- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

CCP vs CPC
[edit]Hey Dotacal - I just noticed your recent edits to change Chinese Communist Party to Communist Party of China on a few different pages. Personally, I agree that CPC is the better and more accurate name, but this is a topic of heated debate here on Wikipedia (Talk:Chinese Communist Party) and unfortunately, the editorial consensus is still to use CCP. In the interests of keeping things consistent, I think other articles should use CCP until a consensus is reached to make a change. I'd encourage you to rollback your own changes for the moment, but I'll let you know the next time there's a vote. SilverStar54 (talk) 19:22, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, it seems like you're already involved in these discussions. In that case, please refrain from making changes before a consensus has been reached. I'm going to go ahead and rollback your edits. SilverStar54 (talk) 19:24, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi SilverStar, if you agree with me that we should be using CPC instead of CCP, then I don't understand why you would want consistent use of it. There will never be consensus on this issue, it still should be changed. It shouldn't have been CCP to begin with. Dotacal (talk) 19:41, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- You're right, of course. And now they've blocked you?? Wow, so sad what a highly biased, nasty, and politicized platform Wik. has become :( Very few people of intelligence value it anymore. Krivk (talk) 23:02, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
I am here to improve Wikipedia and I've already contributed to many pages and discussions. There are editors who I believe are trolling my talk page and deleting my posts, but I honestly do want to contribute, and I haven't been disruptive or abusive. I also believe that the admin who banned me did so out of hostility towards me and my opinions.Dotacal (talk) 20:02, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You are pushing for CCP to be changed CPC against consensus. You do not assume good faith of those who disagree with you. I am declining your request. PhilKnight (talk) 20:26, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

- I've removed talk page access. The fact you are refactoring a another editors comments on your talk page is enough for me to do so. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:23, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- I undid those changes. Devolved from NOTHERE to just a petty vandal. DMacks (talk) 21:06, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
