[edit] Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Rosa canina. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. The image showed a brand, and your edit contained several sources promoting Tunisia. Use WP:RS sources. Medical content requires WP:MEDRS reviews. Zefr (talk) 21:01, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Dear Zef,
- I'm new at things. I have zero promotional interest in the bands shown - would it have been OK if I had covered the phone number-name? I'm happy to take the picture out.
- But why did you also erase my text?
- This dog rose water is culturally and economically very important in Tunisia - in quantity distilled, in monetary value and in cultural traditions. I put a reference to publication for each element. Maybe I need ot make it shorter?? Like
- in Poland, the petals are used to make a jam that is particularly suitable for filling pączki, a type of doughnuts.
- In Tunisia the distilled water is used to make pastries which are a specialty from the city of Zaghouan.
- Would that be OK?
- DrRachT (talk) 22:48, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Also
- "During World War II in the United States, Rosa canina was planted in victory gardens"... this is a history reference.
- "In Tunisia, Andalousians brought the dog rose and its cultivation is documented in the 16th century" (with reference)...There are already so little things about Africa online because we don't have lots of primary and secondary sources... help me out DrRachT (talk) 22:52, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. The first sentence might be ok: "In Tunisia, dog rose flowers are steam distilled to produce a hydrosol (nesri in Tunisian Arabic)", using this ref (although the Leaders may not meet WP:RS), but the others seem promotional and/or blog-like. It would help to find RS sources not written by Tunisian authors and in English. Zefr (talk) 23:52, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
