Welcome from Ioeth

[edit]

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Credentials

[edit]

Bill, I wanted to point you to a few pages concerning "expert" editors like yourself. (FYI, there's no set policy for the use of credentials, e.g. PhD, on Wikipedia, but it's generally recommended that one not mention academic credentials outside of his/her own User pages.)

Here are a few relevant articles:

Some of these policy article contain somewhat contradictory advice, but each has some support from within the Wikipedia community.

Anyways, thanks for contributing and Happy editting. -- Justin W Smith talk/stalk 16:34, 22 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Docbillnet (talkcontribs) [reply]

One more thing

[edit]

Also see WP:TALKO. You're free to do whatever you want on your own talk pages, but deleting comments made by others elsewhere is discouraged. Quoting from WP:TALKO, "The basic rule – with some specific exceptions outlined below – is, that you should not edit or delete the comments of other editors without their permission." -- Justin W Smith talk/stalk 16:49, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
