke 01:07, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi Drdisque! I noticed you've contributed to fair few A1 Grand Prix driver pages, and thought you might be interested in joining WikiProject A1 Grand Prix, an attempt to get all A1GP info standardised and up-to-date. It's moving a bit slowly and there's a big "to-do" list, so any help would be greatly appreciated! To join up, just go to the project page (linked above) and add yourself. Thanks AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 12:02, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
You dont know much
[edit]The only fact and opinion is you who dont know crap about anything, then again you dont know nothing. Things written are things which happened and since you are not a boxing historian you will not find these info anywhere!

You nominated Brigadesoft for speedy deletion. It does not meet any criterion for speedy deletion. Please only nominate for speedy deletion unless you can give one of these criteria. Annoying though it may be, an argument of non-notability must be pursued through AFD. jnothman talk 07:52, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I've removed the speedy tag, I reckon you should put this through AfD if you want to get rid of it, as I don't think it quite meets the speedy criteria. Thanks - FrancisTyers 00:31, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Summary tags
[edit]When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --NaconKantari 00:57, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Bud Moore
[edit]Did you mean to remove the Category:Living people from the Bud Moore article?[1] He is still alive, isn't he? --TantalumTelluride 04:27, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks for the response! --TantalumTelluride 05:30, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for voting!
[edit]Hello there! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to vote on my arbitration commitee nomination. Although it was not successful, I appreciate the time you spent to read my statement and questions and for then voting, either positively or negativly. Again, thank you! LGBT Rights Opposition Category/Pope John Paul II
[edit]This was added (by me) removed by another and then added by me again. Pope John Paul II was a vocal opponent of gay equality. To place him in this category is not to judge him for taking this position but merely notes that he fits into this category and this enables the category to be a useful resource.--Sjharte 21:03, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
I commented on your tagging this article for copyvio. My understanding of the copyvio rules is that the offending text has to be from a commercial source, whereas this text comes from a political organization. I tagged it "pov check" because I think that if it were renamed, rewritten, and displayed notability it could be a good article. Please let me know your interpretation of this. --GunMetal 20:16, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

- With all due respect, I think speedying Trout Bum 3 minutes after its creation was a violation of WP:BITE. Thatcher131 22:02, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Please do not restore prod templates. Prod is for uncontroversial deletions only, and as the notice says, removing the template is the correct way of objecting to the deletion. Please see WP:PROD#What this process is NOT for. NickelShoe 16:26, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
AFC
[edit]Hi Drdisque. Thanks a lot for helping out at WP:AFC; we're always swamped and lots of requests go unfilled. When you do create an article, don't forget to list submitter's IP or username in the edit summary to satisfy the GFDL. I left a note in PacWest Racing's history, which should be good enough this time. Thanks again for your help. ×Meegs 12:36, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
ARCA racers -> ARCA drivers
[edit]I have nominated that the category "ARCA racers" be renamed "ARCA drivers" in order to be more consistant with other categories like "NASCAR drivers", "American Speed Association driver", etc. Please click here for an explanation of the problem, and a link for you to leave your comments. The problem could significantly affect WikiProject NASCAR. Royalbroil 00:52, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Iowa Speedway
[edit]My POV.
My corrections made to the Iowa Speedway article that you do not want published are not biased corrections but are instead documented facts. The IRL (Indy Racing League) has not yet stated that they will sanction races at the speedway and to insinuate that they probably will demonstrates that you are not aware of the Speedway's past history of constantly dangling a carrot in front of the public, unless of course you are associated with the speedway.
The link I provided to my website of archived documents and past and present newspaper articles pertaining to the evolution of the Iowa Speedway since November of 2000 is pertinent and should be left in Wikipedia for others to click on, unless of course you are associated with the speedway and you are not proud of the past history of the speedway and you want to censor it. Here is that link: [2]
You state that the Iowa Speedway is likely to pursue future NASCAR Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series dates. That is probably true but it is a half-truth which leads the reader to believe that NASCAR has agreed to sanction races at the speedway when in fact they have not. NASCAR has stated that NASCAR does not believe at this time that it is in the best interest to sanction any of it's racing divisions at a proposed facility in this geographic location. When I posted the link to the actual NASCAR letter stating this fact which the Governor of Iowa and others received, you deleted it. Why? It is a fact, it is a part of history, it is obtainable to anyone through the freedom of information act since it is a public document and it is indisuptable. Here is that link again: [3]
It is my POV sir that you are the biased one. Please don't mislead the public. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80205JS (talk • contribs)
