Adding poster image to Remembrance (1982 film)

[edit]

Now that the article has published, you can upload an image of the poster under WP:Fair use.

To qualify as Fair Use, the image cannot be high resolution, and prior to upload should be formatted no larger (roughly) than it will appear on the page. So like 250px across is pretty standard. Basically if you uploaded a full-size and high-def image, that would violate the copyright since someone could print it as a poster, so you want an image just good enough to illustrate the concept, but no better.

Since it's FU, it can't be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, but must instead be uploaded using the "Upload file" link on the left-side column on your Wikipedia screen (a few inches down below the globe logo). Just upload the (downsized, not high-res) image, fill out the little form and check "copyright, fair use, poster, etc" and then it'll give you the link to paste into the infobox of your article. It's slightly annoying the first few times, but takes like three minutes once you get used to it.

Nice work! MatthewVanitas (talk) 06:21, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
