Geek Brief TV

[edit]

You seem to know Cali Lewis of Geek Brief because of podtea for cancer, so I was wondering if you'd help with the Geekbrief page so that it won't be considered a vanity page. 21:59, 18 July 2006 (UTC) The Hero of Time

I've attempted to get some info for the article. Most podcasts have most of their content in the show (media file) and therefore it's hard to find resources that Wikipedians will accept. I've contacted the GIA to see if I can get some info. Djsteen 12:37, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: PodTea For Cancer

[edit]

I've nominated the article PodTea For Cancer for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that PodTea For Cancer satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PodTea For Cancer. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of PodTea For Cancer during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Wikipedia policies

[edit]

Hi. Further to my comments elsewhere, please review the full list of Wikipedia policies here. This will give you an idea of what you can write about, and how you need to write it, and will save you a lot of time and frustration. --Centauri 22:21, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I've been reading up on it all. Getting the hang of it now. :) Djsteen 23:09, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Derek Jay Steen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Derek Jay Steen. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. File:Geekbrief-banner-182X96.jpg needs authorship information

[edit]
Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Geekbrief-banner-182X96.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|Djsteen}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:53, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Derek Steen BW dodgers.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Derek Steen BW dodgers.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:03, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Nothing Podshow banner (600x100).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused logo with no article used, it's also can't move to commons because of an unused logo will be deleted as of out of project scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on User:Djsteen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
