The Bright Idea Barnstar
[edit]For your idea to train specialist admins for specific functions. (If that wasn't actually your idea, then let this be a Barnstar for sharing it where it was very much needed on the Village Pump Policy page.) I would LOVE to see that implemented! Dcs002 (talk) 18:04, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- I suppose I should claim co-idea-creator with Quackguru since it was loosely based off the ... "essay"/"loose collection of idea" ... about reforming Wikipedia's practices. The section I based my idea off was #Poor administration around paragraphs 2 - 3. But I'm gonna be
greedyscholarly and take the whole barnstar. Thank you Dcs002 for the stardom and I'll copy this over to my userpage. Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 22:58, 27 January 2016 (UTC) - Done but I added a table around it to avoid breaking my current set-up. Again, thanks and cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 00:36, 28 January 2016 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!
[edit]Thanks for the administrative wiki work you do. It smooths over difficulties and makes for pleasant wiki time. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:42, 28 January 2016 (UTC) |
- Blue Rasberry Might I ask which page this "work" you speak of was done on? I do some admin/clerical work on several and I'm just curious as to which.
Thank you for the coffee, I hope it's a caramel mocha, extra chocolate, takeaway! Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 03:41, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

[edit]I think that you forgot to make the case as open. I have marked it as open. (This is not about collapsing a comment. I agree that that comment needed collapsing.) Robert McClenon (talk) 19:30, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

RFA Flamethrower
[edit]It's just a friendly name for the block button. Titoxd(?!?) 21:48, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- LOL, I've never heard it called such but it certainly apt considering how many flame-wars get started from blocks. Thanks for letting me know Titoxd. Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 23:45, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Mukti Bahini
[edit]No problem I can help with any translation or clarification on Mukti Bahini you may need. With RegardsVinegarymass911 (talk) 17:49, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sweet! I'll update the status at WP:GOCE/REQ so they know that I am working on it - though if I don't do any edits for more than 5 days, feel free to ask if someone could pick-up where I left off. I will try to have this copy-edit finished in 2-4 days, though it could take more or less time. Anyway, time for the c/e'ing to begin. Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 23:34, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, so first question for you Vinegarymass911: "
Bengali was the only language in Pakistan not written in the Persian-Arabic alphabet.
"- Is this meaning the Arabic script alphabet? - Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 03:51, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, Persian-Arabic alphabet here means Arabic script alphabet.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 03:53, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

- That was fast, and thank you Vinegarymass911. Second question; "
Television broadcasters in East Pakistan started broadcasting Rabindranath songs, a taboo in Pakistan, which reduced programming from West Pakistan.
" - slight c/e from the original- Is the "reduced programming from West Pakistan" meaning that;
- a) West Pakistan programmes reduced their broadcasts in response
- b) West Pakistan listeners stopped listening to the broadcasts
- c) Something else?
- Thanks, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 04:26, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- Happy to help. Television channels in East Pakistan decreased the air time of programs made in West Pakistan.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 04:46, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- Is the "reduced programming from West Pakistan" meaning that;
- Third; "
Civilian interaction decreased with the army as they were increasingly seen as an occupying army while local contractors stopped supplying the army.
"- Which army? This should be clear to any and all readers not an assumed, as the article discusses several armies and various factions. Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 04:29, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- This is the Pakistan army. Locals are the Bengali people.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 04:46, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

- Fourth, Vinegarymass911; "On 27 March, Major Ziaur Rahman declared independence and moved out of Chittagong City."
- Independence of what, from what? Unit from Pakistan Army? Bangladesh from Pakistan? Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 02:11, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan, in a radio station in Chittagong City. The source says then he fought his way out of Chittagong (with Bengali soldiers from his unit). Cheers.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 03:21, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

- Fifth, Vinegarymass911;
It[who?] extensively mined the Passur River in the Sundarbans, reducing the ability of Pakistani forces to operate from the Port of Mongla.
- Who mined the Passur River? Was it the commandos? Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 06:09, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- The source says the two ships, which are mentioned later in the paragraph, laid the mines. Cheers. Vinegarymass911 (talk) 06:15, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Warns against "a foolish consistency" which I considered actually apt. Collect (talk) 01:58, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Might need a {{Note}} tag then to explain that. Soon as I saw "transcendentalist", warning alarms started ringing that it would be taken the wrong way by certain other users. Happy for it to be returned, but it needs a little bit more explanation behind it IMO. Cheers, Doctor Crazy in Room 102 of The Mental Asylum 02:00, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- User:Collect, the text is not about experts or this specific essay. "As this essay contains ideas and suggestions, it will contain some mutually contradictory opinions, as that is the nature of discussion of multiple issues seen differently by different editors. Collegiality requires that each editor accept that the material in this essay is going to be neither infallible nor self-consistent." I don't see a benefit to keep the text in the essay. It can be moved to the talk page. QuackGuru (talk) 20:07, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Without that disclaimer, it is far more likely that "Userfy" ("oubliette") is the result. Collect (talk) 21:16, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- The votes are mostly "Userfy" at this point. It won't change the votes. QuackGuru (talk) 21:27, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
