As an example of WP:VERIFIABILITY, this edit by you was reverted because you need to consider the validity of an "estimate" of the CIA versus the full range of slightly older and highly discrepant sources, as well as the most serious sources (which have their own methods and sources well-defined and documented) such as the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. You can use {{UN population|Eritrea}} to get the most recent UN DESA estimate of the population of Eritrea: 3,620,312 people. You can see the most recent Request for Comment (RfC) at Special:PermanentLink/1018765663#RfC on UN DESA 2019 Eritrea population estimate. The CIA Factbook number doesn't explain where the number comes from, but most likely it's a projection from very old estimates; it's not a real estimate for May 2023.
