Crocodillin

I understand why you buried this, but I have dug it up again and put it in Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Crocodillin, because I think with the help offered by Dr Britton (see User talk:JohnCD#Crocodillin) there probably is an article to be made here, though it will not be called "Crocodillin". I have also protected the title, as a precaution. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

YOU DRagony Sixtyseven are SHAME!

I am sorry if i write on wrong place, but i must leave this message because it happens second time you deleted my page;it was so wonderful written,a lovely story, and i am angry and ask:WHo did give you right to cancel my page?i hate this and i am very disappointed.Do you know how much time i needed to improve my post to make it looks great, and i think i didn't save copy of my writing.,It is really SHAME! If you looked at my page as propaganda, isn't that all we do and put in here,as well as all the articles and pictures for public use, belong to the same category, which you call:propaganda. How do you imagine everyone to know and read what we say and write? Deleted Plot Builder?

I noticed you deleted my contribution of Plot Builder today with a comment that it was "overly promotional". I specifically designed this page to be historical and informational in nature, and not promotional. I even emulated a long standing article for Final Draft since it was a similar product. Please help me understand what I can edit in order to make this page within the standards you are reviewing for. Deleted NO.SURGERY.CANCER.SURVIVOR

Why did you ban me from writing an honest information about a book "A Cure for Cancer" and author Jollie Harris III of Los Angeles, CA? He is an awesome communicator and author who helps people including myself get rid of the most terrible diseases and pain and suffering, even extending life. Thousands of testimonials all over the internet. Please reconsider unblocking my account I have only written about honest things and facts that can be verified through testimonials found on youtube and other various places.

I'm sorry if what I said was rude, I was purely curious about the sheer number and the odd edit summaries. In retrospect, my comment regarding your talk page reads meaner than I meant it - I simply meant that if people looked at your talk page they could see that you had been asked questions on this topic a lot before and answered them. I'm assuming the not notable yets were speedy deletes. To clarify, I wasn't trying to suggest you were some sort of one man deletionist conspiracy :-)

Need Help Including Images

This is an awesome example caption. Pretty ponies are at the link :D

For the Showmen's Trade Review article I have six images, all in my possession, no copyright issues. Need direction to place them in the article. I refined the article today with several edits. After the images are placed, I think the article is complete. Can I sign it and give my email address? Thanks, Sunnyprime (talk) 01:31, 30 January 2011 (UTC)sunnyprime

To upload images, see WP:IMAGE. You should know that in order to put images on Wikipedia pages, you have to publish them under a free license. This basically means that you will allow anyone to use your images, or derivative works of the images, for any purpose, including commercial works, as long as they credit you as the author. You should be aware that if you do so, the license is not revokable.
As to how to put an image into the article once you have uploaded it, you can do that with this code as a template: [[File:Bad Title Example.png|thumb|right|200px|This is an awesome example caption. Pretty [[ponies]] are at that link :D]]. This code (placed at the start of this section) produces the image to the right. You can modify the placing of the image (left/right/center), the sizing (200px = 200 pixels wide), and the caption to whatever you want. WP:IMAGE has more examples of how to add pictures to articles.
Articles generally don't have any contact information placed on them, and I would not recommend signing it or putting your email address on it. This would likely be interpreted as an attempt at advertising, and could lead to the page being deleted. J.delanoygabsadds 01:55, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello ... I have a very demanding job, so have not worked on this project for nearly a month - my apologies. Thanks for your instructions on images, which I intend to follow today. I am the daughter of publisher Chick Lewis and the images are my personal property - not the property of the magazine, so there are no copyright issues. The images of Chick Lewis I have selected to place on Wikipedia with this article I am happy to release with a Creative Commons license. There is one image of Showmen's Trade Review Magazine cover that I would like to include with the article. It has a photo of actress-singer Judy Garland on the cover. Please advise what, if any, copyright issues you have with that. Meanwhile, I will withhold it. I would like this Showmen's Trade Review article to enter Wikipedia's main space within the next few days to coincide with this year's Academy Awards presentations. Re: cutting Chick Lewis biographical details, I am probably biased, but I would like them to remain intact. I did much research to unearth these facts and this particular magazine is so much a product of its founder and his early activities, that I believe these facts are truly germane to the overall article. In addition, these facts add depth to the early history of movie-making in the United States. If you still want some cuts made, please indicate what you find to be unsuitable as I cannot read your mind. BTW, I am a second generation publisher - of the Environment News Service, now entering its 21st year. With thanks for your help, Sunny LewisSunnyprime (talk) 17:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Sunnyprime, I think you have the right idea generally. Any photo that you took yourself (in your free time) is perfectly okay to upload, provided you agree to license it under a suitable free license. The magazine cover is unlikely to be permitted, unfortunately, unless your father was the sole copyright holder of that work before his death (in which case you would inherit rights). A low-resolution version might be permitted under the Wikipedia:Non-free content policy. Dcoetzee 18:34, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi... thanks for your advice. My father was indeed the sole copyright holder of the magazine cover before his death and I have inherited the rights. So I will upload it, I think it is a low-res version anyway. Just want to have an image of a magazine cover with the article. Now about the copy editing - is it still required before the article goes up? Sunnyprime (talk) 19:30, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

If you do own rights then by all means, please upload the best quality version you have - high resolution images are very useful to us. :-) Thanks for your contributions. Dcoetzee 19:52, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi... I have read all material re: images coding, sizing and uploading. I have correct coding and what I hope is correct sizing done. For sizing I have sized the images in the click-thru sizes and as I understand it, the system will produce the thumbnail images automatically. Is that right? Or should I upload two images - one thum and the other full size? In the uploading process I find I am asked to categorize the images. Here I have run into trouble. For instance, one is an image of STR editor and publisher Chick Lewis with Gary Cooper. Should that be categorized in People by Name? Should I put it in two categories? Lewis? and Cooper? Should it be in any other categories too? Thanks for your help in resolving these issues. Won't be able to do any more today, but can get back to it tomorrow evening.Sunnyprime (talk) 00:44, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Don't worry too much about categories. You should upload only one image, of reduced resolution, because this is a fair use image. Please leave further questions at my talk page. Sorry for the slow response. Dcoetzee 03:42, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

icebxx deletion

why is that not a valid user name

i drive scion xb and it looks like an ice box but icebxx is always available as a user name LOL

i'm trying to get involve as a contributor, i have an attorney writing different things who is an expert and i'm not sure how to get it to not be deleted — Preceding unsigned comment added by ICEBXX (talkcontribs) 20:47, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey there. It doesn't look like the username is a problem, but more the article you tried to create about structured settlement attorneys. The first problem is that we require all information to be verifiable and sourced to reliable sources; this doesn't appear to be the case here - indeed, the attempted article has no references at all. The second problem is the inclusion of the information about Nizinski and Ahtirski. The way you have phrased it (and the way you've picked them out particularly) makes it look as if this article is an attempted advertisement, which is strictly prohibited. Both of those issues need to be fixed before it's an appropriate post here, and I'm perfectly happy to assist in any way I can.
A greater issue is that you say you have "an attorney writing different things". Bear in mind that content on Wikipedia has to be released under a free content license; if you are not the one writing it, you do not necessarily have the legal authority to release it. If you want to drop a note at the bottom of my talkpage (remember to sign it with four tildes, like so ~~~~ I'm happy (as a law student, and as an editor) to help out. Yours, Ironholds (talk) 21:09, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

The Florin Street Band

Hi there, I'm just wondering why you deleted this article which I spent ages writing? The only explanation was (apparent copyvio) But there were no copyright violations because I was closely involved with the project and sought permission? What will happen now is that members of the public will write random, misinformed articles about The Florin Street Band - how can that be good for Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dreamingprincess (talkcontribs) 22:48, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Dreamingprincess! Talk page stalker here... Basically, even if you sought out permission for the material, if you didn't write it independently then it's still going to be a copyright violation. Wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia, so in order for content to be allowed here, it must first be released into the public domain- you merely saying you recieved permission is not sufficient to release the material. Our legal team would need to get written notice from the copyright holder that the material was getting released into the public domain.
To be honest, as an admin looking at your article, even if it wasn't a copyright violation it would still have been deleted as a promotional article. Take a look at other articles on Wikipedia and then look at yours- surely you can see that the tone used in this article was inappropriate for an encyclopedia article? Think about whether an article like this would be put in a print encyclopedia like Encyclopedia Brittanica... it wouldn't- it reads like an advertisement. Keep in mind that it's not our job to make anyone look good or protect subjects from "random, misinformed articles", nor is it your job as someone clearly affliated with the band to create an article about it.
I urge you to read our guidelines for inclusion, specifically our notability guidelines for musicians, and also take a look at our instructions on how to make citations and find reliable secondary sources. This by no means indicates that there can never be an article about The Florin Street Band, it only means that you probably shouldn't be the one to write it. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to ask me or DragonflySixtySeven by replying here. l'aquatique[talk] 02:05, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Deleted Clash: Rise of Heroes

Hello,

One of our users created a Wiki on our game and for some reason it was deleted. We have over 200,000 users playing our game and if you google our game, you'll find over 28,000 websites with articles about us. Can you tell me why our entry was deleted. You state the reason was "notability not asserted", but being new to Wikipedia I'm not completely sure what that means.

Thanks for the clarification! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Talonxz (talkcontribs) 07:05, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Over the next year or so, I hope to improve the articles about Lyda Borelli and Francesca Bertini. Then, I shall move onto some less well-known actors, directors, films and film companies, which should be useful for the students that I will be teaching next year. Move of SHEBA

Hi Dragonfly. Thank you for your interest in Surface Heat Budget of the Arctic Ocean (SHEBA). I'm surprised that you moved it without discussion to Surface heat budget of the Arctic ocean. Note that, in doing so, you failed to capitalize "Ocean." Actually, since the article is about the project titled, Surface Heat Budget of the Arctic Ocean, not the concept, surface heat budget of the Arctic Ocean, all the words should be capitalized. I'm not ncecessarily against the move, but I would like to see it discussed, first, especially since the project was more widely known as "SHEBA." About 4LW entry

Hi there,

Noticed that entry was deleted with the comments of:

18:36, 29 January 2011 DragonflySixtyseven (talk | contribs) deleted "4LW" ‎ (I'm really sorry. This is genuinely interesting, but there's absolutely nothing about notabilty or reliable sources. I mean, a community discussion on Reddit?! No.)

I'm the inventor of the "protocol" and detailed it in a blog post and it was evolved over a period of several hours on that reddit discussion after that. Surely the blog and the discussion count as reliable sources?

In terms of notablity would the various news articles referencing 4LW count?

Also I'm new to wikipedia so is the contents of the entry gone forever ?

Café Dulcet Deletion

Hi - I understand that the article for the novel Café Dulcet by Chiquis Barrón has been deleted because notability was not asserted. Although this is a relatively new novel, it has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources including the US Review of Books (http://www.theusreview.com/reviews/Cafe-Barron.html), the Tucson Festival of Books (http://www.tucsonfestivalofbooks.com/author/list), and the Latina Book Club (http://www.latinabookclub.com/2011/02/q-with-authorchiquis-barron.html) in addition to other non-internet media outlets.

If this is not enough to assert notability, I would greatly appreciate knowing how I can retrieve the information that was on the article for future use and reference.

Greatly appreciate your help.

Please note that you were completely wrong. Can you you read what the Talmud states? I've provided the link of the full text of the original source. It really doesn't mention the term "cell" - but rather the term: "sperm/semen" only, however, the Talmud does discuss poly-spermy (poly + spermy, i.e. "multy-sperm"), and it even states clearly that a woman can get pregnant by sperm/semen of two men - at once - on some rare biological conditions (indicated ibid.), and it also states that those conditions enabled Goliath to have one hundred fathers! Anyway, note that the section about the Talmud was under the title "mythology", so I really don't know what's wrong with that. Next time, consult before you remove. I've fixed the patrol links script. The fix necessitated a change in how the script actually works. Clicking the link will no longer open a new page; it now patrols the page in the background using AJAX. It un-highlights the page in the list when it finishes patrolling it. Right-clicking or center-clicking the links (probably) won't work. You'll need to bypass your cache to use the new version. Let me know if you have any issues. Mr.Z-man 05:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Hello, I was just wondering why the CQRS-page was deleted? In my opinion it is a complementary resource to http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Command-query_separation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tok jocke (talkcontribs) 09:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Literary awards

Please look more carefully at what was changed before doing a wholesale revert. Also I'm working on adding a new article for the one red link which is why I kept it there. Green Cardamom (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

I appreciate your concern, but that article is riddled with awards that are external links only (ie. no blue links). If you were serious about it, why so much energy watching the article for edits and posting in name space, but no effort to actually fix the article? If you do, don't just delete the awards, many of them many actually have blue links. Green Cardamom (talk) 17:18, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Please Restore Nukoko

Hi, I'm just writing to clarify the Nukoko page that was deleted and hopefully have it restored.

"23:27, 5 March 2011 DragonflySixtyseven (talk | contribs) deleted "User:Nukoko/Nukoko" ‎ (regrettably, this is not an appropriate use of a userpage. Wikipedia is not a free webhost for your organization.)"

As a representative of Nukoko, I would like to make it clear that we are not using Wikipedia as a webhost for our organization. We created the page as an informational page. We are a non-profit organization like http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Engineers_Without_Borders_%28Canada%29 and http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Free_the_children that works towards empowering children through education.

Please consider restoring the page, we would greatly appreciate it.

Sandbox page for Pediatric Home Service

On March 15 you deleted the sandbox page I had set up for Pediatric Home Service with the explanation "(regrettably inappropriate use of userpage)." In fact, Wikipedia encourages users to experiment on their user pages, which is what I did. See the post on Your first article, "If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox or your user page." Can you please restore, or at least provide further clarification? Jlh0910 (talk) 17:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi Jlh0910. Your article was deleted by DragonflySixtyseven because it can be considered inappropriate and would violate what Wikipedia is not. While your contributions are always appreciated, the draft was stale. At the time DS deleted it, you had not contributed to it since February 13, 2011, and therefore could be considered a stale draft. The deleted sandbox also was a little bit "spammy" and contained few, if none, secondary sources. All these things make it justifiable for Dragonfly to delete it. GFOLEY FOUR00:15, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your response! Is there any way I could get a copy of the deleted article, preferably with some feedback on it? I'm interested in seeing if I can make it less spammy and more Wikipedia-appropriate. I'd like to revise, rather than have it abruptly deleted. Jlh0910 (talk) 01:02, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Swithland Wood talk page

Hi - I have been working on an expansion of the Swithland Wood article, which I have had on User:RobinLeicester/sandbox/swithlandwood to get it sorted out. I was going to float it on the talk page for Swithland Wood but there is a note to say you deleted the talk page, and should be contacted before recreating it. Still feeling pretty new to this, I am trying to work out good practice for major edits, and what response they might get. If you can give me any guidance on a) the talk page for swithland wood, b) my sandbox version and c) whether sandbox and dialogue is considered better than lots of incremental edits on the page itself that would be much appreciated. regards RobinLeicester (talk) 01:24, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Because it's not in perfect focus? "Unflattering"? Do you have any idea how many images are in articles that could be considered "unflattering"? It's a candid image, not a posed headshot. This is WP:IDONTLIKEIT plain and simple. Doc talk 22:25, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Please help with deleted article

Hi DragonflySixtyseven- I just wanted to see if you could help me with a page that you deleted of mine. User:Mfoltz29/Terrie O'Connor Realtors Anyway it is about Terrie O'Connor Realtors because they seem to be coming up more and more in my area and I came to Wikipedia to see more about the company and there were not any articles yet. The president of the company was recently at my college and I have been seeing signs more and more around Bergen County. I did a lot of research on the company and feel I did use third party references and even included a website ending in .edu

Please let me know what I can do to get this up and running :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mfoltz29 (talkcontribs) 13:37, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Chandra Courtney

If you look over my edits you will see that I have been working on a number artist pages from the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. If in any case that I have transgressed procedures or protocol I apologize profusely. I can only say that I am new at this.

In the case of the Chandra Courtney article I think that you should know that when the first TV broadcast was made in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, her song was the first song to be broadcast. When India was still boycotting South Africa, she was part of the first cultural exchange between the two countries. But even more recently she was a co producer of a world music program on the local Pacifica station. There many other things that I could have added. Unfortunately, I will not be able to because the article was deleted after only a few hours.

I realize that yours is a thankless job and judging from the emotion tone of many of the previous discussions, I am sure that it is the source of numerous headaches. I am only asking for the opportunity to state the case why I think that this article deserves to be included.

Darryl Bailey Article

Hello, I noticed the page I created on "Darryl Bailey" was deleted because notability was not asserted. Would you please explain that to me, and tell me what I need to do to have my page reinserted? Thanks, Rondeauw (talk)Rondeauw —Preceding undated comment added 21:29, 5 April 2011 (UTC).

Dragonfly is known to use "notability not asserted" as a way of referring to the speedy deletion criterion WP:A7. Basically, this criteria applies if there is no claim of importance or significance in the article- and merely having written three books is not such a claim- anyone can pay to publish a book through any of a large number of vanity publishers. What we need are reliable sources discussing this individual, and this article as it stood contained zero. If such sources exist, please provide them, I'm sure DS67 will be happy to re-evaluate the deletion if presented with multiple, intellectually independent, reliable sources. You may also find reviewing WP:BIO helpful, as it explains the requirements for the notability of biographies. Courcelles 23:44, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Page protection

It doesn't appear that page protection is necessary, either at List of Indian inventions and discoveries or List of South Asian inventions and discoveries. There was some edit-warring a while back, but that died down at least two weeks ago. There is quite a bit of debate going on, but event that is dying down. I honestly don't know why you feel page protection is necessary. Best, Athenean (talk) 22:45, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm confused. Why has the page been protected? There was edit-warring one week ago! Why the lock down now? Please unlock the page ASAP. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 04:06, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
And a lockdown until 19th April. That seems unmitigatedly ludicrous. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 04:12, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

I concur, I have used the schools website[2] as the source for the reversions, which appear to be made by one user and quite possibly a newly minted sockpuppet of the same. Not once have they provided any substantiating evidence for these names, and in one edit[3] claim that the names on the website are made up. If you have a chance, take a look yourself and see what you think. Thanks! SeaphotoTalk 00:47, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Queer Spokane

Hello, The page I created titled "Queer Spokane" was deleted by you, and I was just wondering why, and more importantly, what I need to change to have it not deleted. "(regrettably, this is not an appropriate use of a userpage. Wikipedia is not a free webhost for your organization.)" is the reason given for why it was deleted, but I am not a part of any organization. I spent an entire quarter doing independent study on the queer community of Spokane, Washington, which is a very marginalized city with a very marginalized queer community. I worked on this page with the hopes of listing all of the community resources and social groups available for the queer (which is an umbrella term for all non-heterosexual sexualities) community of Spokane in order to empower individuals and strengthen the community. There are many other cities that have their own pages for their LGBT/LGBTQ/Queer/Gay community, and/or the history thereof, so I am confused why one for Spokane is not allowed. I think this is a very important page to have on Wikipedia, so please let me know what I can do to get it back up and running. Thank you. Bryceh7 (talk) 02:18, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Two things: first, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising; it is easy to think that, since Wikipedia has a high visibility rating on search engines, that people tend to post stuff they're promoting onto Wikipedia for a few extra hits, but that is not how we work. Secondly, Wikipedia is not your own web host for hosting for own material; that is what a regular website is for. I'm sorry, but that is how we operate. If you don't already have a website for your run, then I recommend you build one, just like I had to a couple of weeks ago with some research that I was doing with my job. wikipedia

You may just ignore this but can you tell me why some wikipedia people are aholes, constantly asking for sourcing on the most basic of things, you seem to think that no matter how obvious no matter how announced, if it is not on the web and a "reliable source" which is a subjective term at best, you cannot write it, take the info that mw3 will be released in november, this is not guessing it is a prediction -not speculation - based on almost every cod title released, why is it that administrators cannot see how blatantly obtuse they are being, it is a vry very stupid way to think. You may saythis is an encyclopedia but you can change this at a moments notice if the information turns out to be off. I am not saying any information can be put on but i mean tat with very large amounts of reliability on the prediction. e.g five years of repeated pattern of release. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.19.56.111 (talk) 21:52, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

I have no idea what you're talking about. I mean, yes, you're talking about some software release, but I have no idea which one, and I don't know why you're coming to me about this. DS (talk) 21:58, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Showmen's Trade Review & Chick Lewis

I am back to try and finalize this article. Several problems: I am willing to do two articles - one about the magazine and one about Chick Lewis, as you suggest. There will inevitably be some overlap and I would like to get the one about the magazine up now. Can't we just do that as written? Then, when I do the one based on Chick Lewis, I would lift some of the biographical details and place them in the other article. I stopped working on this because your comments have been intimidating and I cannot guess what you want. You seem to delete peoples' articles all the time, based on comments on this talk page. I want to avoid that but I have no idea how to do so. Also, the photos are another stumbling block. Some of the most interesting photos are images of Lewis with actors and actresses. Are you not going to allow these on Wikipedia? You will recall that these were published in STR. They are of Judy Garland, Hopalong Cassidy, Gary Cooper, Shirley Temple. Please clarify. Deletion of GTS Translation Plugin page

Dear DragonflySixtyseven,

I see that you deleted the page I entered regarding the GTS Translation plugin because it was overly promotional. I would like to resubmit this page in a way that it meets approval. The plugin is the result of years of work and represents a technological achievement in translation of dynamic websites and blogs that are authored using the Wordpress open-source CMS. Can you be more specific in how you felt the page was overly promotional? What kind of information should be stripped and what should be added? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello DragonflySixtyseven:

I confess that I am somewhat of a novice when it come to Wikipedia, so hopefully this is the correct place to address my query. I check my watch list page infrequently, and I just noticed something (two somethings actually) posted by you. They seem to refer to a poem and a slander campaign. I don't know anything about said poem or slanderous statements directed to or about you. Hopefully, I haven't inadvertently contributed to same.

My last previous postings were to a discussion about whether or not to delete an article about Tera Myers, and a photo of her that I got from Wikinews. Apparently the photo meets WikiNews' fair use policy, but not Wikipedia's rather more stringent criteria. I didn't kick and fuss when the photo was deleted. I accepted the rationale provided, and then I tried to obtain another photo by asking Ms. Myers for one directly. She declined, therefore I let it rest.

So, I was wondering why did your rather cryptic messages ended up on my watch list? I assure you that if I disagreed with you over something, I would cross (verbal) swords with you, and I would not do anything underhanded or sneaky. That would be both cowardly and unethical; I just don't believe in that kind of behavior. Seercat 09:08, 27 May 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seercat (talkcontribs)

Article on Machines

DragonflySistyseven, I am trying to revise the article on Machines so that it is useful to novices, but an editor with a computer science preference objects to any reference to mechanical devices. I have revised the introduction many times and introduced new sections to address this editors concerns, but all I get is a warning that I am edit warring and a revert back to the incorrect material. You can see the discussions in which I have attempted to address his concerns, but he simply reverts back to the original and accuses me of having a narrow focus. Hello DragonflySixtyseven; All images are uploaded for the Showmen's Trade Review magazine article and all are given the license statement you suggested. Hope you agree, if so, what do I have to do to make that happen - or do you get it up live? Thanks, Sunny Sunnyprime (talk) 23:14, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

About Machines

Thank you for the recommendation to GuerillaWarfare. However, his recommendation restates wiki policy that edits are to stop until the two editors come to an agreement. The problem is that I have tried to find common ground but get nothing in return simply reverts and now accusations. You can see it on the discussion page. Please look at it. It may be that Derek farn is a respected editor, but on the topic of machines he has a bias that is limiting the opportunity to assemble a high quality article. 1635: The Tangled Web

I still dont see how this meet WP:NBOOKS and your removal of the notability tag with the comment "pay attention" was a bit unkind dont you think? The only argument for inclusion at this point is that it is part of a book series which isn't supported by WP:NBOOKS especially since notability isn't inherited. Hi. Please unprotect Jack Kevorkian as soon as possible. Semi-protection is appropriate in cases where there has been a pattern of vandalism or disruption. While you're absolutely correct that the article is likely to get more traffic and views at this time, that's a reason to keep it unprotected (to demonstrate the wiki model). This is somewhat similar to what is done with "Today's featured article." --MZMcBride (talk) 14:49, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi. You deleted my article. I understand why. It isn't a press release but I do write press releases among other things so it did kind of sound that way. I added more information about Nicole B. Hi also a victim of a deleted article. If I could get more specific advice it would be appreciated. "Notability not asserted" was the reason you wrote. How can I be absolved of my previous bad behavior and get back in Wiki's good graces?

I have been guilty of sock puppetry and intemperate editing in prior years. I admit it, and wish to start over and avoid in the future the mistakes I have made in the past.

My initial login years ago was "Jeff dean." You deleted that user, which is why I am contacting you hoping you can help me now. I have used other logins inappropriately (which I later learned is called sockpuppetry -- a word I did not know) when I ran into trouble.

I have been going through Wiki to find out if there is a way to start over with a clean slate and be forgiven for past sins. I have not been able to find instructions to find the path to forgiveness and recovery.

I do not wish too use my real name as a login because of past associations. Under that name and others I have posted hundreds of excellent photographs in Wiki en and Germany.

Can you advise me? Whoami 24 (talk) 16:51, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I wrote in my message that I have an idea about a "kind of Command responsibility of administrators of wikipedia" which is much different from command responsibility of a government or a military. I wanted to elaborate more when I see if you are interested in discussion about it. If your detailed answer is indication that you might be interested in discussion about my idea please take a look at draft of my essay here. My idea is maybe bad, I am not sure, but that is exactly a reason why would I like to hear someone's else opinion. Maybe someone can help to improve it to be better. I wrote above metnioned essay only as short description of my idea and would appreciate your comment about it.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 10:20, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
This is not proposal but only an idea which is based on a Medina standard, i.e. on the concept that people could be held responsible for both their actions and not taking an actions when faced with serious issues. This concept is not totally strange to wikipedia. Users of wikipedia are already held responsible for actions they did not take, i.e. if they ignore questions of other users and not answering it, ignore consensus, opinion of other users... Users are also volunteers, not soldiers, but I think that it is not what is important here.
Please do not focus on the some details of this idea, but on the basic concept, that administrators could be, like other users and people in the world, held responsible for not acting, based on Medina standard (or on Diffusion of responsibility, Good Samaritan Law or Duty to rescue - there are plenty of basic concepts which deal with this problem). In some legal systems it is illegal not to help somebody in dire need. I think that I may say that many articles are bleeding on the sidewalk because they are victims of serious violations of the wikipedia policies, and nobody is helping. Neither simple passengers, nor physicians passing by. That is exactly why in many states it is againts the law for first responders, EMTs, nurses, and doctors to not treat someone in need. It doesnt matter if they are off duty. These health professionals recieve their license from the state and as a condition the state requires that they help those in need regardless of duty status. Failure can result in criminal charges, lawsuits, or loss of license. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 12:53, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Please help with "dabong! (card game)" deletion

Hello. I saw you recently deleted the page for "dabong! (card game)" I am new to submitting to wikipedia and it took me a significant amount of time to get the page to where it was. I believe you indicated it was deleted due to lack of sources (if I understood correctly)? Is it gone permanently and I have to start from scratch, or may I provide you some sources so you could bring it back? Here are several reviews from fans of the game that were not previously listed: http://www.lifetimemoms.com/me-time/partners/blog/dabong-fun-family-card-game http://thenoiseontoys.com/toys/14636/dabong/journal I can find another half dozen sites that mention the game and give it a brief review if needed. I'm not sure I understand why the article was deleted - this is a real game that is available in retail stores and online for purchase, with people who have played and reviewed it. It should be no different than any other game that is described on wikipedia, right? Deletion of Dibble Dabble

Hi. Why did you delete the Dibble Dabble article? Your comment says "made-up garbage, article full of statements which are either lies, wholly unverifiable, or BLP violations about celebrities" but my recollection is that it was a normal article about a very commonly played childrens game, like hop scotch or hide and seek. Was there an AfD? or an PROD? See also game Marco Polo (game), and category Category:Swimming pool games. Did you think the game did not meet the WP:Notability requirement? Then perhaps an AfD would have been better. --Noleander (talk) 15:07, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

It's a fairly clear hoax that contains BLP violations. Speedy deletion was the right way to go. Ironholds (talk) 15:49, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
There is a water game that involves jumping for sticks thrown into water, as described in the article. When I was a kid, we called it "tee". The name "dibble dabble" is also used for the game, and there is a reference as far back as 1993 in this book: [6] , Growing Up Latino, by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 1993, p 92. Im not saying it necessarily meets WP notability guidelines, but it is a fact that such a game exists, and the phrase "dibble dabble" is one of the names of the game. Could someone make a copy of the deleted article available so other editors can look at it: maybe some parts of the article were a hoax, or erroneous, but the existence of the game is valid. --Noleander (talk) 22:34, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see there is an AfD now ... I've put my comments there. Thanks. --Noleander (talk) 23:04, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Re: Brian P. Easton and his works

I have been asked by my client to inform you that your research is wrong. Brian P. Easton is a published author. His works are found at:

http://www.permutedpress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=76 and http://www.permutedpress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89

These two articles inform you that my client is no longer self-published and is working with an established publisher.

Alikatia (talkcontribs) 21:53, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

  • FWIW, this publisher is not, as I first thought when seeing this , a vanity publisher. Indeed, it has a cooperative publishing arrangement with Simon & Schuster! [7]. Anyone where the article asserts authorship of a book other than a self published book is clearly not a speedy candidate. And I see from the deleted versions of the article, that the claim is made that he has won an award. The deletion is obviously a simple error, and if the deleting admin does not restore it, I shall do so, adding a reference. As for his books, I do not think the intent of the editor here was to delete them, and I shall restore the fullest versions, and make them into redirects to the author article, merging all usable content. Renaming photo files

Please don't change unique identifiers to descriptive titles. These appear in the photo captions anyway and descriptive titles are not unique so a great deal of problems could be created if you change these file names. --Rskp (talk) 04:01, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Despite the above plea 8 days ago the file has been renamed. This not only separates the photograph from the originating file but it cuts its connection to the institution which holds the original and to that institution's catalogue number of the photo. I notice [delta] is taking part in this process of degrading the information in these articles which have had their file names changed. --Rskp (talk) 07:19, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

More problems from [delta]

Now this editor is changing file names and having the original files deleted so the original catalogue number and institution the photo came from is lost. This editor whom I think is an administrator, obviously wants to degrade my work - it needs protection from this person. As I can't undo the change of file names because it is admin - can you please arrange to fix these issues? --Rskp (talk) 02:13, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Sorry I forgot to sign the above.
In reply to your post on my talk page 'In the future I will definitely make sure that when I upload photos etc the file name includes a description of some sort. Really until [delta] started changing these file names I did not think that this could be a problem nor did I think an administrator would be so unhelpful as [delta] has proved to be. --Rskp (talk) 02:13, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Please dont make assumptions about other editors without more information. Some other editor came across your uploads, determined that the file names that you gave them where not descriptive enough, and then renamed the files. (without telling you). Me, in a regular sweep cleaned up the remaining links to the old names in order to make things a easier and avoid issues with file links, adjusted the links in articles. And you are blaming me? ΔT The only constant 03:02, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
[delta] was the only editor associated with the new file names. The old file names were not deleted by you, but as a consequence of your action. Descriptive file names are not mandatory. --Rskp (talk) 03:51, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Ban vs. block

With regards to this edit: "Banned impersonator" is actually incorrect. The user in question did receive an indefinite block with revocation of email and user talk privileges, but this does not constitute a ban. A ban is a sanction imposed by the community, while a block is applied by an admin or other higher up (such as yourself). The two are different things and should not be confused with one another. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 19:19, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Out of process speedy deltions are a misuse of administrator tools

I note that you speedily deleted Poo-Poo Puddle with the summary "made up". This was a completely incorrect used of your admin powers.

Firstly "made up" is not a speedy deletion criterion - please re-read the list of criteria at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. The consensus of the community is explicitly that only pages that meet the conditions listed on that page, narrowly interpreted, are exempt from the normal deletion processes of prod and AfD. Speedy deletion is the exception, not the norm.

In the case of the specific article, yes it was poorly written and the title is not appropriate, but the topic was not "made up", rather it concerned the effects of a leaking sewage system, a problem that has existed since the invention of sewage systems millennia ago. If we already have an article on this topic, then this article would have met the criteria of WP:CSD#A10, however despite searching I have not been able to find one (so it's no surprise this contributor couldn't find one). It would probably have been deleted at prod or AfD had you followed the correct process, but it is also possible that it would have been turned into an actual article if we don't have one. Speedy deletion was thus incorrect for this reason also.

Please remember that CSD is interpreted narrowly for a reason - those listed criteria are the only cases where consensus exists to bypass the normal, consensus-based deletion process, and it is very bitey towards new contributors. Thryduulf (talk) 11:08, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Considering your eagerness to cite policy while ignoring others, feel free to request undeletion in accordance with the deletion policy—especially if you're going to contribute your expertise in the area to make the article acceptable. I'd suggest googling for the secondary sources on the topic to help turn it around, as this will assist you in your quest to bring the article up to par. You'll need to remove all of the original research, however. --slakrtalk / 12:02, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Did not say that I wanted it undeleted. The result was almost certainly correct, but the process was wrong. This does not mean that we should neither point out that the process was wrong (for future reference) nor go through the right process just for the sake of it.
Regarding IAR, yes I'm aware that it exists. I'm also aware that it should never be used for speedy deletions - this discussion has been had many times at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion, and on every occasion there is consensus that IAR is not an appropriate reason to speedy delete something.
If you are finding things that you think should be speedily deleted but are not covered by an existing criterion then the correct course of action is to gain consensus for a new criterion (or an expansion of an existing one). This requires there be evidence of need, which cannot be obtained if these articles are neither prodded nor sent to AfD. Thryduulf (talk) 12:35, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
PS, we are having a discussion about such a new criterion at this moment - see Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion. Rather than ignoring the policy because you think it broken, why don't you join in with the discussion to make it not broken? Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Following up on a CSD above

Two questions about your deletion of The Creator's Testimony: An Introduction to Applied Philosophy (the user posted an admin help question that I'd I need clarification on before answering). First, under what CSD criteria did you delete it under? Your deletion summary says, "notability not asserted"; of course, as you know, an article need not establish or assert notability, only significance or importance (a lower bar). Additionally, there is no CSD criteria that covers books--A7 (the closest to your rationale) covers only "individuals, animals, organizations, web content". My understanding is that books (and other creative works other than musical recordings) always must go through Prod or AfD. Second, did you speedily delete that page, on your own, without a second admin looking at it? This may be allowed, but I thought that the standard rule is that at least 2 eyes have to hit every article. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:17, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Andrewsglaser (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:01, 3 August 2011 (UTC).

(talk page stalker) Hey Andrewglaser. I have undeleted your article and restored it to it's original location. I will be keeping an eye on it.
For now, here are somethings that would improve the article and not make it deletable under Advertising or unambiguous promotion:
  • Reliable sources - I see that you have started to source your statements, and that is a great start. Though you do need to find some 3rd party reliable sources who confirm the facts that you have put in the article. Newspapers, third party reviews, etc. are all good examples. Also, you don't have to get to this part right away, but we can help you with inline citation instructions which make things look a little better.
  • Tell both sides of the story - It is Wikipedia's policy to be neutral in its content, by showing both sides of the picture. Any criticism of your product or company helps satisfy this criterion. It might not be what you want to post, but it needs to be neutral content. That link should help better explain what needs to happen.
  • The layout of the article - That link again is your best resource, but you cant be talking about your product all the way though and just leave it at that. You need to make sure the way your presenting it does not introduce bais.
  • Use of promotional words - linked is a list of words that I would avoid using as they may introduce bias into your article.
  • Keep opinions out - That's plain and simple, and makes it easy for all of us.
  • For expansion/good things - The background is a great way to help NPOV to be dealt with. Your awards and certifications in a referenced paragraph format giving some background about it would make things even better.
Now I can't say that's everything because i'm a bit tired, but feel free to stop by my talkpage by clicking the "(t)" in my signature and I will be glad to review it again and help you out with what you need. -- DQ (t) (e) 02:10, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Being an SPI clerk I looked into this, there are several pieces missing to connect the two I think. For one, the userpage doesn't just say hi anymore like it did with all the other socks, and just the fact that a language is not a persons strong suit, doesn't make them that more probable for socking. This is just my two cents though. -- DQ (t) (e) 13:57, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Well, the Bachusbreak (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is the missing link (who definitely is the same as Alvarri). The userpage and talk page are again minimal, and ethnic background certainly is. No such user (talk) 14:02, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Following up on our conversation from the en-help IRC chat

Hello -- I believe that you were the one who chatted with me on the Help IRC channel a few days ago. I mentioned that I was looking for some independent input on the suggested revision to Pete Snyder, which I initially proposed on the article's talk page, and reflected in longer form at User:Jeff_Bedford/Sandbox6. I've done this with WP:COI guideline in mind. If I remember correctly, you made an initial minor change to the sandbox version, but you had an appointment to attend to, I had jumped up to make some tea, and I don't think we quite finished our conversation.

Don't want to be a bother--just thought I'd say hello and see if you had a moment to revisit this. Thank you for your kind words

Thank you so much for your message. It's a long time since I have been treated this way, and my feelings ARE very hurt. Plus, I don't have time for an endless defense of something that shouldn't need to be defended: all they need to do is not use the word "reprint" and credit both simultaneous July appearances, but this Wolfowitz has some agenda of stripping the notability from the books and the series. The books clearly show no prior publication permissions on their copyright pages, therefore, there was no prior publication, and no one is arguing that the series is not a shared universe/world and under those terms and conditions Silverberg and Benford wrote not just once, but more than once. And now they're trying to bring in issues that occurred in my company into this (at the time those issued occurred, we employed, counting subcontractors and consultants, close to 100 people, so I only vaguely remember what happened. I didn't then and don't now control people's non-business activities. I'm happy you found Lawyers: it was great fun. I wish the bad behavior would stop. I only took a WP account because some of these editors were accusing everyone else of being me. Your note was very timely and made me feel less abused. Thanks again. DS:: I am trying to follow your instructions and "strike" part of my comment above and not doing it correctly. And I truly appreciate your attempt to bring about a professional and useful atmosphere, if not conclusion, to the Heroes in Hell(TM)-related discussions. I also left a comment for you on my talk page, not knowing if you will get it. I don't understand how these pages work. So I edited out the words that I wished to strike, hoping that if "strike" is better, you would do me the favor of reverting the edit and executing the "strike out." I failed to execute this desired strike when I tried putting the comment to be struck between the < /s> and the </nowiki> and that didn't work. Then I tried putting the whole string within the < > in front and behind the words to be struck -- from "but this" through "and the series." That didn't work either. Then I edited out the string of words I want to delete or strike, since they will still appear on the edit history, I believe. This way, if you wish to reinstate them and show me how to do the "strike," then there will be no mistake which words are meant. Now I am curious...please be patient with me. I want to learn this. JEM Guarddog2 (talk) 01:57, 20 August 2011 (UTC).

DS, remember, I am very new to this. I went back and copied your instructions again, but now I do not have the exact words I edited out -- of course you do, on the edit history. However, I can try from memory with this new code approach: but this [...] and the series to see if this will work. Please either show me what I did wrong or accept the edit I did, or revert at my request to the original text and then do the strike of all words from "but this" through "and the series" Thanking you in advance for your patience, JEMGuarddog2 (talk) 02:20, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
DS: And now that I don't have the precise citation, of course, it worked. Thank you, you taught me something new. I hesitate to try undoing the edit I did, since it is your page, not mine, but you surely can do it with a couple keystrokes. This whole exercise is nerve-wracking, but at least I finally figured out the strike-out method and removed the offending words in two ways, so there can be no doubt of my intention. Again, thank you. Guarddog2 (talk) 02:20, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Reinstated and struck out, since that's usually how we manage things we regret saying here. You have indeed figured it out, put leftanglebracket-ess-rightanglebracket at the start, put leftanglebracket-frontslash-ess-rightanglebracket at the end of what you want to strike through. It's only hard the first time. ;) Also, it's usually a good idea to only use one colon to indent your posts (so they show up one "tab space" farther in), and myself, when I'm posting below myself where no-one else has responded, I keep the same indent level as in my previous post. So I've skipped over your extra indenting and used only one "tab" to respond to your first post. Thanks for making the effort to learn our standard markup language! Franamax (talk) 08:51, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

DS, thanks but trying to help just made things worse.

DS, I appreciate your attempts to help but Mr. Wolfowitz never responded. Some participants found citations that clarified the confusion as to which edition appeared when and which was primary. This just made things even worse. Hostilities got more heated. Now one person has been blocked and they are deciding whether they can block me, based on a peripheral matter involving my husband years ago. When events take this turn, experience tells me that there is no hope of an equitable resolution: getting rid of people who disagree with you is a time-honored way of winning. However, you were my one bright moment in my short time on Wikipedia and I want to thank you, while I still can, for trying to create a rapprochement. I, too, thought it could work. So now we both know better. If we are ever in the same place, come up and introduce yourself. As we say in the Sacred Band, Life to you and everlasting glory. You have changed my userpage

Please tell me exactly what you have changed and why you did it RDN1F (talk) 21:28, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

First of all, I am not a younger editor and do not appreciate this assumption. Second of all, you have still not answered my question. I would like to know EXACTLY what you did because you have deleted so many previous edits it is impossible for me to compare the revisions. Deleted Page

Can you please advice as to why you deleted my page as spam? (17:26, 5 August 2011 DragonflySixtyseven (talk | contribs) deleted "AiMatch" ‎ (spam)) Why would it be classified as spam and why just delete versus trying to assist if something was incomplete or invalid? Dragonfly asked me to look at the article on his behalf; from looking at it, you had a good idea of what to do in a Wikipedia article, but the article is very promotional in tone and trying to earn more clients than being informational. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:16, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi, DF67. I would like to contest your deletion of User:Amyabaker/Noddle. I had previously reviewed the sources and the article appeared to meet our basic criteria. Even if it was a bit promotional, I certainly disagree that it rose to the level of G11 speedy deletion. Powers T 17:24, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Larkin

Ref: "If Larkin deliberately seeds his work with misinformation as copyright traps, then I strongly recommend you avoid using it as a source - cf. Jay Robert Nash and the mess that created. DS (talk) 14:06, 26 August 2011 (UTC)"

Hi: Apologies for not knowing what the ref on Jay Robert Nash is about, but thanks for the concern. As it happens, after nearly 40 years in the music industry and having written innumerable articles and obituaries, a number of ghost books and all sorts of other stuff, resources amounting to some 30,000 magazines and books and clippings and bits and bobs, and an anally retentive; I'm happy to take on such a thing with the knowledge that I'm not going to get caught out in a hurry (not that I blame Larkin - it must be frustrating to achieve something as momentuous as the encyc. and have it ripped off wholesale). Want a list of most of the mouse-traps? Some are funny, most are erudite.

I add what I know is right and appears relevant, I check what I'm not sure about, and I double check, omit and leave until later what's not verifiable - or if it was in there before, is encyclopaedic and verifiable but not until some other reference is added, then I'll leave it in with a 'cite needed tag' until later, and add it to an ever-growing spreadsheet for later (hence why Lillian Roxon's book got largely ignored when I worked through it - great fun, a perfect snapshot of the era, but personal and erratic (in a lovely way) instead of encyclopaedic.

Far too many music entries are random, fan-puff or irrelevant not to take the risk and add good refs such as Larkin to strengthen the article. And as for strength of refs - I could list hundreds (literally) that are weak as paper bags (try Richard Newman's 'John Mayall, Bluesbreaker' as a great example of a personal view of a sadly under-referenced period of British music that you really couldn't quote most of the time as it's soooo biased).

Thankfully, in most cases, musicians entries are written by fans or ex-band members with a nostlgic eye, not copyright fiends and psychos. I'm carefully avoiding the ones with an agenda (The Bachelor's, anyone?) or better known artists where someone else ought to be able to raise a finger and deal with it without much effort (mainly US artists so far - we're a much smaller country). I'm not her to update Beatles entries, or Alice Cooper. Anyone can do that. What's in danger of disappearing is the world of Arthur Brown, Graham Bond, Bob Calvert, Pink Fairies, many 50s artists and minor 60s characters who sparked so much etc etc - the not so little people who drift in history because the bigger artists and their fans shout louder. They have their place.

I'll remain vigilant. Ta ... Brieflysentient (talk) 14:45, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

having happily used 1/2 hour to check JRN I now know what you mean - thankfully Larkin is a mildly-p'd off UK archivist as opposed to a ... er whatever, and doesn't have the modern litigant gene apparently.
Thanks for the heads-up ... an echo of the sage advice from the very wondrous Hill Street Blues 'Let's Be Careful Out There', and should remain a watchphrase for us all. Brieflysentient (talk) 16:37, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

She can't post to your talk page. I wish you all the best for your republic, but Wikipedia is probably not the place to continue its communications. Alternatives include Wikia and blogspot and wordpress and facebook and myspace and bebo. Things have moved on more than just a little in smart information fields, DragonflySixtyseven. And this may be an excellent medium in both real and virtual media circles to release what is known and discovered/uncovered. And IT is where Absolute Power and Virtual Control of Anonymous Remote Command is exercised and honed to Immaculate Perfection ...... if one is really good at what one does and is fully prepared to transparently share everything that one knows to be true about everything and anything that one knows to be true.

"please do not assume that we have agendas other than trying to make this the best resource that we can."

And to those that can, and would have an excellent, positively reinforcing, mutually beneficial and selfless, and therefore quite alien agenda, would that be a more than addictively attractive and enabling passion in Live Operational Virtual Environments. And to those who can, would that also be validation of virtual machines at work in REST and foreplay.

You will never find a sockpuppet wandering and wondering in such fields as dabble and travel in, and inject and direct novel meaning into, Life. Well, not until or unless Raw Pure Source ur2die4 Lode is so misleadingly named, and that would never be acceptable, would it, for only the Truth stripped of deceit and disguise sets you free as a bird in the skies.

Oklahold'em deleted?

Why was this article deleted? This game is now played in several casinos. I played it in a casino less than a week ago. There are lesser games that have Wikipedia articles, including many that are rarely--or are no longer--played in casinos. Examples: duplicate poker, razz, baduci. "Notability not asserted" is the reason given in the deletion log. Most poker games are not good enough to be played for money in a casino. This is one of the few poker games that actually is played for money in casinos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doughtis (talkcontribs) 07:48, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello Doughtis. I've reviewed your article and I see no claims to notability. The only source is that of the creator himself, and the external links are to the game's site and a youtube video presumably for that site. Finally, google gives me 186 hits for "oklaholdem", and by that metric alone it fails to be notable (Unfortunately, I do not see any site from Google that could provide a reliable source that could be provided along side the one that was already in the article.) Perhaps an article will be created when the game takes off? Xavexgoem (talk) 21:45, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

That's fair. I hope to see the article back on Wikipedia soon. I expect the game's popularity will spread quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doughtis (talkcontribs) 02:08, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Please restore, not a copyright violation. jorgenev 17:30, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Hey Jorgenev. I've been looking into this. I agree it's not an unambiguous copyvio, though some of the comments made might lead to that point of view. The author has requested deletion [9], but it's not unambiguous G7 as you've contributed. The page is horribly POV, poorly sourced to the extent that it could be considered an attack page on a BLP.
As such, if I were to undelete it, I'd have to blank the lot as an attack page, and start over. I do however think there's a potential article there, and will happily collaborate with you on getting a decent version up. I'd say it's eligible for WP:REFUND by email, which I can do, if you something to work from. WormTT · (talk) 18:53, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
I know; I was the one the user requested deletion from. Later he said I could keep it to work on. [10] I admit to not having gotten around to doing that as quickly as I could have but from what I recall it was hardly a copyright violation, and I remember adding a source to back up the most important claim (that he was serial killer). jorgenev 00:08, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
At which point he still wanted it deleted, but allowed you to recreate it. There were many negative statements in the article, only one was sourced - that he was convicted of the crime. There were also comments about his sexuality, his motive, his family - none of which were sourced. As I said, there's probably an article there, but it would have to be started from scratch.
