Welcome to the Wikipedia 1.0 Review Team
Hi Doc, Thanks for signing up for the review team. We just released our test CD, which received a surprising amount of press coverage - this indicates that there is a lot of interest in what we're doing. (It's also why it took us a while to contact you) Please help to make the next release even better! Let me know what you're interested in, or if you want some guidance. If you prefer, just take a look at the FAQ page and get started.
I also see that you're interested in things to improve Wikipedia's reputation. Would you care to elaborate on my talk page? Thanks! Walkerma 03:00, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Ambiguous link
Your recent edit to List of 2000s one-hit wonders in the United States included one or more links to the page Blur, which is a disambiguation page. This type of page is intended to direct users to more specific topics. Ordinarily we try to avoid creating links to disambiguation pages, since it is preferable to link directly to the specific topic relevant to the context. You can help Wikipedia by revising the links you added to List of 2000s one-hit wonders in the United States to refer directly to the most relevant topic. (This message was generated by an automatic process; if you believe it to be in error, please accept our apologies and report the error to help us improve this feature.) Hi,
I noticed that you added two chart positions to this page, stating that "Brianstorm" reached #56 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart and #114 on the Hot 100. I believe that the Modern Rock Tracks chart only contains 40 positions and that the Hot 100 only contains 100 positions (unless you count "bubbling under"). Could you explain what the positions that you added mean or indicate the source of the information? Thanks,
Acegikmo1 18:13, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- The #56 is from Mediabase, and i AM counting Bubbling Under, read the footnote, plz! Doc Strange 12:24, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Perhaps we could specify Mediabase Alternative and Bubbling Under. What do you think? I think the footnote you're talking about is the one here, could we use the same kind of footnote on the "Brianstorm" page?
- Thanks,
- Yeah. It's my footnote. Go ahead. Doc Strange 12:24, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your recent contributions to la secchia rapita. Your changes, however, consisted of inserting a section of text that had been specifically excluded from the article due to lack of sourcing. Do you have a reliable source you can cite that this conflict actually happened, or even better, that the details mentioned in the paragraph you added are accurate? Thanks! Those two will also be put up for deletion once that one is over. They weren't put together to avoid votes that had little to do with the topic at hand. If you feel that it should be kept, can you please revise your vote to speak about the article's own merits? TTN (talk) 13:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Moros Eros
I have nominated Moros Eros, an article you created, for deletion. Contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated. However, I do not feel that Moros Eros satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and I have explain why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the open discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moros Eros and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Michelle Leonard
Hi. You recently argued for the deletion of Michelle Leonard on the grounds that it is largely WP:BOLLOCKS. Since then, the page has been considerably re-written. Nearly everything in the original article checked out—there was little that was bollocks at all! So I thought you might want to re-consider your position in the deletion discussion. Articles for deletion/List of claims made by Zeitgeist, the Movie
- I just created this page a week ago Friday (Jan 25) and so far I have been the only editor of this page, but I would like to avoid having it deleted in the hope that other editors will collaborate on it with me.
- I want to let you know that many things have changed regarding this article since you voted to have it deleted.
- I have fully read and responded to every Wikipedia guideline that I have been referred to,
- I have modified my plans for the article and changed the way I view the subject in order to fit within those guidelines,
- I have explained my position and my goals in detail on the AfD for the page,
- and I have completely blanked the talk page of the article since most of the concerns about guidelines involved the talk page and not the actual article.
- I am sure you will find that I have made a great effort to contribute to the usefulness and quality of Wikipedia, and that my actions are motivated by a desire to improve Wikipedia and to keep Wikipedia neutral.
- I believe that the only guidelines my article can still be accused of violating are those concerning "notability" and "lists of random facts" and being that this is such a young article, I urge you to revisit the article, the AfD for the article, as well as the article's talk page, and make sure that you still feel that the article needs to be deleted right now.
- Thank-you for your time, and I appreciate your efforts in keeping Wikipedia clutter-free!
- Sincerely,
Your VandalProof Application
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Doc Strange. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Could you tell me your source of information for this edit you made on 20 May 2007? The Billboard website agrees with the previous entry. Thank you, indopug (talk) 05:30, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, Billboard agrees with me: Here [2] and [3]. This shows that "Juicebox" by The Strokes hit #98 on the Billboard Hot 100. You see, "Juicebox" hit #65 on the Billboard Pop 100, which is a different chart from the Billboard Hot 100. When people talk about the "US Charts", they're talking about the Hot 100, not the Pop 100. In fact Billboard's own Artist chart page shows no entry on the Hot 100 for Juicebox, despite All Music Guide's insistence that it does Doc StrangeMailbox Orbitting Black HoleStrange Frequencies 07:53, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, I've significantly reworked the article; and I've put #65 under Pop 100. Since Billboard itself doesn't list it, I'm not listing the Billboard Hot 100 entry. indopug (talk) 11:49, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Chill (rapper) Deletion Request
Hey Doc, I've read and see your concerns and would like some guidance about how to clear up any claims and provide proof. Would not uploading album artworks (proving both the label (Sony/Epic) and sponsorship (Pepsi) be a copyright infringment? I was not sure on how this could be done. The same with the Comic Book issue. It would stand to reason that a picture/scan of the cover would be proof. But again would that be an infringment? Please provide guidance, as I am very new to article submission. Thank You. Dd studios (talk) 01:06, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
>>>My question was simply if you had any connection to the musician at all aside from being a fan. I need reliable sources to prove that this rapper is really signed to Epic or has a deal with Pepsi. We cannot got on your word alone. Examples of reliable sources (for music-related articles at least) would include Rolling Stone, SPIN, NME, Pitchfork Media or similar sources. Please read WP:RS and WP:MUSIC. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 01:13, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay Doc. Thank you for your response. My connection to this artist is professional. I am one of the American producers on her new album. The problem it seems with sources (especially the ones you had mentioned) is these are all American or US based Magazines/Media. The press and coverage for Chill were Pilipino counterparts of those companies and publications, IE (Sony/Epic Asia, FHM (Philippines), Pepsi and all the others. Sadly the Pilipino branches of those companies were/are not as well represented on the Web as the American counterparts. Thus, linking is difficult. Should every "claim" or source that can not be linked be deleted?Dd studios (talk) 00:34, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I did some major trimming to the article and added sources. And have now just found and added multiple awards from various organizations... 2005: Aegis Awards Winners and finalists recognition[4], 2006: two awards at the 27th annual Telly Awards[5], 2007: they won a Radio-Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas (RTNDAC) Award for "Best Student Television Newscast".[6], 2008: Three awards at the 29th annual Telly Awards[7], and the 2009 Broadcast Education Association awards[8][9]. I think it has enough independent notability after being trimmed and properly sourced to exist as a stand-alone. Best regards, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Sit Down, Shut Up
Apparently it was because one of those three fans I mentioned created a singular infobox for just that show with the information called "Infobox Sit Down Shut Up", which was broken beyond belief (and I took to TfD because of that), so I had to replace it anew with Infobox Television. I don't know what it is but I seem to have the most cleanup issues not with the biggie articles, but shows like this one (which I incredibly loathed; you don't create a new series from a failed overseas project), Brainsurge and other Nick and Disney shows. It takes the patience of a saint to keep those articles vandalism and cruft-free. Nate • (chatter) 08:22, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

The problem resolved pretty fast after you directed me to the thread and I blocked every user who vandalized a page posted there. The three-strikes-before-you're-blocked rule is good for encouraging newbies, but pointless for organized vandalism. - Oh, yeah there was another thread on /mu/ this morning. Don't worry, they stopped. They might start again when the page gets unprotected...seem to have something against that band. Thanks for the heads up :) -Frazzydee|✍ 21:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Warning?

Ronnie James Dio - Deaths 2010
Sorry, I keep forgetting the other wiki language articles are now hidden (why???)! Thought it was strange he didn't have even 1! Doh!! DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 23:11, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks
Hello Doc Strange. Thanks for adding columns to the BBC America programming section. I doubt that the section would need three columns for now. It might have back in the late 90's and early 00's when they had more programs on each week - boy I miss those days. Between you me and a couple of anon IP's I think there are enough eyes keeping things up to date that the section won't fill up with items that aren't currently on. Having said that should things change in the future I know that you will be there to take care of things. Thanks again and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 21:09, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hi again. Thanks for your note. Yeah, listing past programs doesn't add much to the article. Most other articles about television channels do not have them and that is part of the reason that I edited them out - I appreciate your understanding on that. I noticed that you added some upcoming programs. At first glance these have some problems with WP:CRYSTAL. You have taken care of some of that by providing proper references and dates. However, we still have to be careful about this. Those that work for this network can change there minds. As I remember it the 2nd season of Life on Mars (one of the best things of the mid 00's by the way) was announced and then got pushed several months away from that date (I think that the popularity of Torchwood had something to do with that but I could be wrong). I will rely on you to check on them from time to time and if something changes please update the page. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 21:51, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
In addressing the nominator's good faith concerns, the article has now been edited, cleaned up, and sourced, and contains no original research. I believe this Walt Disney produced classic short from early animation history now meets WP:NF for standalone notability and merits an article on Wikipedia. I invite you to revisit Music Land and offer suggestions toward further improvement. Thank you, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:16, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Reviewer Right Granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Helpful One 12:03, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Correct Use of Tables
In the wiki article on Heather Zurich, you removed the statistics tables and noted "(these tables cause the page to become one of the largest in size on Wikipedia, please add them back in a correct form)". Could you advise me or point me to the correct form for entering tables? I'm more than willing to correct my mistakes :) Jrnhoops (talk) 17:05, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
