Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Front Page Irish War News.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Front Page Irish War News.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:59, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shatter Resistance

[edit]

Hi Domer. The AE on Shatter Resistance was archived without any further action. I don't think it would be fair if he was blocked or whatever after he had gone nearly a week without editing the article, but I think it's very bad that an admin didn't at least post to his talk page to tell him what he did was wrong, and why. I'll leave it up to you whether you want to follow it up. Regards, Scolaire (talk) 18:23, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the AE request, on the "Enforcement action requested" I left it as "To be determined" which in this case meant as you say no action at all. However they are now aware of 1RR, and should they suggest otherwise the link to the AE request will be useful. --Domer48'fenian' 08:28, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reinforcements needed over here. ---RepublicanJacobiteTheFortyFive 21:25, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reinforcements not required; I have removed the infobox and strongly warned the placing editor against edit warring. If a discussion is started then I expect that participants will remain civil in discussing whether consensus should change - and if an edit war breaks out I expect to be informed so I can quickly put an end to it. Good intervention there, no fuss or drama. --Domer48'fenian' 17:08, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{FoP-Ireland}}

§93 of the Irish copyright law permits photographers to take pictures of sculptures, buildings, and works of artistic craftsmanship that are permanently located in a public place or premises open to the public, and to publish such pictures in any way. Irish law is in this respect modeled on UK law, and in the absence of any specific case law to the contrary it is reasonable to assume that the rules will be identical. See the United Kingdom section for more details.

Who was the artist anyway?

[edit]

Can't really see this being a copyvio, but arising out of this, and more to satisfy curiosity than directly on the specific issue at hand, anyone know who did paint the portrait? I know its a bit off topic Domer, beg pardon, but Google has let me down on this one, and I kinda need to know now. RashersTierney (talk) 21:12, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Domer. Re the RM, it looks as though it will go through, since you now support it, but it would help if you would strike through your oppose from a couple of days ago. Thanks, Scolaire (talk) 06:31, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will do.--Domer48'fenian' 13:17, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NB: I have closed the topic due to too many comments, it's starting to hamper my time and is becoming bothersome so I have called Oversight to deal with it. If you have any further comments on the matter, I prefer that you use the email link. Fast reply not always guaranteed. Cheers, Ma®©usBritish [Chat • RFF] 01:38, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, any chance you could e-mail me, please? I have something I'd like you to see that I'm not publishing for the mob of witch-hunters on my case. My talkpage has so many watchers at the moment, mostly prying eyes and impinging opportunistic menial wankers than genuinely concerned people, it's like flies round shit.. and flies spread disease, so I'm responding to nobody on there or AN/I for now, because no bugger is making a genuine effort to listen to me, with the exception of yourself; they're only interested in making their own frightfully monotonous little egos heard on the top wiki-drama page. And because they're playing out an ill-mannered WP:RANDY clique scenario, with Sheodred being the favourite, whilst engaging in that despicably speculative and purely vexatious and perfidious discussion regarding me. I could shit a brick with the level of addlepated contempt I feel towards some people right now, as I'm sure you can tell. (I'll burn out my vocabulary if I get any more pissed, and scurrilous profanities are all that remains after that. ) I did try typing a response on AN/I earlier, but it became so damned long, like three screens in length, and offensive that I decided not to bother wasting any more time pursuing the matter with obnoxious people whom I don't regard as friendly or genuinely concerned. The fact that they left my talk page littered with shite after I put a "discouraged" notice up shows the level of disrespect, and plethora of playground mentality, I'm dealing with because "AGF" is a fallacy invented by liberal-minded optimists and doesn't work in real life. Okay, timeout.. Cheers, Ma®©usBritish [Chat • RFF] 10:26, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Marcus, I've opened my email, and will leave it open for a couple of days. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Regards, --Domer48'fenian' 15:56, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
