==Robert Paturel==--Dontstepback (talk) 00:09, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Robert Paturel, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.downloaddvddirect.com/Robert%2520Paturel/388940.phtml.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Hi, I'm new here but this text is mine. It is my translation of the page about Robert Paturel which I created on the French Wikipedia. I posted the English version on IMDB and added a link at the bottom of the French page. I've just found out ( thanks to you ) that this paper has been copied on the DVD website. I don't mind, I just want to make sure that Robert, who is a personal friend, as well as a great boxer and teacher gets his own page on the English wikipedia. And there are hardly other ways to put in words what needs to be said ( or is it just because I'm not a native English speaker ? ). Can you help me out here ?

Many thanks in advance. --Dontstepback (talk) 00:09, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed that note. But please see below. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 01:21, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Robert Paturel has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Thank you so much, Erik. I'll do my best to improve the page and will ask for further advice as far as references are concerned. Is it possible for me to get a tutor for my first steps in this English section of wikipedia ? --Dontstepback (talk) 09:11, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be happy to help; I'll be watching your talk page and Robert Paturel, so feel free to leave questions here or at Talk:Robert Paturel, or just go ahead and edit the article! Thanks for working on finding references, they are what really makes this encyclopedia great. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:01, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I agree, thanks for your time and your precious help ! Have a nice weekend.

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Robert Paturel has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nsu1KeiIco. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 10:39, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Erik, I've been kicked out once more when I was adding the same references as the ones I gave on the French wikipedia... I hope you can read me and I'll try to add a bibliography in the meantime. My, isn't it a championship in itself ? ;-)
I'm not sure exactly what XLinkBot's criteria is, but it probably just removed those because they were external links. Usually YouTube links are frowned upon – see WP:YOUTUBE – and IMDB probably isn't all that useful either unless it's being used as a reference. A good external link is usually something like the subject's main website or something like that. If the link is being used to support something in the article, then you can use it as a reference instead of an external link, although generally things that are text and not "user-generated" are better sources. "My, isn't it a championship in itself ?" - I'm not sure what you're asking. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 18:34, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was just a poor attempt at humour : it is almost as hard to find acceptable references as it is to win a championship !
I guess I'll have to do without the links to youtube for now, which is too bad because these are proofs of what is said in the text.
Do you think I can get rid of that hideous banner now ? And also, I wonder how I can add a picture inside the info box- somehow it was proposed to me in the French section, and I just gave a pic to wiki commons and loaded it inside the frame.
Thank you very much for your help. ;-)
"Do you think I can get rid of that hideous banner now ?" Someone just needs to add a reference for something in the article. Are there any news items or official listings of who won the French Boxing championship in years past? What is the name/url of the picture in commons? I can try to add it, or you can try copy the code from another page, eg, George Foreman has some code like |image=picture name.jpg ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 15:13, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Erick, I have the pleasure to inform you that everything went perfect thanks to your precious advice ! I cross my fingers and hope nothing will be reverted as I write these words. ;-) I just want to thank you for your patience and your kindness, it is not easy but I did it with your help. If you needed something in French one of these days, feel free to contact me.--Dontstepback (talk) 21:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's looking better and better; nice work on this article. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 20:55, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
