Hello Doaneyip. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Doane & Company, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Doaneyip. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Doaneyip|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:57, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I own the company, and I did not pay anyone to write the article. This means you are making mistakes, and this article is 100% original. Doaneyip (talk) 10:14, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you trying to say that you have no financial stake in this subject? I would have thought that as an owner, you inherently do.
Please just make the paid-editing disclosure. This is a hard requirement, not an optional extra. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:21, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Doane & Company, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:42, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

To create an article for my company (Doane & Company) to record the millstone of my company. And I will not receive any compensation for these contributions, as it does not make sense because I am not a 3rd party Doaneyip (talk) 10:56, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This choice of new username is worse, please read the username policy. Accounts are for individuals only, not groups or businesses. Your real name is not required. Regarding the block itself, as the business owner I presume that you operate your business to earn a living, and not as volunteer work for free. That makes you a paid editor, you do not need to be specifically paid to edit(otherwise every paid editor would deny being specifically paid to edit), so you must make the Terms of Use-required paid editing disclosure. Please read WP:PROMO and WP:COI as well. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your business. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to be a more general contributor and edit about other topics unrelated to your business, like your Prime Minister or King Charles or the history of the UK or science, please tell what topics you might edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 11:22, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
